¹אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רְאוּבֵ֤ן שִׁמְעוֹן֙ לֵוִ֣י וִיהוּדָ֔ה יִשָׂשכָ֖ר וּזְבֻלֽוּן׃

elle bene yisra'el reuven shim'on levi vihuda yisashkhar uzevulun

These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun;

²דָּ֚ן יוֹסֵ֣ף וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן נַפְתָּלִ֖י גָּ֥ד וְאָשֵֽׁר׃

dan yosef uvinyamin naftali gad ve'asher

Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

³בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה עֵ֤ר וְאוֹנָן֙ וְשֵׁלָ֔ה שְׁלוֹשָׁה֙ נ֣וֹלַד ל֔וֹ מִבַּת־שׁ֖וּעַ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑ית וַיְהִ֞י עֵ֣ר ׀ בְּכ֣וֹר יְהוּדָ֗ה רַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה וַיְמִיתֵֽהוּ׃

bene yehuda er veonan veshela shelosha nolad lo mibbat-shua hakkena'anit vayhi er bekhor yehuda ra' be'ene ADONAI vaymitehu

The sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah; which three were born unto him of Bath-shua the Canaanitess. And Er, Judah’s first-born, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and He slew him.

⁴וְתָמָר֙ כַּלָּת֔וֹ יָ֥לְדָה לּ֖וֹ אֶת־פֶּ֣רֶץ וְאֶת־זָ֑רַח כָּל־בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃

vetamar kallato yalda lo et-peretz ve'et-zarach kal-bene yehuda chamisha

And Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

⁵בְּנֵי־פֶ֖רֶץ חֶצְר֥וֹן וְחָמֽוּל׃

bene-feretz chetzron vechamul

The sons of Perez: Hezron, and Hamul.

⁶וּבְנֵ֣י זֶ֗רַח זִ֠מְרִי וְאֵיתָ֧ן וְהֵימָ֛ן וְכַלְכֹּ֥ל וָדָ֖רַע כֻּלָּ֥ם חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃

uvene zerach zimri ve'etan veheman vekhalkol vadara' kullam chamisha

And the sons of Zerah: Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all.

⁷וּבְנֵ֖י כַּרְמִ֑י עָכָר֙ עוֹכֵ֣ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָעַ֖ל בַּחֵֽרֶם׃

uvene karmi akhar okher yisra'el asher ma'al bacherem

And the sons of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who committed a trespass concerning the devoted thing.

⁸וּבְנֵ֥י אֵיתָ֖ן עֲזַרְיָֽה׃

uvene etan azarya

And the sons of Ethan: Azariah.

⁹וּבְנֵ֥י חֶצְר֖וֹן אֲשֶׁ֣ר נוֹלַד־ל֑וֹ אֶת־יְרַחְמְאֵ֥ל וְאֶת־רָ֖ם וְאֶת־כְּלוּבָֽי׃

uvene chetzron asher nolad-lo et-yerachme'el ve'et-ram ve'et-keluvay

The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him: Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

¹⁰וְרָ֖ם הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־עַמִּינָדָ֑ב וְעַמִּינָדָב֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־נַחְשׁ֔וֹן נְשִׂ֖יא בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃

veram holid et-amminadav ve'amminadav holid et-nachshon nesi bene yehuda

And Ram begot Amminadab; and Amminadab begot Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;

¹¹וְנַחְשׁוֹן֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־שַׂלְמָ֔א וְשַׂלְמָ֖א הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בֹּֽעַז׃

venachshon holid et-salma vesalma holid et-bo'az

and Nahshon begot Salma, and Salma begot Boaz;

¹²וּבֹ֨עַז֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־עוֹבֵ֔ד וְעוֹבֵ֖ד הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־יִשָֽׁי׃

uvo'az holid et-oved ve'oved holid et-yishay

and Boaz begot Obed, and Obed begot Jesse;

¹³וְאִישַׁ֛י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בְּכֹר֖וֹ אֶת־אֱלִיאָ֑ב וַאֲבִינָדָב֙ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י וְשִׁמְעָ֖א הַשְּׁלִישִֽׁי׃

ve'ishay holid et-bekhoro et-eli'av va'avinadav hasheni veshim'a hashelishi

and Jesse begot his first-born Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third;

¹⁴נְתַנְאֵל֙ הָֽרְבִיעִ֔י רַדַּ֖י הַחֲמִישִֽׁי׃

netan'el harvi'i radday hachamishi

Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth;

¹⁵אֹ֚צֶם הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י דָּוִ֖יד הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃

otzem hashishi david hashevi'i

Ozem the sixth, David the seventh.

¹⁶ואחיתיהם [וְאַחְיוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם] צְרוּיָ֣ה וַאֲבִיגָ֑יִל וּבְנֵ֣י צְרוּיָ֗ה אַבְשַׁ֛י וְיוֹאָ֥ב וַעֲשָׂה־אֵ֖ל שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃

ve'achyotehem tzeruya va'avigayil uvene tzeruya avshay veyo'av va'asa-el shelosha

And their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.

¹⁷וַאֲבִיגַ֕יִל יָלְדָ֖ה אֶת־עֲמָשָׂ֑א וַאֲבִ֣י עֲמָשָׂ֔א יֶ֖תֶר הַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִֽי׃

va'avigayil yalda et-amasa va'avi amasa yeter hayyishme'eli

And Abigail bore Amasa; and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.

¹⁸וְכָלֵ֣ב בֶּן־חֶצְר֗וֹן הוֹלִ֛יד אֶת־עֲזוּבָ֥ה אִשָּׁ֖ה וְאֶת־יְרִיע֑וֹת וְאֵ֣לֶּה בָנֶ֔יהָ יֵ֥שֶׁר וְשׁוֹבָ֖ב וְאַרְדּֽוֹן׃

vekhalev ben-chetzron holid et-azuva isha ve'et-yeri'ot ve'elle vaneha yesher veshovav ve'ardon

And Caleb the son of Hezron begot children of Azubah his wife—and of Jerioth—and these were her sons: Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.

¹⁹וַתָּ֖מָת עֲזוּבָ֑ה וַיִּֽקַּֽח־ל֤וֹ כָלֵב֙ אֶת־אֶפְרָ֔ת וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־חֽוּר׃

vattamat azuva vayyikkach-lo khalev et-efrat vatteled lo et-chur

And Azubah died, and Caleb took unto him Ephrath, who bore him Hur.

²⁰וְחוּר֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אוּרִ֔י וְאוּרִ֖י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־בְּצַלְאֵֽל׃

vechur holid et-uri veuri holid et-betzal'el

And Hur begot Uri, and Uri begot Bezalel.

²¹וְאַחַ֗ר בָּ֤א חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֶל־בַּת־מָכִיר֙ אֲבִ֣י גִלְעָ֔ד וְה֣וּא לְקָחָ֔הּ וְה֖וּא בֶּן־שִׁשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־שְׂגֽוּב׃

ve'achar ba chetzron el-bat-makhir avi gil'ad vehu lekachah vehu ben-shishim shana vatteled lo et-seguv

And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead; whom he took to wife when he was threescore years old; and she bore him Segub.

²²וּשְׂג֖וּב הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יָאִ֑יר וַֽיְהִי־ל֗וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וְשָׁלוֹשׁ֙ עָרִ֔ים בְּאֶ֖רֶץ הַגִּלְעָֽד׃

useguv holid et-ya'ir vayhi-lo esrim veshalosh arim be'eretz haggil'ad

And Segub begot Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.

²³וַיִּקַּ֣ח גְּשֽׁוּר־וַ֠אֲרָם אֶת־חַוֺּ֨ת יָאִ֧יר מֵאִתָּ֛ם אֶת־קְנָ֥ת וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֶ֖יהָ שִׁשִּׁ֣ים עִ֑יר כָּל־אֵ֕לֶּה בְּנֵ֖י מָכִ֥יר אֲבִי־גִלְעָֽד׃

vayyikkach geshur-va'aram et-chavvot ya'ir me'ittam et-kenat ve'et-benoteha shishim ir kal-elle bene makhir avi-gil'ad

And Geshur and Aram took Havvoth-jair from them, with Kenath, and the villages thereof, even threescore cities. All these were the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

²⁴וְאַחַ֥ר מוֹת־חֶצְר֖וֹן בְּכָלֵ֣ב אֶפְרָ֑תָה וְאֵ֤שֶׁת חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֲבִיָּ֔ה וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־אַשְׁח֖וּר אֲבִ֥י תְקֽוֹעַ׃

ve'achar mot-chetzron bekhalev efrata ve'eshet chetzron aviyya vatteled lo et-ashchur avi tekoa

And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb-ephrath, then Abiah Hezron’s wife bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.

²⁵וַיִּהְי֧וּ בְנֵי־יְרַחְמְאֵ֛ל בְּכ֥וֹר חֶצְר֖וֹן הַבְּכ֣וֹר ׀ רָ֑ם וּבוּנָ֥ה וָאֹ֛רֶן וָאֹ֖צֶם אֲחִיָּֽה׃

vayyihyu vene-yerachme'el bekhor chetzron habbekhor ram uvuna va'oren va'otzem achiyya

And the sons of Jerahmeel the first-born of Hezron were Ram the first-born, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, Ahijah.

²⁶וַתְּהִ֨י אִשָּׁ֥ה אַחֶ֛רֶת לִֽירַחְמְאֵ֖ל וּשְׁמָ֣הּ עֲטָרָ֑ה הִ֖יא אֵ֥ם אוֹנָֽם׃

vattehi isha acheret lirachme'el ushemah atara hi em onam

And Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

²⁷וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־רָ֖ם בְּכ֣וֹר יְרַחְמְאֵ֑ל מַ֥עַץ וְיָמִ֖ין וָעֵֽקֶר׃

vayyihyu vene-ram bekhor yerachme'el ma'atz veyamin va'eker

And the sons of Ram the first-born of Jerahmeel were Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.

²⁸וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־אוֹנָ֖ם שַׁמַּ֣י וְיָדָ֑ע וּבְנֵ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י נָדָ֖ב וַאֲבִישֽׁוּר׃

vayyihyu vene-onam shammay veyada' uvene shammay nadav va'avishur

And the sons of Onam were Shammai, and Jada; and the sons of Shammai: Nadab, and Abishur.

²⁹וְשֵׁ֛ם אֵ֥שֶׁת אֲבִישׁ֖וּר אֲבִיהָ֑יִל וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־אַחְבָּ֖ן וְאֶת־מוֹלִֽיד׃

veshem eshet avishur avihayil vatteled lo et-achban ve'et-molid

And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail; and she bore him Ahban, and Molid.

³⁰וּבְנֵ֥י נָדָ֖ב סֶ֣לֶד וְאַפָּ֑יִם וַיָּ֥מָת סֶ֖לֶד לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃

uvene nadav seled ve'appayim vayyamat seled lo vanim

And the sons of Nadab: Seled, and Appaim; but Seled died without children.

³¹וּבְנֵ֥י אַפַּ֖יִם יִשְׁעִ֑י וּבְנֵ֤י יִשְׁעִי֙ שֵׁשָׁ֔ן וּבְנֵ֥י שֵׁשָׁ֖ן אַחְלָֽי׃

uvene appayim yish'i uvene yish'i sheshan uvene sheshan achlay

And the sons of Appaim: Ishi. And the sons of Ishi: Sheshan. And the sons of Sheshan: Ahlai.

³²וּבְנֵ֤י יָדָע֙ אֲחִ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י יֶ֖תֶר וְיוֹנָתָ֑ן וַיָּ֥מָת יֶ֖תֶר לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃

uvene yada' achi shammay yeter veyonatan vayyamat yeter lo vanim

And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.

³³וּבְנֵ֥י יוֹנָתָ֖ן פֶּ֣לֶת וְזָזָ֑א אֵ֥לֶּה הָי֖וּ בְּנֵ֥י יְרַחְמְאֵֽל׃

uvene yonatan pelet vezaza elle hayu bene yerachme'el

And the sons of Jonathan: Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

³⁴וְלֹֽא־הָיָ֧ה לְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן בָּנִ֖ים כִּ֣י אִם־בָּנ֑וֹת וּלְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן עֶ֥בֶד מִצְרִ֖י וּשְׁמ֥וֹ יַרְחָֽע׃

velo-haya lesheshan banim ki im-banot ulesheshan eved mitzri ushemo yarcha'

Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.

³⁵וַיִּתֵּ֨ן שֵׁשָׁ֧ן אֶת־בִּתּ֛וֹ לְיַרְחָ֥ע עַבְדּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־עַתָּֽי׃

vayyitten sheshan et-bitto leyarcha' avdo le'isha vatteled lo et-attay

So Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bore him Attai.

³⁶וְעַתַּי֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־נָתָ֔ן וְנָתָ֖ן הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־זָבָֽד׃

ve'attay holid et-natan venatan holid et-zavad

And Attai begot Nathan, and Nathan begot Zabad;

³⁷וְזָבָד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אֶפְלָ֔ל וְאֶפְלָ֖ל הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־עוֹבֵֽד׃

vezavad holid et-eflal ve'eflal holid et-oved

and Zabad begot Ephlal, and Ephlal begot Obed;

³⁸וְעוֹבֵד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יֵה֔וּא וְיֵה֖וּא הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־עֲזַרְיָֽה׃

ve'oved holid et-yehu veyehu holid et-azarya

and Obed begot Jehu, and Jehu begot Azariah;

³⁹וַעֲזַרְיָה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־חָ֔לֶץ וְחֶ֖לֶץ הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־אֶלְעָשָֽׂה׃

va'azarya holid et-chaletz vecheletz holid et-el'asa

and Azariah begot Helez, and Helez begot Eleasah;

⁴⁰וְאֶלְעָשָׂה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־סִֽסְמָ֔י וְסִסְמַ֖י הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־שַׁלּֽוּם׃

ve'el'asa holid et-sismay vesismay holid et-shallum

and Eleasah begot Sisamai, and Sisamai begot Shallum;

⁴¹וְשַׁלּוּם֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־יְקַמְיָ֔ה וִֽיקַמְיָ֖ה הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־אֱלִישָׁמָֽע׃

veshallum holid et-yekamya vikamya holid et-elishama'

and Shallum begot Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begot Elishama.

⁴²וּבְנֵ֤י כָלֵב֙ אֲחִ֣י יְרַחְמְאֵ֔ל מֵישָׁ֥ע בְּכֹר֖וֹ ה֣וּא אֲבִי־זִ֑יף וּבְנֵ֥י מָרֵשָׁ֖ה אֲבִ֥י חֶבְרֽוֹן׃

uvene khalev achi yerachme'el mesha' bekhoro hu avi-zif uvene maresha avi chevron

And the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were Mesha his first-born, who was the father of Ziph, and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

⁴³וּבְנֵ֖י חֶבְר֑וֹן קֹ֥רַח וְתַפֻּ֖חַ וְרֶ֥קֶם וָשָֽׁמַע׃

uvene chevron korach vetappuach verekem vashama'

And the sons of Hebron: Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema.

⁴⁴וְשֶׁ֣מַע הוֹלִ֔יד אֶת־רַ֖חַם אֲבִ֣י יָרְקֳעָ֑ם וְרֶ֖קֶם הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־שַׁמָּֽי׃

veshema' holid et-racham avi yarko'am verekem holid et-shammay

And Shema begot Raham, the father of Jorkeam; and Rekem begot Shammai.

⁴⁵וּבֶן־שַׁמַּ֖י מָע֑וֹן וּמָע֖וֹן אֲבִ֥י בֵֽית־צֽוּר׃

uven-shammay ma'on uma'on avi vet-tzur

And the son of Shammai was Maon; and Maon was the father of Beth-zur.

⁴⁶וְעֵיפָה֙ פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ כָּלֵ֔ב יָֽלְדָ֛ה אֶת־חָרָ֥ן וְאֶת־מוֹצָ֖א וְאֶת־גָּזֵ֑ז וְחָרָ֖ן הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־גָּזֵֽז׃

ve'efa pilegesh kalev yalda et-charan ve'et-motza ve'et-gazez vecharan holid et-gazez

And Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Haran, and Moza, and Gazez; and Haran begot Gazez.

⁴⁷וּבְנֵ֖י יָהְדָּ֑י רֶ֧גֶם וְיוֹתָ֛ם וְגֵישָׁ֥ן וָפֶ֖לֶט וְעֵיפָ֥ה וָשָֽׁעַף׃

uvene yahday regem veyotam vegeshan vafelet ve'efa vasha'af

And the sons of Jahdai: Regem, and Jotham, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.

⁴⁸פִּלֶ֤גֶשׁ כָּלֵב֙ מַעֲכָ֔ה יָ֥לַד שֶׁ֖בֶר וְאֶֽת־תִּרְחֲנָֽה׃

pilegesh kalev ma'akha yalad shever ve'et-tirchana

Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.

⁴⁹וַתֵּ֗לֶד שַׁ֚עַף אֲבִ֣י מַדְמַנָּ֔ה אֶת־שְׁוָ֛א אֲבִ֥י מַכְבֵּנָ֖ה וַאֲבִ֣י גִבְעָ֑א וּבַת־כָּלֵ֖ב עַכְסָֽה׃

vatteled sha'af avi madmanna et-sheva avi makhbena va'avi giv'a uvat-kalev akhsa

And [the wife of] Shaaph the father of Madmannah bore Sheva the father of Machbenah and the father of Gibea. And the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

⁵⁰אֵ֤לֶּה הָיוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י כָלֵ֔ב בֶּן־ח֖וּר בְּכ֣וֹר אֶפְרָ֑תָה שׁוֹבָ֕ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֥ת יְעָרִֽים׃

elle hayu bene khalev ben-chur bekhor efrata shoval avi kiryat ye'arim

These were the sons of Caleb. The sons of Hur the first-born of Ephrath: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim;

⁵¹שַׂלְמָא֙ אֲבִ֣י בֵֽית־לָ֔חֶם חָרֵ֖ף אֲבִ֥י בֵית־גָּדֵֽר׃

salma avi vet-lachem charef avi vet-gader

Salma the father of Beth-lehem, Hareph the father of Beth-gader.

⁵²וַיִּהְי֤וּ בָנִים֙ לְשׁוֹבָ֔ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֑ים הָרֹאֶ֖ה חֲצִ֥י הַמְּנֻחֽוֹת׃

vayyihyu vanim leshoval avi kiryat ye'arim haro'e chatzi hammenuchot

And Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons: Haroeh, and half of the Menuhoth.

⁵³וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת֙ קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֔ים הַיִּתְרִי֙ וְהַפּוּתִ֔י וְהַשֻּׁמָתִ֖י וְהַמִּשְׁרָעִ֑י מֵאֵ֗לֶּה יָצְאוּ֙ הַצָּ֣רְעָתִ֔י וְהָאֶשְׁתָּ֖אֻֽלִֽי׃

umishpechot kiryat ye'arim hayyitri vehapputi vehashumati vehammishra'i me'elle yatzu hatzar'ati veha'eshta'uli

And the families of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, and the Puthites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zorathites, and the Eshtaolites.

⁵⁴בְּנֵ֣י שַׂלְמָ֗א בֵּ֥ית לֶ֨חֶם֙ וּנְט֣וֹפָתִ֔י עַטְר֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית יוֹאָ֑ב וַחֲצִ֥י הַמָּנַחְתִּ֖י הַצָּרְעִֽי׃

bene salma bet lechem unetofati atrot bet yo'av vachatzi hammanachti hatzar'i

The sons of Salma: Beth-lehem, and the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.

⁵⁵וּמִשְׁפְּח֤וֹת סֹפְרִים֙ ישבו [יֹשְׁבֵ֣י] יַעְבֵּ֔ץ תִּרְעָתִ֥ים שִׁמְעָתִ֖ים שׂוּכָתִ֑ים הֵ֚מָּה הַקִּינִ֣ים הַבָּאִ֔ים מֵחַמַּ֖ת אֲבִ֥י בֵית־רֵכָֽב׃

umishpechot sofrim yoshve ya'betz tir'atim shim'atim sukhatim hemma hakkinim habba'im mechammat avi vet-rekhav

And the families of scribes that dwelt at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, the Sucathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.

¹These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

²Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

³The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah, which three were born to him of Shua’s daughter the Canaanitess. Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the LORD’s sight; and he killed him.

⁴Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

⁵The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.

⁶The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara—five of them in all.

⁷The son of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who committed a trespass in the devoted thing.

⁸The son of Ethan: Azariah.

⁹The sons also of Hezron, who were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

¹⁰Ram became the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;

¹¹and Nahshon became the father of Salma, and Salma became the father of Boaz,

¹²and Boaz became the father of Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse;

¹³and Jesse became the father of his firstborn Eliab, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third,

¹⁴Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,

¹⁵Ozem the sixth, and David the seventh;

¹⁶and their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three.

¹⁷Abigail bore Amasa; and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.

¹⁸Caleb the son of Hezron became the father of children by Azubah his wife, and by Jerioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.

¹⁹Azubah died, and Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.

²⁰Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel.

²¹Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he took as wife when he was sixty years old; and she bore him Segub.

²²Segub became the father of Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

²³Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, with Kenath, and its villages, even sixty cities. All these were the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

²⁴After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Abijah, Hezron’s wife, bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.

²⁵The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were Ram the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.

²⁶Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah. She was the mother of Onam.

²⁷The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

²⁸The sons of Onam were Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur.

²⁹The name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail; and she bore him Ahban and Molid.

³⁰The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim; but Seled died without children.

³¹The son of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Ahlai.

³²The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan; and Jether died without children.

³³The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

³⁴Now Sheshan had no sons, but only daughters. Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.

³⁵Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as wife; and she bore him Attai.

³⁶Attai became the father of Nathan, and Nathan became the father of Zabad,

³⁷and Zabad became the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal became the father of Obed,

³⁸and Obed became the father of Jehu, and Jehu became the father of Azariah,

³⁹and Azariah became the father of Helez, and Helez became the father of Eleasah,

⁴⁰and Eleasah became the father of Sismai, and Sismai became the father of Shallum,

⁴¹and Shallum became the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah became the father of Elishama.

⁴²The sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

⁴³The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.

⁴⁴Shema became the father of Raham, the father of Jorkeam; and Rekem became the father of Shammai.

⁴⁵The son of Shammai was Maon; and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.

⁴⁶Efah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran became the father of Gazez.

⁴⁷The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jothan, Geshan, Pelet, Efah, and Shaaph.

⁴⁸Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.

⁴⁹She bore also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbena and the father of Gibea; and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

⁵⁰These were the sons of Caleb, the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim,

⁵¹Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth Gader.

⁵²Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.

⁵³The families of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; from them came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.

⁵⁴The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.

⁵⁵The families of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
