¹וַיְבִיאֵ֖נִי אֶל־הַהֵיכָ֑ל וַיָּ֣מָד אֶת־הָאֵילִ֗ים שֵׁשׁ־אַמּ֨וֹת רֹ֧חַב־מִפּ֛וֹ וְשֵׁשׁ־אַמּֽוֹת־רֹ֥חַב מִפּ֖וֹ רֹ֥חַב הָאֹֽהֶל׃

vayvi'eni el-hahekhal vayyamad et-ha'elim shesh-ammot rochav-mippo veshesh-ammot-rochav mippo rochav ha'ohel

And he brought me to athe temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tent.

²וְרֹ֣חַב הַפֶּתַח֮ עֶ֣שֶׂר אַמּוֹת֒ וְכִתְפ֣וֹת הַפֶּ֔תַח חָמֵ֤שׁ אַמּוֹת֙ מִפּ֔וֹ וְחָמֵ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת מִפּ֑וֹ וַיָּ֤מָד אָרְכּוֹ֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים אַמָּ֔ה וְרֹ֖חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים אַמָּֽה׃

verochav happetach eser ammot vekhitfot happetach chamesh ammot mippo vechamesh ammot mippo vayyamad arko arba'im amma verochav esrim amma

And the breadth of the entrance was ten cubits; and the sides of the entrance were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side; and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits, and the breadth, twenty cubits.

³וּבָ֣א לִפְנִ֔ימָה וַיָּ֥מָד אֵֽיל־הַפֶּ֖תַח שְׁתַּ֣יִם אַמּ֑וֹת וְהַפֶּ֨תַח֙ שֵׁ֣שׁ אַמּ֔וֹת וְרֹ֥חַב הַפֶּ֖תַח שֶׁ֥בַע אַמּֽוֹת׃

uva lifnima vayyamad el-happetach shetayim ammot vehappetach shesh ammot verochav happetach sheva' ammot

Then went he inward, and measured each post of the entrance, two cubits; and the entrance, six cubits; and the breadth of the entrance, seven cubits.

⁴וַיָּ֨מָד אֶת־אָרְכּ֜וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים אַמָּ֗ה וְרֹ֛חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים אַמָּ֖ה אֶל־פְּנֵ֣י הַֽהֵיכָ֑ל וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י זֶ֖ה קֹ֥דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃

vayyamad et-arko esrim amma verochav esrim amma el-pene hahekhal vayyomer elay ze kodesh hakkodashim

And he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits, and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple; and he said unto me: ‘This is the most holy place.’

⁵וַיָּ֥מָד קִֽיר־הַבַּ֖יִת שֵׁ֣שׁ אַמּ֑וֹת וְרֹ֣חַב הַצֵּלָע֩ אַרְבַּ֨ע אַמּ֜וֹת סָבִ֧יב ׀ סָבִ֛יב לַבַּ֖יִת סָבִֽיב׃

vayyamad kir-habbayit shesh ammot verochav hatzela' arba' ammot saviv saviv labbayit saviv

Then he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the breadth of every side-chamber, four cubits, round about the house on every side.

⁶וְהַצְּלָעוֹת֩ צֵלָ֨ע אֶל־צֵלָ֜ע שָׁל֧וֹשׁ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים פְּעָמִ֗ים וּ֠בָאוֹת בַּקִּ֨יר אֲשֶׁר־לַבַּ֧יִת לַצְּלָע֛וֹת סָבִ֥יב ׀ סָבִ֖יב לִהְי֣וֹת אֲחוּזִ֑ים וְלֹֽא־יִהְי֥וּ אֲחוּזִ֖ים בְּקִ֥יר הַבָּֽיִת׃

vehatzela'ot tzela' el-tzela' shalosh usheloshim pe'amim uvaot bakkir asher-labbayit latzela'ot saviv saviv lihyot achuzim velo-yihyu achuzim bekir habbayit

And the side-chambers were one over another, three and thirty times; and there were cornices in the wall which belonged to the house for the side-chambers round about, that they might have hold therein, and not have hold in the wall of the house.

⁷וְֽרָחֲבָ֡ה וְֽנָסְבָה֩ לְמַ֨עְלָה לְמַ֜עְלָה לַצְּלָע֗וֹת כִּ֣י מֽוּסַב־הַ֠בַּיִת לְמַ֨עְלָה לְמַ֜עְלָה סָבִ֤יב ׀ סָבִיב֙ לַבַּ֔יִת עַל־כֵּ֥ן רֹֽחַב־לַבַּ֖יִת לְמָ֑עְלָה וְכֵ֧ן הַתַּחְתּוֹנָ֛ה יַעֲלֶ֥ה עַל־הָעֶלְיוֹנָ֖ה לַתִּיכוֹנָֽה׃

verachava venasva lema'la lema'la latzela'ot ki musav-habbayit lema'la lema'la saviv saviv labbayit al-ken rochav-labbayit lema'la vekhen hattachtona ya'ale al-ha'elyona lattikhona

And the side-chambers were broader as they wound about higher and higher; for the winding about of the house went higher and higher round about the house; therefore the breadth of the house continued upward; and so one went up from the lowest row to the highest by the middle.

⁸וְרָאִ֧יתִי לַבַּ֛יִת גֹּ֖בַהּ סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב מיסדות [מוּסְד֤וֹת] הַצְּלָעוֹת֙ מְל֣וֹ הַקָּנֶ֔ה שֵׁ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת אַצִּֽילָה׃

vera'iti labbayit govah saviv saviv musdot hatzela'ot melo hakkane shesh ammot atzila

I saw also that the house had a raised basement round about; the foundations of the side-chambers were a full reed of six cubits to the joining.

⁹רֹ֣חַב הַקִּ֧יר אֲֽשֶׁר־לַצֵּלָ֛ע אֶל־הַח֖וּץ חָמֵ֣שׁ אַמּ֑וֹת וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר מֻנָּ֔ח בֵּ֥ית צְלָע֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר לַבָּֽיִת׃

rochav hakkir asher-latzela' el-hachutz chamesh ammot va'asher munnach bet tzela'ot asher labbayit

The breadth of the outer wall which belonged to the side-chambers was five cubits; and so that which was left by the structure of the side-chambers that belonged to the house.

¹⁰וּבֵ֨ין הַלְּשָׁכ֜וֹת רֹ֣חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים אַמָּ֛ה סָבִ֥יב לַבַּ֖יִת סָבִ֥יב ׀ סָבִֽיב׃

uven halleshakhot rochav esrim amma saviv labbayit saviv saviv

And between the chambers was a breadth of twenty cubits round about the house on every side.

¹¹וּפֶ֤תַח הַצֵּלָע֙ לַמֻּנָּ֔ח פֶּ֤תַח אֶחָד֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן וּפֶ֥תַח אֶחָ֖ד לַדָּר֑וֹם וְרֹ֨חַב֙ מְק֣וֹם הַמֻּנָּ֔ח חָמֵ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת סָבִ֥יב ׀ סָבִֽיב׃

ufetach hatzela' lammunnach petach echad derekh hatzafon ufetach echad laddarom verochav mekom hammunnach chamesh ammot saviv saviv

And the doors of the side-chambers were toward the place that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south; and the breadth of the place that was left was five cubits round about.

¹²וְהַבִּנְיָ֡ן אֲשֶׁר֩ אֶל־פְּנֵ֨י הַגִּזְרָ֜ה פְּאַ֣ת דֶּֽרֶךְ־הַיָּ֗ם רֹ֚חַב שִׁבְעִ֣ים אַמָּ֔ה וְקִ֧יר הַבִּנְיָ֛ן חָֽמֵשׁ־אַמּ֥וֹת רֹ֖חַב סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב וְאָרְכּ֖וֹ תִּשְׁעִ֥ים אַמָּֽה׃

vehabbinyan asher el-pene haggizra pe'at derekh-hayyam rochav shiv'im amma vekir habbinyan chamesh-ammot rochav saviv saviv ve'arko tish'im amma

And the building that was before the separate place at the side toward the west was seventy cubits broad; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick round about, and the length thereof ninety cubits.

¹³וּמָדַ֣ד אֶת־הַבַּ֔יִת אֹ֖רֶךְ מֵאָ֣ה אַמָּ֑ה וְהַגִּזְרָ֤ה וְהַבִּנְיָה֙ וְקִ֣ירוֹתֶ֔יהָ אֹ֖רֶךְ מֵאָ֥ה אַמָּֽה׃

umadad et-habbayit orekh me'a amma vehaggizra vehabbinya vekiroteha orekh me'a amma

And he measured the house, a hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, a hundred cubits long;

¹⁴וְרֹחַב֩ פְּנֵ֨י הַבַּ֧יִת וְהַגִּזְרָ֛ה לַקָּדִ֖ים מֵאָ֥ה אַמָּֽה׃

verochav pene habbayit vehaggizra lakkadim me'a amma

also the breadth of the face of the house and of the separate place toward the east, a hundred cubits.

¹⁵וּמָדַ֣ד אֹֽרֶךְ־הַ֠בִּנְיָן אֶל־פְּנֵ֨י הַגִּזְרָ֜ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר עַל־אַחֲרֶ֧יהָ ואתוקיהא [וְאַתִּיקֶ֛יהָא] מִפּ֥וֹ וּמִפּ֖וֹ מֵאָ֣ה אַמָּ֑ה וְהַֽהֵיכָל֙ הַפְּנִימִ֔י וְאֻֽלַמֵּ֖י הֶחָצֵֽר׃

umadad orekh-habbinyan el-pene haggizra asher al-achareha ve'attikeha mippo umippo me'a amma vehahekhal happenimi ve'ulamme hechatzer

And he measured the length of the building before the separate place which was at the back thereof, and the galleries thereof on the one side and on the other side, a hundred cubits. Now the temple, and the inner place, and the porches of the court,

¹⁶הַסִּפִּ֡ים וְהַחַלּוֹנִ֣ים הָ֠אֲטֻמוֹת וְהָאַתִּיקִ֤ים ׀ סָבִיב֙ לִשְׁלָשְׁתָּ֔ם נֶ֧גֶד הַסַּ֛ף שְׂחִ֥יף עֵ֖ץ סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב וְהָאָ֨רֶץ֙ עַד־הַֽחַלֹּנ֔וֹת וְהַֽחַלֹּנ֖וֹת מְכֻסּֽוֹת׃

hassippim vehachallonim ha'atumot veha'attikim saviv lishlashtam neged hassaf sechif etz saviv saviv veha'aretz ad-hachallonot vehachallonot mekhussot

the jambs, and the narrow windows, and the galleries, that they three had round about, over against the jambs there was a veneering of wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows; and the windows were covered;

¹⁷עַל־מֵעַ֣ל הַפֶּ֡תַח וְעַד־הַבַּיִת֩ הַפְּנִימִ֨י וְלַח֜וּץ וְאֶל־כָּל־הַקִּ֨יר סָבִ֧יב ׀ סָבִ֛יב בַּפְּנִימִ֥י וּבַחִיצ֖וֹן מִדּֽוֹת׃

al-me'al happetach ve'ad-habbayit happenimi velachutz ve'el-kal-hakkir saviv saviv bappenimi uvachitzon middot

to the space above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and on all the wall round about within and without, by measure.

¹⁸וְעָשׂ֥וּי כְּרוּבִ֖ים וְתִֽמֹרִ֑ים וְתִֽמֹרָה֙ בֵּין־כְּר֣וּב לִכְר֔וּב וּשְׁנַ֥יִם פָּנִ֖ים לַכְּרֽוּב׃

ve'asuy keruvim vetimorim vetimora ben-keruv likhruv ushenayim panim lakkeruv

And it was made with cherubim and palm-trees; and a palm-tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces;

¹⁹וּפְנֵ֨י אָדָ֤ם אֶל־הַתִּֽמֹרָה֙ מִפּ֔וֹ וּפְנֵֽי־כְפִ֥יר אֶל־הַתִּֽמֹרָ֖ה מִפּ֑וֹ עָשׂ֥וּי אֶל־כָּל־הַבַּ֖יִת סָבִ֥יב ׀ סָבִֽיב׃

ufene adam el-hattimora mippo ufene-khefir el-hattimora mippo asuy el-kal-habbayit saviv saviv

so that there was the face of a man toward the palm-tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm-tree on the other side; thus was it made through all the house round about.

²⁰מֵהָאָ֨רֶץ֙ עַד־מֵעַ֣ל הַפֶּ֔תַח הַכְּרוּבִ֥ים וְהַתִּֽמֹרִ֖ים עֲשׂוּיִ֑ם וְקִ֖יר הַׄהֵׄיׄכָֽׄלׄ׃

meha'aretz ad-me'al happetach hakkeruvim vehattimorim asuyim vekir hahekhal

From the ground unto above the door were cherubim and palm-trees made; and so on the wall of the temple.

²¹הַֽהֵיכָ֖ל מְזוּזַ֣ת רְבֻעָ֑ה וּפְנֵ֣י הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ הַמַּרְאֶ֖ה כַּמַּרְאֶֽה׃

hahekhal mezuzat revu'a ufene hakkodesh hammar'e kammar'e

As for the temple, the jambs were squared; and the face of the sanctuary had an appearance such as is the appearance.

²²הַמִּזְבֵּ֡חַ עֵ֣ץ שָׁלוֹשׁ֩ אַמּ֨וֹת גָּבֹ֜הַּ וְאָרְכּ֣וֹ שְׁתַּֽיִם־אַמּ֗וֹת וּמִקְצֹֽעוֹתָיו֙ ל֔וֹ וְאָרְכּ֥וֹ וְקִֽירֹתָ֖יו עֵ֑ץ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלַ֔י זֶ֚ה הַשֻּׁלְחָ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֖ר לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

hammizbeach etz shalosh ammot gavoah ve'arko shetayim-ammot umiktzo'otav lo ve'arko vekirotav etz vaydabber elay ze hashulchan asher lifne ADONAI

The altar, three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits, was of wood, and so the corners thereof; the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were also of wood; and he said unto me: ‘This is the table that is before the LORD.’

²³וּשְׁתַּ֧יִם דְּלָת֛וֹת לַֽהֵיכָ֖ל וְלַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃

ushetayim delatot lahekhal velakkodesh

And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors.

²⁴וּשְׁתַּ֥יִם דְּלָת֖וֹת לַדְּלָת֑וֹת שְׁ֚תַּיִם מוּסַבּ֣וֹת דְּלָת֔וֹת שְׁ֚תַּיִם לְדֶ֣לֶת אֶחָ֔ת וּשְׁתֵּ֥י דְלָת֖וֹת לָאַחֶֽרֶת׃

ushetayim delatot laddelatot shetayim musabbot delatot shetayim ledelet echat ushete delatot la'acheret

And the doors had two leaves [apiece], two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other.

²⁵וַעֲשׂוּיָ֨ה אֲלֵיהֶ֜ן אֶל־דַּלְת֤וֹת הַֽהֵיכָל֙ כְּרוּבִ֣ים וְתִֽמֹרִ֔ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עֲשׂוּיִ֖ם לַקִּיר֑וֹת וְעָ֥ב עֵ֛ץ אֶל־פְּנֵ֥י הָאוּלָ֖ם מֵהַחֽוּץ׃

va'asuya alehen el-daltot hahekhal keruvim vetimorim ka'asher asuyim lakkirot ve'av etz el-pene haulam mehachutz

And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubim and palm-trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick beams of wood upon the face of the porch without.

²⁶וְחַלּוֹנִ֨ים אֲטֻמ֤וֹת וְתִֽמֹרִים֙ מִפּ֣וֹ וּמִפּ֔וֹ אֶל־כִּתְפ֖וֹת הָֽאוּלָ֑ם וְצַלְע֥וֹת הַבַּ֖יִת וְהָעֻבִּֽים׃

vechallonim atumot vetimorim mippo umippo el-kitfot haulam vetzal'ot habbayit veha'ubbim

And there were narrow windows and palm-trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch; there were also the brackets of the house, and the thick beams.

⁴He measured its length, twenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the nave. He said to me, “This is the most holy place.”

⁵Then he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the width of every side room, four cubits, all around the house on every side.

⁶The side rooms were in three stories, one over another, and thirty in each story. They entered into the wall which belonged to the house for the side rooms all around, that they might be supported and not penetrate the wall of the house.

⁷The side rooms were wider on the higher levels, because the walls were narrower at the higher levels. Therefore the width of the house increased upward; and so one went up from the lowest level to the highest through the middle level.

⁸I saw also that the house had a raised base all around. The foundations of the side rooms were a full reed of six great cubits.

⁹The thickness of the outer wall of the side rooms was five cubits. That which was left was the place of the side rooms that belonged to the house.

¹⁰Between the rooms was a width of twenty cubits around the house on every side.

¹¹The doors of the side rooms were toward an open area that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south. The width of the open area was five cubits all around.

¹²The building that was before the separate place at the side toward the west was seventy cubits wide; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and its length ninety cubits.

¹³So he measured the temple, one hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with its walls, one hundred cubits long;

¹⁴also the width of the face of the temple, and of the separate place toward the east, one hundred cubits.

¹⁵He measured the length of the building before the separate place which was at its back, and its galleries on the one side and on the other side, one hundred cubits from the inner temple, and the porches of the court,

¹⁶the thresholds, and the closed windows, and the galleries around on their three stories, opposite the threshold, with wood ceilings all around, and from the ground up to the windows, (now the windows were covered),

¹⁷to the space above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall all around inside and outside, by measure.

¹⁸It was made with cherubim and palm trees. A palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces,

¹⁹so that there was the face of a man toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side. It was made like this through all the house all around.

²⁰Cherubim and palm trees were made from the ground to above the door. The wall of the temple was like this.

²¹The door posts of the nave were squared. As for the face of the nave, its appearance was as the appearance of the temple.

²²The altar was of wood, three cubits high, and its length two cubits. Its corners, its base, and its walls were of wood. He said to me, “This is the table that is before the LORD.”
