¹אֵ֜לֶּה מַסְעֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָצְא֛וּ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם לְצִבְאֹתָ֑ם בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁ֖ה וְאַהֲרֹֽן׃

elle mas'e vene-yisra'el asher yatzu me'eretz mitzrayim letziv'otam beyad-moshe ve'aharon

These are the stages of the children of Israel, by which they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

²וַיִּכְתֹּ֨ב מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶת־מוֹצָאֵיהֶ֛ם לְמַסְעֵיהֶ֖ם עַל־פִּ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְאֵ֥לֶּה מַסְעֵיהֶ֖ם לְמוֹצָאֵיהֶֽם׃

vayyikhtov moshe et-motza'ehem lemas'ehem al-pi ADONAI ve'elle mas'ehem lemotza'ehem

And Moses wrote their goings forth, stage by stage, by the commandment of the LORD; and these are their stages at their goings forth.

³וַיִּסְע֤וּ מֵֽרַעְמְסֵס֙ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָֽרִאשׁ֔וֹן בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה עָשָׂ֛ר י֖וֹם לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן מִֽמָּחֳרַ֣ת הַפֶּ֗סַח יָצְא֤וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּיָ֣ד רָמָ֔ה לְעֵינֵ֖י כָּל־מִצְרָֽיִם׃

vayyis'u mera'meses bachodesh harishon bachamisha asar yom lachodesh harishon mimmachorat happesach yatzu vene-yisra'el beyad rama le'ene kal-mitzrayim

And they journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

⁴וּמִצְרַ֣יִם מְקַבְּרִ֗ים אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִכָּ֧ה יְהוָ֛ה בָּהֶ֖ם כָּל־בְּכ֑וֹר וּבֵאלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם עָשָׂ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה שְׁפָטִֽים׃

umitzrayim mekabberim et asher hikka ADONAI bahem kal-bekhor uvelohehem asa ADONAI shefatim

while the Egyptians were burying them that the LORD had smitten among them, even all their first-born; upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments.

⁵וַיִּסְע֥וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵרַעְמְסֵ֑ס וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּסֻכֹּֽת׃

vayyis'u vene-yisra'el mera'meses vayyachanu besukkot

And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses, and pitched in Succoth.

⁶וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִסֻּכֹּ֑ת וַיַּחֲנ֣וּ בְאֵתָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר בִּקְצֵ֥ה הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃

vayyis'u missukkot vayyachanu ve'etam asher biktze hammidbar

And they journeyed from Succoth, and pitched in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

⁷וַיִּסְעוּ֙ מֵֽאֵתָ֔ם וַיָּ֨שָׁב֙ עַל־פִּ֣י הַחִירֹ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־פְּנֵ֖י בַּ֣עַל צְפ֑וֹן וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ לִפְנֵ֥י מִגְדֹּֽל׃

vayyis'u me'etam vayyashav al-pi hachirot asher al-pene ba'al tzefon vayyachanu lifne migdol

And they journeyed from Etham, and turned back unto Pihahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon; and they pitched before Migdol.

⁸וַיִּסְעוּ֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י הַֽחִירֹ֔ת וַיַּֽעַבְר֥וּ בְתוֹךְ־הַיָּ֖ם הַמִּדְבָּ֑רָה וַיֵּ֨לְכ֜וּ דֶּ֣רֶךְ שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת יָמִים֙ בְּמִדְבַּ֣ר אֵתָ֔ם וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּמָרָֽה׃

vayyis'u mippene hachirot vayya'avru vetokh-hayyam hammidbara vayyelkhu derekh sheloshet yamim bemidbar etam vayyachanu bemara

And they journeyed from Penehahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness; and they went three days’journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah.

⁹וַיִּסְעוּ֙ מִמָּרָ֔ה וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ אֵילִ֑מָה וּ֠בְאֵילִם שְׁתֵּ֣ים עֶשְׂרֵ֞ה עֵינֹ֥ת מַ֛יִם וְשִׁבְעִ֥ים תְּמָרִ֖ים וַיַּחֲנוּ־שָֽׁם׃

vayyis'u mimmara vayyavou elima uve'elim shetem esre enot mayim veshiv'im temarim vayyachanu-sham

And they journeyed from Marah, and came unto Elim; and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and threescore and ten palm-trees; and they pitched there.

¹⁰וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵאֵילִ֑ם וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ עַל־יַם־סֽוּף׃

vayyis'u me'elim vayyachanu al-yam-suf

And they journeyed from Elim, and pitched by the Red Sea.

¹¹וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִיַּם־ס֑וּף וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּמִדְבַּר־סִֽין׃

vayyis'u miyyam-suf vayyachanu bemidbar-sin

And they journeyed from the Red Sea, and pitched in the wilderness of Sin.

¹²וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִמִּדְבַּר־סִ֑ין וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּדָפְקָֽה׃

vayyis'u mimmidbar-sin vayyachanu bedafka

And they journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, and pitched in Dophkah.

¹³וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִדָּפְקָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּאָלֽוּשׁ׃

vayyis'u middafka vayyachanu be'alush

And they journeyed from Dophkah, and pitched in Alush.

¹⁴וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵאָל֑וּשׁ וַֽיַּחֲנוּ֙ בִּרְפִידִ֔ם וְלֹא־הָ֨יָה שָׁ֥ם מַ֛יִם לָעָ֖ם לִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃

vayyis'u me'alush vayyachanu birfidim velo-haya sham mayim la'am lishtot

And they journeyed from Alush, and pitched in Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink.

¹⁵וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵרְפִידִ֑ם וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּמִדְבַּ֥ר סִינָֽי׃

vayyis'u merfidim vayyachanu bemidbar sinay

And they journeyed from Rephidim, and pitched in the wilderness of Sinai.

¹⁶וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִמִּדְבַּ֣ר סִינָ֑י וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּקִבְרֹ֥ת הַֽתַּאֲוָֽה׃

vayyis'u mimmidbar sinay vayyachanu bekivrot hatta'ava

And they journeyed from the wilderness of Sinai, and pitched in Kibroth-hattaavah.

¹⁷וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִקִּבְרֹ֣ת הַֽתַּאֲוָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בַּחֲצֵרֹֽת׃

vayyis'u mikkivrot hatta'ava vayyachanu bachatzerot

And they journeyed from Kibroth-hattaavah, and pitched in Hazeroth.

¹⁸וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵחֲצֵרֹ֑ת וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּרִתְמָֽה׃

vayyis'u mechatzerot vayyachanu beritma

And they journeyed from Hazeroth, and pitched in Rithmah.

¹⁹וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵרִתְמָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּרִמֹּ֥ן פָּֽרֶץ׃

vayyis'u meritma vayyachanu berimmon paretz

And they journeyed from Rithmah, and pitched in Rimmon-perez.

²⁰וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵרִמֹּ֣ן פָּ֑רֶץ וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּלִבְנָֽה׃

vayyis'u merimmon paretz vayyachanu belivna

And they journeyed from Rimmon-perez, and pitched in Libnah.

²¹וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִלִּבְנָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּרִסָּֽה׃

vayyis'u millivna vayyachanu berissa

And they journeyed from Libnah, and pitched in Rissah.

²²וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵרִסָּ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בִּקְהֵלָֽתָה׃

vayyis'u merissa vayyachanu bikhelata

And they journeyed from Rissah, and pitched in Kehelah.

²³וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִקְּהֵלָ֑תָה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּהַר־שָֽׁפֶר׃

vayyis'u mikkehelata vayyachanu behar-shafer

And they journeyed from Kehelah, and pitched in mount Shepher.

²⁴וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵֽהַר־שָׁ֑פֶר וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בַּחֲרָדָֽה׃

vayyis'u mehar-shafer vayyachanu bacharada

And they journeyed from mount Shepher, and pitched in Haradah.

²⁵וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵחֲרָדָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּמַקְהֵלֹֽת׃

vayyis'u mecharada vayyachanu bemakhelot

And they journeyed from Haradah, and pitched in Makheloth.

²⁶וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִמַּקְהֵלֹ֑ת וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּתָֽחַת׃

vayyis'u mimmakhelot vayyachanu betachat

And they journeyed from Makheloth, and pitched in Tahath.

²⁷וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִתָּ֑חַת וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּתָֽרַח׃

vayyis'u mittachat vayyachanu betarach

And they journeyed from Tahath, and pitched in Terah.

²⁸וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִתָּ֑רַח וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּמִתְקָֽה׃

vayyis'u mittarach vayyachanu bemitka

And they journeyed from Terah, and pitched in Mithkah.

²⁹וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִמִּתְקָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּחַשְׁמֹנָֽה׃

vayyis'u mimmitka vayyachanu bechashmona

And they journeyed from Mithkah, and pitched in Hashmonah.

³⁰וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵֽחַשְׁמֹנָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּמֹסֵרֽוֹת׃

vayyis'u mechashmona vayyachanu bemoserot

And they journeyed from Hashmonah, and pitched in Moseroth.

³¹וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִמֹּסֵר֑וֹת וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בִּבְנֵ֥י יַעֲקָֽן׃

vayyis'u mimmoserot vayyachanu bivne ya'akan

And they journeyed from Moseroth, and pitched in Bene-jaakan.

³²וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִבְּנֵ֣י יַעֲקָ֑ן וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּחֹ֥ר הַגִּדְגָּֽד׃

vayyis'u mibbene ya'akan vayyachanu bechor haggidgad

And they journeyed from Bene-jaakan, and pitched in Hor-haggidgad.

³³וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵחֹ֣ר הַגִּדְגָּ֑ד וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּיָטְבָֽתָה׃

vayyis'u mechor haggidgad vayyachanu beyatvata

And they journeyed from Hor-haggidgad, and pitched in Jotbah.

³⁴וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִיָּטְבָ֑תָה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּעַבְרֹנָֽה׃

vayyis'u miyyatvata vayyachanu be'avrona

And they journeyed from Jotbah, and pitched in Abronah.

³⁵וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵֽעַבְרֹנָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּעֶצְי֥וֹן גָּֽבֶר׃

vayyis'u me'avrona vayyachanu be'etzyon gaver

And they journeyed from Abronah, and pitched in Ezion-geber.

³⁶וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵעֶצְי֣וֹן גָּ֑בֶר וַיַּחֲנ֥וּ בְמִדְבַּר־צִ֖ן הִ֥וא קָדֵֽשׁ׃

vayyis'u me'etzyon gaver vayyachanu vemidbar-tzin hiv kadesh

And they journeyed from Ezion-geber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin—the same is Kadesh.

³⁷וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִקָּדֵ֑שׁ וַֽיַּחֲנוּ֙ בְּהֹ֣ר הָהָ֔ר בִּקְצֵ֖ה אֶ֥רֶץ אֱדֽוֹם׃

vayyis'u mikkadesh vayyachanu behor hahar biktze eretz edom

And they journeyed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.—

³⁸וַיַּעַל֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אֶל־הֹ֥ר הָהָ֛ר עַל־פִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה וַיָּ֣מָת שָׁ֑ם בִּשְׁנַ֣ת הָֽאַרְבָּעִ֗ים לְצֵ֤את בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁ֖י בְּאֶחָ֥ד לַחֹֽדֶשׁ׃

vayya'al aharon hakkohen el-hor hahar al-pi ADONAI vayyamat sham bishnat ha'arba'im letzet bene-yisra'el me'eretz mitzrayim bachodesh hachamishi be'echad lachodesh

And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

³⁹וְאַהֲרֹ֔ן בֶּן־שָׁלֹ֧שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִ֛ים וּמְאַ֖ת שָׁנָ֑ה בְּמֹת֖וֹ בְּהֹ֥ר הָהָֽר׃

ve'aharon ben-shalosh ve'esrim ume'at shana bemoto behor hahar

And Aaron was a hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount Hor.

⁴⁰וַיִּשְׁמַ֗ע הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ עֲרָ֔ד וְהֽוּא־יֹשֵׁ֥ב בַּנֶּ֖גֶב בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן בְּבֹ֖א בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

vayyishma' hakkena'ani melekh arad vehu-yoshev bannegev be'eretz kena'an bevo bene yisra'el

And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who dwelt in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.—

⁴¹וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵהֹ֣ר הָהָ֑ר וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּצַלְמֹנָֽה׃

vayyis'u mehor hahar vayyachanu betzalmona

And they journeyed from mount Hor, and pitched in Zalmonah.

⁴²וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִצַּלְמֹנָ֑ה וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּפוּנֹֽן׃

vayyis'u mitzalmona vayyachanu befunon

And they journeyed from Zalmonah, and pitched in Punon.

⁴³וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִפּוּנֹ֑ן וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּאֹבֹֽת׃

vayyis'u mippunon vayyachanu be'ovot

And they journeyed from Punon, and pitched in Oboth.

⁴⁴וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵאֹבֹ֑ת וַֽיַּחֲנ֛וּ בְּעִיֵּ֥י הָעֲבָרִ֖ים בִּגְב֥וּל מוֹאָֽב׃

vayyis'u me'ovot vayyachanu be'iyye ha'avarim bigvul mo'av

And they journeyed from Oboth, and pitched in Ije-abarim, in the border of Moab.

⁴⁵וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵעִיִּ֑ים וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּדִיבֹ֥ן גָּֽד׃

vayyis'u me'iyyim vayyachanu bedivon gad

And they journeyed from Ijim, and pitched in Dibon-gad.

⁴⁶וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִדִּיבֹ֣ן גָּ֑ד וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בְּעַלְמֹ֥ן דִּבְלָתָֽיְמָה׃

vayyis'u middivon gad vayyachanu be'almon divlatayma

And they journeyed from Dibon-gad, and pitched in Almon-diblathaim.

⁴⁷וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵעַלְמֹ֣ן דִּבְלָתָ֑יְמָה וַֽיַּחֲנ֛וּ בְּהָרֵ֥י הָעֲבָרִ֖ים לִפְנֵ֥י נְבֽוֹ׃

vayyis'u me'almon divlatayma vayyachanu behare ha'avarim lifne nevo

And they journeyed from Almon-diblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, in front of Nebo.

⁴⁸וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵהָרֵ֣י הָעֲבָרִ֑ים וַֽיַּחֲנוּ֙ בְּעַֽרְבֹ֣ת מוֹאָ֔ב עַ֖ל יַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵחֽוֹ׃

vayyis'u mehare ha'avarim vayyachanu be'arvot mo'av al yarden yerecho

And they journeyed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

⁴⁹וַיַּחֲנ֤וּ עַל־הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ מִבֵּ֣ית הַיְשִׁמֹ֔ת עַ֖ד אָבֵ֣ל הַשִּׁטִּ֑ים בְּעַֽרְבֹ֖ת מוֹאָֽב׃

vayyachanu al-hayyarden mibbet hayshimot ad avel hashittim be'arvot mo'av

And they pitched by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth even unto Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.

⁵⁰וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּעַֽרְבֹ֣ת מוֹאָ֑ב עַל־יַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵח֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃

vaydabber ADONAI el-moshe be'arvot mo'av al-yarden yerecho lemor

And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying:

⁵¹דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם כִּ֥י אַתֶּ֛ם עֹבְרִ֥ים אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃

dabber el-bene yisra'el ve'amarta alehem ki attem ovrim et-hayyarden el-eretz kena'an

’Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them: When ye pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

⁵²וְה֨וֹרַשְׁתֶּ֜ם אֶת־כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵ֤י הָאָ֨רֶץ֙ מִפְּנֵיכֶ֔ם וְאִ֨בַּדְתֶּ֔ם אֵ֖ת כָּל־מַשְׂכִּיֹּתָ֑ם וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־צַלְמֵ֤י מַסֵּֽכֹתָם֙ תְּאַבֵּ֔דוּ וְאֵ֥ת כָּל־בָּמֹתָ֖ם תַּשְׁמִֽידוּ׃

vehorashtem et-kal-yoshve ha'aretz mippenekhem ve'ibbadtem et kal-maskiyyotam ve'et kal-tzalme massekhotam te'abbedu ve'et kal-bamotam tashmidu

then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.

⁵³וְהוֹרַשְׁתֶּ֥ם אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ וִֽישַׁבְתֶּם־בָּ֑הּ כִּ֥י לָכֶ֛ם נָתַ֥תִּי אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ לָרֶ֥שֶׁת אֹתָֽהּ׃

vehorashtem et-ha'aretz vishavtem-bah ki lakhem natatti et-ha'aretz lareshet otah

And ye shall drive out the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein; for unto you have I given the land to possess it.

⁵⁴וְהִתְנַחַלְתֶּם֩ אֶת־הָאָ֨רֶץ בְּגוֹרָ֜ל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶ֗ם לָרַ֞ב תַּרְבּ֤וּ אֶת־נַחֲלָתוֹ֙ וְלַמְעַט֙ תַּמְעִ֣יט אֶת־נַחֲלָת֔וֹ אֶל֩ אֲשֶׁר־יֵ֨צֵא ל֥וֹ שָׁ֛מָּה הַגּוֹרָ֖ל ל֣וֹ יִהְיֶ֑ה לְמַטּ֥וֹת אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם תִּתְנֶחָֽלוּ׃

vehitnachaltem et-ha'aretz begoral lemishpechotekhem larav tarbu et-nachalato velam'at tam'it et-nachalato el asher-yetze lo shamma haggoral lo yihye lemattot avotekhem titnechalu

And ye shall inherit the land by lot according to your families—to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer thou shalt give the less inheritance; wheresoever the lot falleth to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers shall ye inherit.

⁵⁵וְאִם־לֹ֨א תוֹרִ֜ישׁוּ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָרֶץ֮ מִפְּנֵיכֶם֒ וְהָיָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תּוֹתִ֣ירוּ מֵהֶ֔ם לְשִׂכִּים֙ בְּעֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם וְלִצְנִינִ֖ם בְּצִדֵּיכֶ֑ם וְצָרֲר֣וּ אֶתְכֶ֔ם עַל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֖ם יֹשְׁבִ֥ים בָּֽהּ׃

ve'im-lo torishu et-yoshve ha'aretz mippenekhem vehaya asher totiru mehem lesikkim be'enekhem velitzninim betziddekhem vetzararu etkhem al-ha'aretz asher attem yoshvim bah

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those that ye let remain of them be as thorns in your eyes, and as pricks in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land wherein ye dwell.

⁵⁶וְהָיָ֗ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּמִּ֛יתִי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָהֶ֖ם אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃

vehaya ka'asher dimmiti la'asot lahem e'ese lakhem

And it shall come to pass, that as I thought to do unto them, so will I do unto you.

¹These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

²Moses wrote the starting points of their journeys by the commandment of the LORD. These are their journeys according to their starting points.

³They traveled from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover, the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

⁴while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck among them. The LORD also executed judgments on their gods.

⁵The children of Israel traveled from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.

⁶They traveled from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

⁷They traveled from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal Zephon, and they encamped before Migdol.

⁸They traveled from before Hahiroth, and crossed through the middle of the sea into the wilderness. They went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

⁹They traveled from Marah, and came to Elim. In Elim, there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they encamped there.

¹⁰They traveled from Elim, and encamped by the Sea of Suf.

¹¹They traveled from the Sea of Suf, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.

¹²They traveled from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.

¹³They traveled from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.

¹⁴They traveled from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.

¹⁵They traveled from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai.

¹⁶They traveled from the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped in Kibroth Hattaavah.

¹⁷They traveled from Kibroth Hattaavah, and encamped in Hazeroth.

¹⁸They traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in Rithmah.

²⁰They traveled from Rimmon Perez, and encamped in Libnah.

³⁰They traveled from Hashmonah, and encamped in Moseroth.

³¹They traveled from Moseroth, and encamped in Bene Jaakan.

³²They traveled from Bene Jaakan, and encamped in Hor Haggidgad.

³³They traveled from Hor Haggidgad, and encamped in Jotbathah.

³⁴They traveled from Jotbathah, and encamped in Abronah.

³⁵They traveled from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion Geber.

³⁶They traveled from Ezion Geber, and encamped at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

³⁷They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

³⁸Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

³⁹Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

⁴⁰The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

⁴¹They traveled from Mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.

⁴²They traveled from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.

⁴³They traveled from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.

⁴⁴They traveled from Oboth, and encamped in Iye Abarim, in the border of Moab.

⁴⁵They traveled from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon Gad.

⁴⁶They traveled from Dibon Gad, and encamped in Almon Diblathaim.

⁴⁷They traveled from Almon Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

⁴⁸They traveled from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

⁴⁹They encamped by the Jordan, from Beth Jeshimoth even to Abel Shittim in the plains of Moab.

⁵⁰The LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁵¹Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, “When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

⁵²then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their stone idols, destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.

⁵³You shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given the land to you to possess it.

⁵⁴You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the larger groups you shall give a larger inheritance, and to the smaller you shall give a smaller inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

⁵⁵“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be like pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land in which you dwell.

⁵⁶It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so I will do to you.”
