Job 26

vayya'an iyyov vayyomar

Then Job answered and said:

me-azarta lelo-khoach hosha'ta zeroa lo-oz

How hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!

ma-ya'atzta lelo chakhma vetushiyya larov hoda'ta

How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!

et-mi higgadta millin venishmat-mi yatz'a mimmekka

With whose help hast thou uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from thee?

harfa'im yecholalu mittachat mayim veshokhnehem

The shades tremble Beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.

The nether-world is naked before Him, And Destruction hath no covering.

note tzafon al-tohu tole eretz al-beli-ma

He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, And hangeth the earth over nothing.

tzorer-mayim be'avav velo-nivka' anan tachtam

He bindeth up the waters in His thick clouds; And the cloud is not rent under them.

me'achez pene-khisse parshez alav anano

He closeth in the face of His throne, And spreadeth His cloud upon it.

chok-chag al-pene-mayim ad-takhlit or im-choshekh

He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, Unto the confines of light and darkness.

ammude shamayim yerofafu veyitmehu migga'arato

The pillars of heaven tremble And are astonished at His rebuke.

bekhocho raga' hayyam uvitvunato machatz rahav

He stirreth up the sea with His power, And by His understanding He smiteth through Rahab.

berucho shamayim shifra cholala yado nachash bariach

By His breath the heavens are serene; His hand hath pierced the slant serpent.

hen-elle ketzot derakhav uma-shemetz davar nishma'-bo vera'am gevurotav mi yitbonan

Lo, these are but the outskirts of His ways; And how small a whisper is heard of Him! But the thunder of His mighty deeds who can understand?
