¹לְמַחְלְק֖וֹת לְשֹׁעֲרִ֑ים לַקָּרְחִ֕ים מְשֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֥הוּ בֶן־קֹרֵ֖א מִן־בְּנֵ֥י אָסָֽף׃

lemachlekot lesho'arim lakkarchim meshelemyahu ven-kore min-bene asaf

For the courses of the doorkeepers: of the Korahites: Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

²וְלִמְשֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֖הוּ בָּנִ֑ים זְכַרְיָ֤הוּ הַבְּכוֹר֙ יְדִֽיעֲאֵ֣ל הַשֵּׁנִ֔י זְבַדְיָ֨הוּ֙ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י יַתְנִיאֵ֖ל הָרְבִיעִֽי׃

velimshelemyahu banim zekharyahu habbekhor yedi'a'el hasheni zevadyahu hashelishi yatni'el harvi'i

And Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the first-born, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth;

³עֵילָ֤ם הַחֲמִישִׁי֙ יְהוֹחָנָ֣ן הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י אֶלְיְהוֹעֵינַ֖י הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃

elam hachamishi yehochanan hashishi elyeho'enay hashevi'i

Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Eliehoenai the seventh.

⁴וּלְעֹבֵ֥ד אֱדֹ֖ם בָּנִ֑ים שְׁמַֽעְיָ֤ה הַבְּכוֹר֙ יְהוֹזָבָ֣ד הַשֵּׁנִ֔י יוֹאָ֤ח הַשְּׁלִשִׁי֙ וְשָׂכָ֣ר הָרְבִיעִ֔י וּנְתַנְאֵ֖ל הַחֲמִישִֽׁי׃

ule'oved edom banim shema'ya habbekhor yehozavad hasheni yo'ach hashelishi vesakhar harvi'i unetan'el hachamishi

And Obed-edom had sons: Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethanel the fifth;

⁵עַמִּיאֵ֤ל הַשִּׁשִּׁי֙ יִשָׂשכָ֣ר הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י פְּעֻלְּתַ֖י הַשְּׁמִינִ֑י כִּ֥י בֵרֲכ֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃

ammi'el hashishi yisashkhar hashevi'i pe'ulletay hashemini ki verakho elohim

Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth; for God blessed him.

⁶וְלִֽשְׁמַֽעְיָ֤ה בְנוֹ֙ נוֹלַ֣ד בָּנִ֔ים הַמִּמְשָׁלִ֖ים לְבֵ֣ית אֲבִיהֶ֑ם כִּֽי־גִבּ֥וֹרֵי חַ֖יִל הֵֽמָּה׃

velishma'ya veno nolad banim hammimshalim levet avihem ki-gibbore chayil hemma

Also unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that ruled over the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valour.

⁷בְּנֵ֣י שְׁמַֽעְיָ֗ה עָ֠תְנִי וּרְפָאֵ֨ל וְעוֹבֵ֧ד אֶלְזָבָ֛ד אֶחָ֖יו בְּנֵי־חָ֑יִל אֱלִיה֖וּ וּסְמַכְיָֽהוּ׃

bene shema'ya atni urefa'el ve'oved elzavad echav bene-chayil elihu usemakhyahu

The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, and Rephael and Obed and Elzabad his brethren, valiant men; Elihu also, and Semachiah.

⁸כָּל־אֵ֜לֶּה מִבְּנֵ֣י ׀ עֹבֵ֣ד אֱדֹ֗ם הֵ֤מָּה וּבְנֵיהֶם֙ וַאֲחֵיהֶ֔ם אִֽישׁ־חַ֥יִל בַּכֹּ֖חַ לַעֲבֹדָ֑ה שִׁשִּׁ֥ים וּשְׁנַ֖יִם לְעֹבֵ֥ד אֱדֹֽם׃

kal-elle mibbene oved edom hemma uvenehem va'achehem ish-chayil bakkoach la'avoda shishim ushenayim le'oved edom

All these were of the sons of Obed-edom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men in strength for the service; threescore and two of Obed-edom.

⁹וְלִמְשֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֗הוּ בָּנִ֧ים וְאַחִ֛ים בְּנֵי־חָ֖יִל שְׁמוֹנָ֥ה עָשָֽׂר׃

velimshelemyahu banim ve'achim bene-chayil shemona asar

And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, valiant men, eighteen.

¹⁰וּלְחֹסָ֥ה מִן־בְּנֵי־מְרָרִ֖י בָּנִ֑ים שִׁמְרִ֤י הָרֹאשׁ֙ כִּ֣י לֹא־הָיָ֣ה בְכ֔וֹר וַיְשִׂימֵ֥הוּ אָבִ֖יהוּ לְרֹֽאשׁ׃

ulechosa min-bene-merari banim shimri harosh ki lo-haya vekhor vaysimehu avihu lerosh

Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief—for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him chief—

¹¹חִלְקִיָּ֤הוּ הַשֵּׁנִי֙ טְבַלְיָ֣הוּ הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֔י זְכַרְיָ֖הוּ הָרְבִעִ֑י כָּל־בָּנִ֧ים וְאַחִ֛ים לְחֹסָ֖ה שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה עָשָֽׂר׃

chilkiyyahu hasheni tevalyahu hashelishi zekharyahu harvi'i kal-banim ve'achim lechosa shelosha asar

Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Hosah were thirteen.

¹²לְ֠אֵלֶּה מַחְלְק֨וֹת הַשֹּֽׁעֲרִ֜ים לְרָאשֵׁ֧י הַגְּבָרִ֛ים מִשְׁמָר֖וֹת לְעֻמַּ֣ת אֲחֵיהֶ֑ם לְשָׁרֵ֖ת בְּבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

le'elle machlekot hasho'arim lerashe haggevarim mishmarot le'ummat achehem lesharet bevet ADONAI

These courses of the doorkeepers, even the chief men, had wards over against their brethren, to minister in the house of the LORD.

¹³וַיַּפִּ֨ילוּ גוֹרָל֜וֹת כַּקָּטֹ֧ן כַּגָּד֛וֹל לְבֵ֥ית אֲבוֹתָ֖ם לְשַׁ֥עַר וָשָֽׁעַר׃

vayyappilu goralot kakkaton kaggadol levet avotam lesha'ar vasha'ar

And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to their fathers’houses, for every gate.

¹⁴וַיִּפֹּ֧ל הַגּוֹרָ֛ל מִזְרָ֖חָה לְשֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֑הוּ וּזְכַרְיָ֨הוּ בְנ֜וֹ יוֹעֵ֣ץ ׀ בְּשֶׂ֗כֶל הִפִּ֨ילוּ֙ גּֽוֹרָל֔וֹת וַיֵּצֵ֥א גוֹרָל֖וֹ צָפֽוֹנָה׃

vayyippol haggoral mizracha leshelemyahu uzekharyahu veno yo'etz besekhel hippilu goralot vayyetze goralo tzafona

And the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a discreet counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.

¹⁵לְעֹבֵ֥ד אֱדֹ֖ם נֶ֑גְבָּה וּלְבָנָ֖יו בֵּ֥ית הָאֲסֻפִּֽים׃

le'oved edom negba ulevanav bet ha'asuppim

To Obed-edom southward; and to his sons the Storehouse.

¹⁶לְשֻׁפִּ֤ים וּלְחֹסָה֙ לַֽמַּעֲרָ֔ב עִ֚ם שַׁ֣עַר שַׁלֶּ֔כֶת בַּֽמְסִלָּ֖ה הָעוֹלָ֑ה מִשְׁמָ֖ר לְעֻמַּ֥ת מִשְׁמָֽר׃

leshuppim ulechosa lamma'arav im sha'ar shallekhet bamsilla ha'ola mishmar le'ummat mishmar

To Shuppim and Hosah westward, by the gate of Shallecheth, at the causeway that goeth up, ward against ward.

¹⁷לַמִּזְרָח֮ הַלְוִיִּ֣ם שִׁשָּׁה֒ לַצָּפ֤וֹנָה לַיּוֹם֙ אַרְבָּעָ֔ה לַנֶּ֥גְבָּה לַיּ֖וֹם אַרְבָּעָ֑ה וְלָאֲסֻפִּ֖ים שְׁנַ֥יִם שְׁנָֽיִם׃

lammizrach halviyyim shisha latzafona layyom arba'a lannegba layyom arba'a vela'asuppim shenayim shenayim

Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and for the Storehouse two and two.

¹⁸לַפַּרְבָּ֖ר לַֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב אַרְבָּעָה֙ לַֽמְסִלָּ֔ה שְׁנַ֖יִם לַפַּרְבָּֽר׃

lapparbar lamma'arav arba'a lamsilla shenayim lapparbar

For the Precinct westward, four at the causeway, and two at the Precinct.

¹⁹אֵ֗לֶּה מַחְלְקוֹת֙ הַשֹּׁ֣עֲרִ֔ים לִבְנֵ֥י הַקָּרְחִ֖י וְלִבְנֵ֥י מְרָרִֽי׃

elle machlekot hasho'arim livne hakkarchi velivne merari

These were the courses of the doorkeepers; of the sons of the Korahites, and of the sons of Merari.

²⁰וְֽהַלְוִיִּ֑ם אֲחִיָּ֗ה עַל־אֽוֹצְרוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וּלְאֹֽצְר֖וֹת הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃

vehalviyyim achiyya al-otzrot bet ha'elohim ule'otzrot hakkodashim

And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasuries of the house of God, and over the treasuries of the hallowed things.

²¹בְּנֵ֣י לַ֠עְדָּן בְּנֵ֨י הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֜י לְלַעְדָּ֗ן רָאשֵׁ֧י הָאָב֛וֹת לְלַעְדָּ֥ן הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֖י יְחִיאֵלִֽי׃

bene la'dan bene haggershunni lela'dan rashe ha'avot lela'dan haggershunni yechi'eli

The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’houses belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli.

²²בְּנֵ֖י יְחִֽיאֵלִ֑י זֵתָם֙ וְיוֹאֵ֣ל אָחִ֔יו עַל־אֹצְר֖וֹת בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

bene yechi'eli zetam veyo'el achiv al-otzrot bet ADONAI

The sons of Jehieli: Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasuries of the house of the LORD.

²³לַֽעַמְרָמִי֙ לַיִּצְהָרִ֔י לַֽחֶבְרוֹנִ֖י לָֽעָזִּיאֵלִֽי׃

la'amrami layyitzhari lachevroni la'azzi'eli

Of the Amramites, of the Izharites, of the Hebronites, of the Uzzielites;

²⁴וּשְׁבֻאֵל֙ בֶּן־גֵּרְשׁ֣וֹם בֶּן־מֹשֶׁ֔ה נָגִ֖יד עַל־הָאֹצָרֽוֹת׃

ushevu'el ben-gershom ben-moshe nagid al-ha'otzarot

Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler over the treasuries.

²⁵וְאֶחָ֖יו לֶֽאֱלִיעֶ֑זֶר רְחַבְיָ֨הוּ בְנ֜וֹ וִֽישַׁעְיָ֤הוּ בְנוֹ֙ וְיֹרָ֣ם בְּנ֔וֹ וְזִכְרִ֥י בְנ֖וֹ ושלמות [וּשְׁלֹמִ֥ית] בְּנֽוֹ׃

ve'echav le'eli'ezer rechavyahu veno visha'yahu veno veyoram beno vezikhri veno ushelomit beno

And his brethren by Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.

²⁶ה֧וּא שְׁלֹמ֣וֹת וְאֶחָ֗יו עַ֣ל כָּל־אֹצְר֤וֹת הַקֳּדָשִׁים֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִקְדִּ֜ישׁ דָּוִ֣יד הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ וְרָאשֵׁ֧י הָאָב֛וֹת לְשָׂרֵֽי־הָאֲלָפִ֥ים וְהַמֵּא֖וֹת וְשָׂרֵ֥י הַצָּבָֽא׃

hu shelomot ve'echav al kal-otzrot hakkodashim asher hikdish david hammelekh verashe ha'avot lesare-ha'alafim vehammeot vesare hatzava

This Shelomith and his brethren were over all the treasuries of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the heads of the fathers’houses, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated.

²⁷מִן־הַמִּלְחָמ֥וֹת וּמִן־הַשָּׁלָ֖ל הִקְדִּ֑ישׁוּ לְחַזֵּ֖ק לְבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

min-hammilchamot umin-hashalal hikdishu lechazzek levet ADONAI

Out of the spoil won in battles did they dedicate to repair the house of the LORD.

²⁸וְכֹ֨ל הַֽהִקְדִּ֜ישׁ שְׁמוּאֵ֤ל הָרֹאֶה֙ וְשָׁא֣וּל בֶּן־קִ֔ישׁ וְאַבְנֵ֣ר בֶּן־נֵ֔ר וְיוֹאָ֖ב בֶּן־צְרוּיָ֑ה כֹּ֚ל הַמַּקְדִּ֔ישׁ עַ֥ל יַד־שְׁלֹמִ֖ית וְאֶחָֽיו׃

vekhol hahikdish shemu'el haro'e veshaul ben-kish ve'avner ben-ner veyo'av ben-tzeruya kol hammakdish al yad-shelomit ve'echav

And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; whosoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.

²⁹לַיִּצְהָרִ֞י כְּנַנְיָ֣הוּ וּבָנָ֗יו לַמְּלָאכָ֤ה הַחִֽיצוֹנָה֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְשֹׁטְרִ֖ים וּלְשֹׁפְטִֽים׃

layyitzhari kenanyahu uvanav lammelakha hachitzona al-yisra'el leshotrim uleshoftim

Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sorts were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.

³⁰לַֽחֶבְרוֹנִ֡י חֲשַׁבְיָהוּ֩ וְאֶחָ֨יו בְּנֵי־חַ֜יִל אֶ֣לֶף וּשְׁבַע־מֵא֗וֹת עַ֚ל פְּקֻדַּ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מֵעֵ֥בֶר לַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן מַעְרָ֑בָה לְכֹל֙ מְלֶ֣אכֶת יְהוָ֔ה וְלַעֲבֹדַ֖ת הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

lachevroni chashavyahu ve'echav bene-chayil elef usheva'-meot al pekuddat yisra'el me'ever layyarden ma'rava lekhol melekhet ADONAI vela'avodat hammelekh

Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, had the oversight of Israel beyond the Jordan westward; for all the business of the LORD, and for the service of the king.

³¹לַֽחֶבְרוֹנִי֙ יְרִיָּ֣ה הָרֹ֔אשׁ לַֽחֶבְרוֹנִ֥י לְתֹלְדֹתָ֖יו לְאָב֑וֹת בִּשְׁנַ֨ת הָֽאַרְבָּעִ֜ים לְמַלְכ֤וּת דָּוִיד֙ נִדְרָ֔שׁוּ וַיִּמָּצֵ֥א בָהֶ֛ם גִּבּ֥וֹרֵי חַ֖יִל בְּיַעְזֵ֥יר גִּלְעָֽד׃

lachevroni yeriyya harosh lachevroni letoldotav le'avot bishnat ha'arba'im lemalkhut david nidrashu vayyimmatze vahem gibbore chayil beya'zer gil'ad

Of the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even of the Hebronites, according to their generations by fathers’houses. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour at Jazer of Gilead.

³²וְאֶחָ֣יו בְּנֵי־חַ֗יִל אַלְפַּ֛יִם וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת רָאשֵׁ֣י הָאָב֑וֹת וַיַּפְקִידֵ֞ם דָּוִ֣יד הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ עַל־הָראוּבֵנִ֤י וְהַגָּדִי֙ וַחֲצִי֙ שֵׁ֣בֶט הַֽמְנַשִּׁ֔י לְכָל־דְּבַ֥ר הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים וּדְבַ֥ר הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

ve'echav bene-chayil alpayim usheva' meot rashe ha'avot vayyafkidem david hammelekh al-haruveni vehaggadi vachatzi shevet hamnashi lekhal-devar ha'elohim udevar hammelekh

And his brethren, men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred, heads of fathers’houses, whom king David made overseers over the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of the Manassites, for every matter pertaining to God, and for the affairs of the king.

²⁸All that Samuel the seer, Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated, whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomoth and of his brothers.

²⁹Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed to the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.

³⁰Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, one thousand seven hundred men of valor, had the oversight of Israel beyond the Jordan westward, for all the business of the LORD and for the service of the king.

³¹Of the Hebronites, Jerijah was the chief of the Hebronites, according to their generations by fathers’ households. They were sought for in the fortieth year of the reign of David, and mighty men of valor were found among them at Jazer of Gilead.
