¹וַיַּבְדֵּ֣ל דָּוִיד֩ וְשָׂרֵ֨י הַצָּבָ֜א לַעֲבֹדָ֗ה לִבְנֵ֤י אָסָף֙ וְהֵימָ֣ן וִֽידוּת֔וּן הנביאים [הַֽנִּבְּאִ֛ים] בְּכִנֹּר֥וֹת בִּנְבָלִ֖ים וּבִמְצִלְתָּ֑יִם וַֽיְהִי֙ מִסְפָּרָ֔ם אַנְשֵׁ֥י מְלָאכָ֖ה לַעֲבֹדָתָֽם׃

vayyavdel david vesare hatzava la'avoda livne asaf veheman vidutun hannibbe'im bekhinnorot binvalim uvimtziltayim vayhi misparam anshe melakha la'avodatam

Moreover David and the captains of the host separated for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals; and the number of them that did the work according to their service was:

²לִבְנֵ֣י אָסָ֗ף זַכּ֧וּר וְיוֹסֵ֛ף וּנְתַנְיָ֥ה וַאֲשַׂרְאֵ֖לָה בְּנֵ֣י אָסָ֑ף עַ֚ל יַד־אָסָ֔ף הַנִּבָּ֖א עַל־יְדֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

livne asaf zakkur veyosef unetanya va'asar'ela bene asaf al yad-asaf hannibba al-yede hammelekh

of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph; under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied according to the direction of the king.

³לִידוּת֑וּן בְּנֵ֣י יְדוּת֡וּן גְּדַלְיָ֡הוּ וּצְרִ֡י וִֽ֠ישַׁעְיָהוּ חֲשַׁבְיָ֨הוּ וּמַתִּתְיָ֜הוּ שִׁשָּׁ֗ה עַל֩ יְדֵ֨י אֲבִיהֶ֤ם יְדוּתוּן֙ בַּכִּנּ֔וֹר הַנִּבָּ֕א עַל־הֹד֥וֹת וְהַלֵּ֖ל לַיהוָֽה׃

lidutun bene yedutun gedalyahu utzeri visha'yahu chashavyahu umattityahu shisha al yede avihem yedutun bakkinnor hannibba al-hodot vehallel laADONAI

Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six; under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising the LORD.

⁴לְהֵימָ֑ן בְּנֵ֣י הֵימָ֡ן בֻּקִּיָּ֡הוּ מַתַּנְיָ֡הוּ עֻ֠זִּיאֵל שְׁבוּאֵ֨ל וִֽירִימ֜וֹת חֲנַנְיָ֣ה חֲנָ֗נִי אֱלִיאָ֤תָה גִדַּ֨לְתִּי֙ וְרֹמַ֣מְתִּי עֶ֔זֶר יָשְׁבְּקָ֣שָׁה מַלּ֔וֹתִי הוֹתִ֖יר מַחֲזִיאֽוֹת׃

leheman bene heman bukkiyyahu mattanyahu uzzi'el shevu'el virimot chananya chanani eli'ata giddalti veromamti ezer yashbekasha malloti hotir machaziot

Of Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth;

⁵כָּל־אֵ֨לֶּה בָנִ֜ים לְהֵימָ֗ן חֹזֵ֥ה הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ בְּדִבְרֵ֥י הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים לְהָרִ֣ים קָ֑רֶן וַיִּתֵּ֨ן הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים לְהֵימָ֗ן בָּנִ֛ים אַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר וּבָנ֥וֹת שָׁלֽוֹשׁ׃

kal-elle vanim leheman choze hammelekh bedivre ha'elohim leharim karen vayyitten ha'elohim leheman banim arba'a asar uvanot shalosh

all these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the things pertaining to God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

⁶כָּל־אֵ֣לֶּה עַל־יְדֵי֩ אֲבִיהֶ֨ם בַּשִּׁ֜יר בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֗ה בִּמְצִלְתַּ֨יִם֙ נְבָלִ֣ים וְכִנֹּר֔וֹת לַעֲבֹדַ֖ת בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים עַ֚ל יְדֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אָסָ֥ף וִידוּת֖וּן וְהֵימָֽן׃

kal-elle al-yede avihem bashir bet ADONAI bimtziltayim nevalim vekhinnorot la'avodat bet ha'elohim al yede hammelekh asaf vidutun veheman

All these were under the hands of their fathers for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the direction of the king—Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

⁷וַיְהִ֤י מִסְפָּרָם֙ עִם־אֲחֵיהֶ֔ם מְלֻמְּדֵי־שִׁ֖יר לַיהוָ֑ה כָּל־הַ֨מֵּבִ֔ין מָאתַ֖יִם שְׁמוֹנִ֥ים וּשְׁמוֹנָֽה׃

vayhi misparam im-achehem melummede-shir laADONAI kal-hammevin matayim shemonim ushemona

And the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in singing unto the LORD, even all that were skilful, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

⁸וַיַּפִּ֜ילוּ גּוֹרָל֣וֹת מִשְׁמֶ֗רֶת לְעֻמַּת֙ כַּקָּטֹ֣ן כַּגָּד֔וֹל מֵבִ֖ין עִם־תַּלְמִֽיד׃

vayyappilu goralot mishmeret le'ummat kakkaton kaggadol mevin im-talmid

And they cast lots ward against [ward], as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

⁹וַיֵּצֵ֞א הַגּוֹרָ֧ל הָרִאשׁ֛וֹן לְאָסָ֖ף לְיוֹסֵ֑ף גְּדַלְיָ֨הוּ֙ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י הֽוּא־וְאֶחָ֥יו וּבָנָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

vayyetze haggoral harishon le'asaf leyosef gedalyahu hasheni hu-ve'echav uvanav shenem asar

Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph; The second to Gedaliah; he and his brethren and sons were twelve;

¹⁰הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֣י זַכּ֔וּר בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

hashelishi zakkur banav ve'echav shenem asar

The third to Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹¹הָרְבִיעִי֙ לַיִּצְרִ֔י בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

harvi'i layyitzri banav ve'echav shenem asar

The fourth to Izri, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹²הַחֲמִישִׁ֣י נְתַנְיָ֔הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

hachamishi netanyahu banav ve'echav shenem asar

The fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹³הַשִּׁשִּׁ֣י בֻקִּיָּ֔הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

hashishi vukkiyyahu banav ve'echav shenem asar

The sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹⁴הַשְּׁבִעִ֣י יְשַׂרְאֵ֔לָה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

hashevi'i yesar'ela banav ve'echav shenem asar

The seventh to Jesarelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹⁵הַשְּׁמִינִ֣י יְשַֽׁעְיָ֔הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

hashemini yesha'yahu banav ve'echav shenem asar

The eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹⁶הַתְּשִׁיעִ֣י מַתַּנְיָ֔הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

hatteshi'i mattanyahu banav ve'echav shenem asar

The ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹⁷הָעֲשִׂירִ֣י שִׁמְעִ֔י בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

ha'asiri shim'i banav ve'echav shenem asar

The tenth to Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹⁸עַשְׁתֵּֽי־עָשָׂ֣ר עֲזַרְאֵ֔ל בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

ashte-asar azar'el banav ve'echav shenem asar

The eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

¹⁹הַשְּׁנֵ֤ים עָשָׂר֙ לַחֲשַׁבְיָ֔ה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

hashenem asar lachashavya banav ve'echav shenem asar

The twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²⁰לִשְׁלֹשָׁ֤ה עָשָׂר֙ שֽׁוּבָאֵ֔ל בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

lishlosha asar shuva'el banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²¹לְאַרְבָּעָ֤ה עָשָׂר֙ מַתִּתְיָ֔הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

le'arba'a asar mattityahu banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²²לַחֲמִשָּׁ֤ה עָשָׂר֙ לִֽירֵמ֔וֹת בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

lachamisha asar liremot banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²³לְשִׁשָּׁ֤ה עָשָׂר֙ לַחֲנַנְיָ֔הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

leshisha asar lachananyahu banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²⁴לְשִׁבְעָ֤ה עָשָׂר֙ לְיָשְׁבְּקָ֔שָׁה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

leshiv'a asar leyashbekasha banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²⁵לִשְׁמוֹנָ֤ה עָשָׂר֙ לַחֲנָ֔נִי בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

lishmona asar lachanani banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²⁶לְתִשְׁעָ֤ה עָשָׂר֙ לְמַלּ֔וֹתִי בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

letish'a asar lemalloti banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²⁷לְעֶשְׂרִים֙ לֶֽאֱלִיָּ֔תָה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

le'esrim le'eliyyata banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²⁸לְאֶחָ֤ד וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ לְהוֹתִ֔יר בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

le'echad ve'esrim lehotir banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the one and twentieth to Hothir, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

²⁹לִשְׁנַ֤יִם וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ לְגִדַּ֔לְתִּי בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

lishnayim ve'esrim legiddalti banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the two and twentieth to Giddalti, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

³⁰לִשְׁלֹשָׁ֤ה וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ לְמַ֣חֲזִיא֔וֹת בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

lishlosha ve'esrim lemachaziot banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the three and twentieth to Mahazioth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

³¹לְאַרְבָּעָ֤ה וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ לְרוֹמַ֣מְתִּי עָ֔זֶר בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

le'arba'a ve'esrim leromamti azer banav ve'echav shenem asar

For the four and twentieth to Romamti-ezer, his sons and his brethren, twelve.

⁸They cast lots for their offices, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the student.

⁹Now the first lot came out for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, he and his brothers and sons were twelve;

¹⁰the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

¹¹the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

¹²the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

¹³the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
