Job 25 אִיּוֹב

¹וַ֭יַּעַן בִּלְדַּ֥ד הַשֻּׁחִ֗י וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

vayya'an bildad hashuchi vayyomar

1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said:

²הַמְשֵׁ֣ל וָפַ֣חַד עִמּ֑וֹ עֹשֶׂ֥ה שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם בִּמְרוֹמָֽיו׃

hamshel vafachad immo ose shalom bimromav

2Dominion and fear are with Him; He maketh peace in His high places.

³הֲיֵ֣שׁ מִ֭סְפָּר לִגְדוּדָ֑יו וְעַל־מִ֝֗י לֹא־יָק֥וּם אוֹרֵֽהוּ׃

hayesh mispar ligdudav ve'al-mi lo-yakum orehu

3Is there any number of His armies? And upon whom doth not His light arise?

⁴וּמַה־יִּצְדַּ֣ק אֱנ֣וֹשׁ עִם־אֵ֑ל וּמַה־יִּ֝זְכֶּ֗ה יְל֣וּד אִשָּֽׁה׃

uma-yitzdak enosh im-el uma-yizke yelud isha

4How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁵הֵ֣ן עַד־יָ֭רֵחַ וְלֹ֣א יַאֲהִ֑יל וְ֝כוֹכָבִ֗ים לֹא־זַכּ֥וּ בְעֵינָֽיו׃

hen ad-yareach velo ya'ahil vekhokhavim lo-zakku ve'enav

5Behold, even the moon hath no brightness, And the stars are not pure in His sight;

⁶אַ֭ף כִּֽי־אֱנ֣וֹשׁ רִמָּ֑ה וּבֶן־אָ֝דָ֗ם תּוֹלֵעָֽה׃

af ki-enosh rimma uven-adam tole'a

6How much less man, that is a worm! And the son of man, that is a maggot!
