¹בְּעֶשְׂרִ֣ים וְחָמֵ֣שׁ שָׁנָ֣ה לְ֠גָלוּתֵנוּ בְּרֹ֨אשׁ הַשָּׁנָ֜ה בֶּעָשׂ֣וֹר לַחֹ֗דֶשׁ בְּאַרְבַּ֤ע עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה אַחַ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֻכְּתָ֖ה הָעִ֑יר בְּעֶ֣צֶם ׀ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֗ה הָיְתָ֤ה עָלַי֙ יַד־יְהוָ֔ה וַיָּבֵ֥א אֹתִ֖י שָֽׁמָּה׃

be'esrim vechamesh shana legalutenu berosh hashana be'asor lachodesh be'arba' esre shana achar asher hukketa ha'ir be'etzem hayyom hazze hayta alay yad-ADONAI vayyave oti shamma

In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me thither.

²בְּמַרְא֣וֹת אֱלֹהִ֔ים הֱבִיאַ֖נִי אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיְנִיחֵ֗נִי אֶל־הַ֤ר גָּבֹ֨הַּ֙ מְאֹ֔ד וְעָלָ֥יו כְּמִבְנֵה־עִ֖יר מִנֶּֽגֶב׃

bemarot elohim hevi'ani el-eretz yisra'el vaynicheni el-har gavoah me'od ve'alav kemivne-ir minnegev

In the visions of God brought He me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south.

³וַיָּבֵ֨יא אוֹתִ֜י שָׁ֗מָּה וְהִנֵּה־אִישׁ֙ מַרְאֵ֨הוּ֙ כְּמַרְאֵ֣ה נְחֹ֔שֶׁת וּפְתִיל־פִּשְׁתִּ֥ים בְּיָד֖וֹ וּקְנֵ֣ה הַמִּדָּ֑ה וְה֥וּא עֹמֵ֖ד בַּשָּֽׁעַר׃

vayyave oti shamma vehinne-ish mar'ehu kemar'e nechoshet ufetil-pishtim beyado ukene hammidda vehu omed basha'ar

And He brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

⁴וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר אֵלַ֜י הָאִ֗ישׁ בֶּן־אָדָ֡ם רְאֵ֣ה בְעֵינֶיךָ֩ וּבְאָזְנֶ֨יךָ שְּׁמָ֜ע וְשִׂ֣ים לִבְּךָ֗ לְכֹ֤ל אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִי֙ מַרְאֶ֣ה אוֹתָ֔ךְ כִּ֛י לְמַ֥עַן הַרְאוֹתְכָ֖ה הֻבָ֣אתָה הֵ֑נָּה הַגֵּ֛ד אֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֥ה רֹאֶ֖ה לְבֵ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

vaydabber elay ha'ish ben-adam re'e ve'enekha uve'aznekha shema' vesim libbekha lekhol asher-ani mar'e otakh ki lema'an harotkha huvata henna hagged et-kal-asher-atta ro'e levet yisra'el

And the man said unto me: ‘Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall show thee, for to the intent that I might show them unto thee art thou brought thither; declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.’ .

⁵וְהִנֵּ֥ה חוֹמָ֛ה מִח֥וּץ לַבַּ֖יִת סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב וּבְיַ֨ד הָאִ֜ישׁ קְנֵ֣ה הַמִּדָּ֗ה שֵׁשׁ־אַמּ֤וֹת בָּֽאַמָּה֙ וָטֹ֔פַח וַיָּ֜מָד אֶת־רֹ֤חַב הַבִּנְיָן֙ קָנֶ֣ה אֶחָ֔ד וְקוֹמָ֖ה קָנֶ֥ה אֶחָֽד׃

vehinne choma michutz labbayit saviv saviv uveyad ha'ish kene hammidda shesh-ammot ba'amma vatofach vayyamad et-rochav habbinyan kane echad vekoma kane echad

And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long, of a cubit and a hand-breadth each; so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed, and the height, one reed.

⁶וַיָּב֗וֹא אֶל־שַׁ֨עַר֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנָיו֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֔ימָה וַיַּ֖עַל במעלותו [בְּמַֽעֲלוֹתָ֑יו] וַיָּ֣מָד ׀ אֶת־סַ֣ף הַשַּׁ֗עַר קָנֶ֤ה אֶחָד֙ רֹ֔חַב וְאֵת֙ סַ֣ף אֶחָ֔ד קָנֶ֥ה אֶחָ֖ד רֹֽחַב׃

vayyavo el-sha'ar asher panav derekh hakkadima vayya'al bema'alotav vayyamad et-saf hasha'ar kane echad rochav ve'et saf echad kane echad rochav

Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof; and he measured the jamb of the gate, one reed broad, and the other jamb, one reed broad.

⁷וְהַתָּ֗א קָנֶ֨ה אֶחָ֥ד אֹ֨רֶךְ֙ וְקָנֶ֤ה אֶחָד֙ רֹ֔חַב וּבֵ֥ין הַתָּאִ֖ים חָמֵ֣שׁ אַמּ֑וֹת וְסַ֣ף הַ֠שַּׁעַר מֵאֵ֨צֶל אוּלָ֥ם הַשַּׁ֛עַר מֵֽהַבַּ֖יִת קָנֶ֥ה אֶחָֽד׃

vehatta kane echad orekh vekane echad rochav uven hatta'im chamesh ammot vesaf hasha'ar me'etzel ulam hasha'ar mehabbayit kane echad

And every cell was one reed long, and one reed broad; and the space between the cells was five cubits; and the jambs of the gate by the porch of the gate within were one reed.

⁸וַיָּ֜מָד אֶת־אֻלָ֥ם הַשַּׁ֛עַר מֵהַבַּ֖יִת קָנֶ֥ה אֶחָֽד׃

vayyamad et-ulam hasha'ar mehabbayit kane echad

He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.

⁹וַיָּ֜מָד אֶת־אֻלָ֤ם הַשַּׁ֨עַר֙ שְׁמֹנֶ֣ה אַמּ֔וֹת ואילו [וְאֵילָ֖יו] שְׁתַּ֣יִם אַמּ֑וֹת וְאֻלָ֥ם הַשַּׁ֖עַר מֵהַבָּֽיִת׃

vayyamad et-ulam hasha'ar shemone ammot ve'elav shetayim ammot ve'ulam hasha'ar mehabbayit

Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was inward.

¹⁰וְתָאֵ֨י הַשַּׁ֜עַר דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֗ים שְׁלֹשָׁ֤ה מִפֹּה֙ וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה מִפֹּ֔ה מִדָּ֥ה אַחַ֖ת לִשְׁלָשְׁתָּ֑ם וּמִדָּ֥ה אַחַ֛ת לָאֵילִ֖ם מִפֹּ֥ה וּמִפּֽוֹ׃

veta'e hasha'ar derekh hakkadim shelosha mippo ushelosha mippo midda achat lishlashtam umidda achat la'elim mippo umippo

And the cells of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure; and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

¹¹וַיָּ֛מָד אֶת־רֹ֥חַב פֶּֽתַח־הַשַּׁ֖עַר עֶ֣שֶׂר אַמּ֑וֹת אֹ֣רֶךְ הַשַּׁ֔עַר שְׁל֥וֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה אַמּֽוֹת׃

vayyamad et-rochav petach-hasha'ar eser ammot orekh hasha'ar shelosh esre ammot

And he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits;

¹²וּגְב֞וּל לִפְנֵ֤י הַתָּאוֹת֙ אַמָּ֣ה אֶחָ֔ת וְאַמָּה־אַחַ֥ת גְּב֖וּל מִפֹּ֑ה וְהַתָּ֕א שֵׁשׁ־אַמּ֣וֹת מִפּ֔וֹ וְשֵׁ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת מִפּֽוֹ׃

ugevul lifne hattaot amma echat ve'amma-achat gevul mippo vehatta shesh-ammot mippo veshesh ammot mippo

and a border before the cells, one cubit [on this side], and a border, one cubit on that side; and the cells, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

¹³וַיָּ֣מָד אֶת־הַשַּׁ֗עַר מִגַּ֤ג הַתָּא֙ לְגַגּ֔וֹ רֹ֕חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְחָמֵ֖שׁ אַמּ֑וֹת פֶּ֖תַח נֶ֥גֶד פָּֽתַח׃

vayyamad et-hasha'ar miggag hatta legaggo rochav esrim vechamesh ammot petach neged patach

And he measured the gate from the roof of the one cell to the roof of the other, a breadth of five and twenty cubits; door against door.

¹⁴וַיַּ֥עַשׂ אֶת־אֵילִ֖ים שִׁשִּׁ֣ים אַמָּ֑ה וְאֶל־אֵיל֙ הֶֽחָצֵ֔ר הַשַּׁ֖עַר סָבִ֥יב ׀ סָבִֽיב׃

vayya'as et-elim shishim amma ve'el-el hechatzer hasha'ar saviv saviv

He made also posts of threescore cubits; even unto the posts of the court in the gates round about.

¹⁵וְעַ֗ל פְּנֵי֙ הַשַּׁ֣עַר היאתון [הָֽאִית֔וֹן] עַל־לִפְנֵ֕י אֻלָ֥ם הַשַּׁ֖עַר הַפְּנִימִ֑י חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים אַמָּֽה׃

ve'al pene hasha'ar ha'iton al-lifne ulam hasha'ar happenimi chamishim amma

And from the forefront of the gate of the entrance unto the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.

¹⁶וְחַלֹּנ֣וֹת אֲטֻמ֣וֹת אֶֽל־הַתָּאִ֡ים וְאֶל֩ אֵלֵיהֵ֨מָה לִפְנִ֤ימָה לַשַּׁ֨עַר֙ סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֔יב וְכֵ֖ן לָאֵֽלַמּ֑וֹת וְחַלּוֹנ֞וֹת סָבִ֤יב ׀ סָבִיב֙ לִפְנִ֔ימָה וְאֶל־אַ֖יִל תִּמֹרִֽים׃

vechallonot atumot el-hatta'im ve'el elehema lifnima lasha'ar saviv saviv vekhen la'elammot vechallonot saviv saviv lifnima ve'el-ayil timorim

And there were narrow windows to the cells and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches; and windows were round about inward; and upon each post were palm-trees.

¹⁷וַיְבִיאֵ֗נִי אֶל־הֶֽחָצֵר֙ הַחִ֣יצוֹנָ֔ה וְהִנֵּ֤ה לְשָׁכוֹת֙ וְרִֽצְפָ֔ה עָשׂ֥וּי לֶחָצֵ֖ר סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים לְשָׁכ֖וֹת אֶל־הָרִֽצְפָֽה׃

vayvi'eni el-hechatzer hachitzona vehinne leshakhot veritzfa asuy lechatzer saviv saviv sheloshim leshakhot el-haritzfa

Then brought he me into the outer court, and, lo, there were chambers and a pavement, made for the court round about; thirty chambers were upon the pavement.

¹⁸וְהָרִֽצְפָה֙ אֶל־כֶּ֣תֶף הַשְּׁעָרִ֔ים לְעֻמַּ֖ת אֹ֣רֶךְ הַשְּׁעָרִ֑ים הָרִֽצְפָ֖ה הַתַּחְתּוֹנָֽה׃

veharitzfa el-ketef hashe'arim le'ummat orekh hashe'arim haritzfa hattachtona

And the pavement was by the side of the gates, corresponding unto the length of the gates, even the lower pavement.

¹⁹וַיָּ֣מָד רֹ֡חַב מִלִּפְנֵי֩ הַשַּׁ֨עַר הַתַּחְתּ֜וֹנָה לִפְנֵ֨י הֶחָצֵ֧ר הַפְּנִימִ֛י מִח֖וּץ מֵאָ֣ה אַמָּ֑ה הַקָּדִ֖ים וְהַצָּפֽוֹן׃

vayyamad rochav millifne hasha'ar hattachtona lifne hechatzer happenimi michutz me'a amma hakkadim vehatzafon

Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, a hundred cubits, eastward as also northward.

²⁰וְהַשַּׁ֗עַר אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנָיו֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן לֶחָצֵ֖ר הַחִֽיצוֹנָ֑ה מָדַ֥ד אָרְכּ֖וֹ וְרָחְבּֽוֹ׃

vehasha'ar asher panav derekh hatzafon lechatzer hachitzona madad arko verachbo

And the gate of the outer court that looked toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof.

²¹ותאו [וְתָאָ֗יו] שְׁלוֹשָׁ֤ה מִפּוֹ֙ וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה מִפּ֔וֹ ואילו [וְאֵילָ֤יו] ואלמו [וְאֵֽלַמָּיו֙] הָיָ֔ה כְּמִדַּ֖ת הַשַּׁ֣עַר הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ אָרְכּ֔וֹ וְרֹ֕חַב חָמֵ֥שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים בָּאַמָּֽה׃

veta'av shelosha mippo ushelosha mippo ve'elav ve'elammav haya kemiddat hasha'ar harishon chamishim amma arko verochav chamesh ve'esrim ba'amma

And the cells thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

²²וחלונו [וְחַלּוֹנָ֤יו] ואלמו [וְאֵֽלַמָּיו֙] ותמרו [וְתִ֣מֹרָ֔יו] כְּמִדַּ֣ת הַשַּׁ֔עַר אֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּנָ֖יו דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֑ים וּבְמַעֲל֥וֹת שֶׁ֨בַע֙ יַֽעֲלוּ־ב֔וֹ ואילמו [וְאֵֽילַמָּ֖יו] לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃

vechallonav ve'elammav vetimorav kemiddat hasha'ar asher panav derekh hakkadim uvema'alot sheva' ya'alu-vo ve'elammav lifnehem

And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm-trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate that looketh toward the east; and it was ascended by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them.

²³וְשַׁ֨עַר֙ לֶחָצֵ֣ר הַפְּנִימִ֔י נֶ֣גֶד הַשַּׁ֔עַר לַצָּפ֖וֹן וְלַקָּדִ֑ים וַיָּ֧מָד מִשַּׁ֛עַר אֶל־שַׁ֖עַר מֵאָ֥ה אַמָּֽה׃

vesha'ar lechatzer happenimi neged hasha'ar latzafon velakkadim vayyamad misha'ar el-sha'ar me'a amma

And there was a gate to the inner court over against the other gate, northward as also eastward; and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits.

²⁴וַיּוֹלִכֵ֨נִי֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֔וֹם וְהִנֵּה־שַׁ֖עַר דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֑וֹם וּמָדַ֤ד אילו [אֵילָיו֙] ואילמו [וְאֵ֣ילַמָּ֔יו] כַּמִּדּ֖וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

vayyolikheni derekh haddarom vehinne-sha'ar derekh haddarom umadad elav ve'elammav kammiddot ha'elle

And he led me toward the south, and behold a gate toward the south; and he measured the posts thereof, and the arches thereof according to these measures.

²⁵וְחַלּוֹנִ֨ים ל֤וֹ ולאילמו [וּלְאֵֽילַמָּיו֙] סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֔יב כְּהַחֲלֹּנ֖וֹת הָאֵ֑לֶּה חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ אֹ֔רֶךְ וְרֹ֕חַב חָמֵ֥שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אַמָּֽה׃

vechallonim lo ule'elammav saviv saviv kehachalonot ha'elle chamishim amma orekh verochav chamesh ve'esrim amma

And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows; the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

²⁶וּמַעֲל֤וֹת שִׁבְעָה֙ עלותו [עֹֽלוֹתָ֔יו] ואלמו [וְאֵֽלַמָּ֖יו] לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם וְתִמֹרִ֣ים ל֗וֹ אֶחָ֥ד מִפּ֛וֹ וְאֶחָ֥ד מִפּ֖וֹ אֶל־אילו [אֵילָֽיו]׃

uma'alot shiv'a olotav ve'elammav lifnehem vetimorim lo echad mippo ve'echad mippo el-elav

And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them; and it had palm-trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.

²⁷וְשַׁ֛עַר לֶחָצֵ֥ר הַפְּנִימִ֖י דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֑וֹם וַיָּ֨מָד מִשַּׁ֧עַר אֶל־הַשַּׁ֛עַר דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַדָּר֖וֹם מֵאָ֥ה אַמּֽוֹת׃

vesha'ar lechatzer happenimi derekh haddarom vayyamad misha'ar el-hasha'ar derekh haddarom me'a ammot

And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south; and he measured from gate to gate toward the south a hundred cubits.

²⁸וַיְבִיאֵ֛נִי אֶל־חָצֵ֥ר הַפְּנִימִ֖י בְּשַׁ֣עַר הַדָּר֑וֹם וַיָּ֨מָד֙ אֶת־הַשַּׁ֣עַר הַדָּר֔וֹם כַּמִּדּ֖וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

vayvi'eni el-chatzer happenimi besha'ar haddarom vayyamad et-hasha'ar haddarom kammiddot ha'elle

Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate; and he measured the south gate according to these measures;

²⁹ותאו [וְתָאָ֞יו] ואילו [וְאֵילָ֤יו] ואלמו [וְאֵֽלַמָּיו֙] כַּמִּדּ֣וֹת הָאֵ֔לֶּה וְחַלּוֹנ֥וֹת ל֛וֹ ולאלמו [וּלְאֵלַמָּ֖יו] סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ אֹ֔רֶךְ וְרֹ֕חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְחָמֵ֖שׁ אַמּֽוֹת׃

veta'av ve'elav ve'elammav kammiddot ha'elle vechallonot lo ule'elammav saviv saviv chamishim amma orekh verochav esrim vechamesh ammot

and the cells thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures; and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

³⁰וְאֵֽלַמּ֖וֹת סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב אֹ֗רֶךְ חָמֵ֤שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ אַמָּ֔ה וְרֹ֖חַב חָמֵ֥שׁ אַמּֽוֹת׃

ve'elammot saviv saviv orekh chamesh ve'esrim amma verochav chamesh ammot

And there were arches round about, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.

³¹וְאֵלַמָּ֗ו אֶל־חָצֵר֙ הַחִ֣צוֹנָ֔ה וְתִמֹרִ֖ים אֶל־אילו [אֵילָ֑יו] וּמַעֲל֥וֹת שְׁמוֹנֶ֖ה מעלו [מַעֲלָֽיו]׃

ve'elammav el-chatzer hachitzona vetimorim el-elav uma'alot shemone ma'alav

And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof; and the going up to it had eight steps.

³²וַיְבִיאֵ֛נִי אֶל־הֶחָצֵ֥ר הַפְּנִימִ֖י דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֑ים וַיָּ֣מָד אֶת־הַשַּׁ֔עַר כַּמִּדּ֖וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

vayvi'eni el-hechatzer happenimi derekh hakkadim vayyamad et-hasha'ar kammiddot ha'elle

And he brought me into the inner court toward the east; and he measured the gate according to these measures;

³³ותאו [וְתָאָ֞יו] ואלו [וְאֵלָ֤יו] ואלמו [וְאֵֽלַמָּיו֙] כַּמִּדּ֣וֹת הָאֵ֔לֶּה וְחַלּוֹנ֥וֹת ל֛וֹ ולאלמו [וּלְאֵלַמָּ֖יו] סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב אֹ֚רֶךְ חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים אַמָּ֔ה וְרֹ֕חַב חָמֵ֥שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אַמָּֽה׃

veta'av ve'elav ve'elammav kammiddot ha'elle vechallonot lo ule'elammav saviv saviv orekh chamishim amma verochav chamesh ve'esrim amma

and the cells thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures; and there were windows therein and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

³⁴ואלמו [וְאֵלַמָּ֗יו] לֶֽחָצֵר֙ הַחִ֣יצוֹנָ֔ה וְתִמֹרִ֥ים אֶל־אלו [אֵלָ֖יו] מִפּ֣וֹ וּמִפּ֑וֹ וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מַעֲל֖וֹת מעלו [מַעֲלָֽיו]׃

ve'elammav lechatzer hachitzona vetimorim el-elav mippo umippo ushemone ma'alot ma'alav

And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side; and the going up to it had eight steps.

³⁵וַיְבִיאֵ֖נִי אֶל־שַׁ֣עַר הַצָּפ֑וֹן וּמָדַ֖ד כַּמִּדּ֥וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

vayvi'eni el-sha'ar hatzafon umadad kammiddot ha'elle

And he brought me to the north gate; and he measured it according to these measures;

³⁶תאו [תָּאָיו֙] אלו [אֵלָ֣יו] ואלמו [וְאֵֽלַמָּ֔יו] וְחַלּוֹנ֥וֹת ל֖וֹ סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב אֹ֚רֶךְ חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים אַמָּ֔ה וְרֹ֕חַב חָמֵ֥שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אַמָּֽה׃

ta'av elav ve'elammav vechallonot lo saviv saviv orekh chamishim amma verochav chamesh ve'esrim amma

the cells thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof; and there were windows therein round about; the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

³⁷ואילו [וְאֵילָ֗יו] לֶֽחָצֵר֙ הַחִ֣יצוֹנָ֔ה וְתִמֹרִ֥ים אֶל־אילו [אֵילָ֖יו] מִפּ֣וֹ וּמִפּ֑וֹ וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מַעֲל֖וֹת מעלו [מַעֲלָֽיו]׃

ve'elav lechatzer hachitzona vetimorim el-elav mippo umippo ushemone ma'alot ma'alav

And the posts thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side; and the going up to it had eight steps.

³⁸וְלִשְׁכָּ֣ה וּפִתְחָ֔הּ בְּאֵילִ֖ים הַשְּׁעָרִ֑ים שָׁ֖ם יָדִ֥יחוּ אֶת־הָעֹלָֽה׃

velishka ufitchah be'elim hashe'arim sham yadichu et-ha'ola

And a chamber with the entry thereof was by the posts at the gates; there was the burnt-offering to be washed.

³⁹וּבְאֻלָ֣ם הַשַּׁ֗עַר שְׁנַ֤יִם שֻׁלְחָנוֹת֙ מִפּ֔וֹ וּשְׁנַ֥יִם שֻׁלְחָנ֖וֹת מִפֹּ֑ה לִשְׁח֤וֹט אֲלֵיהֶם֙ הָעוֹלָ֔ה וְהַחַטָּ֖את וְהָאָשָֽׁם׃

uve'ulam hasha'ar shenayim shulchanot mippo ushenayim shulchanot mippo lishchot alehem ha'ola vehachattat veha'asham

And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt-offering and the sin-offering and the guilt-offering.

⁴⁰וְאֶל־הַכָּתֵ֣ף מִח֗וּצָה לָעוֹלֶה֙ לְפֶ֨תַח֙ הַשַּׁ֣עַר הַצָּפ֔וֹנָה שְׁנַ֖יִם שֻׁלְחָנ֑וֹת וְאֶל־הַכָּתֵ֣ף הָאַחֶ֗רֶת אֲשֶׁר֙ לְאֻלָ֣ם הַשַּׁ֔עַר שְׁנַ֖יִם שֻׁלְחָנֽוֹת׃

ve'el-hakkatef michutza la'ole lefetach hasha'ar hatzafona shenayim shulchanot ve'el-hakkatef ha'acheret asher le'ulam hasha'ar shenayim shulchanot

And on the one side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side of the porch of the gate were two tables.

⁴¹אַרְבָּעָ֨ה שֻׁלְחָנ֜וֹת מִפֹּ֗ה וְאַרְבָּעָ֧ה שֻׁלְחָנ֛וֹת מִפֹּ֖ה לְכֶ֣תֶף הַשָּׁ֑עַר שְׁמוֹנָ֥ה שֻׁלְחָנ֖וֹת אֲלֵיהֶ֥ם יִשְׁחָֽטוּ׃

arba'a shulchanot mippo ve'arba'a shulchanot mippo lekhetef hasha'ar shemona shulchanot alehem yishchatu

Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon to slay the sacrifices.

⁴²וְאַרְבָּעָה֩ שֻׁלְחָנ֨וֹת לָעוֹלָ֜ה אַבְנֵ֣י גָזִ֗ית אֹרֶךְ֩ אַמָּ֨ה אַחַ֤ת וָחֵ֨צִי֙ וְרֹ֨חַב אַמָּ֤ה אַחַת֙ וָחֵ֔צִי וְגֹ֖בַהּ אַמָּ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם וְיַנִּ֤יחוּ אֶת־הַכֵּלִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִשְׁחֲט֧וּ אֶת־הָעוֹלָ֛ה בָּ֖ם וְהַזָּֽבַח׃

ve'arba'a shulchanot la'ola avne gazit orekh amma achat vachetzi verochav amma achat vachetzi vegovah amma echat alehem veyannichu et-hakkelim asher yishchatu et-ha'ola bam vehazzavach

Moreover there were four tables for the burnt-offering, of hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high, whereupon to lay the instruments wherewith the burnt-offering and the sacrifice are slain.

⁴³וְהַֽשְׁפַתַּ֗יִם טֹ֧פַח אֶחָ֛ד מוּכָנִ֥ים בַּבַּ֖יִת סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב וְאֶל־הַשֻּׁלְחָנ֖וֹת בְּשַׂ֥ר הַקָּרְבָֽן׃

vehashfattayim tofach echad mukhanim babbayit saviv saviv ve'el-hashulchanot besar hakkarvan

And the slabs, a handbreadth long, were fastened within round about; and upon the tables was to be the flesh of the offering.

⁴⁴וּמִחוּצָה֩ לַשַּׁ֨עַר הַפְּנִימִ֜י לִֽשְׁכ֣וֹת שָׁרִ֗ים בֶּחָצֵ֤ר הַפְּנִימִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֗ר אֶל־כֶּ֨תֶף֙ שַׁ֣עַר הַצָּפ֔וֹן וּפְנֵיהֶ֖ם דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֑וֹם אֶחָ֗ד אֶל־כֶּ֨תֶף֙ שַׁ֣עַר הַקָּדִ֔ים פְּנֵ֖י דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַצָּפֹֽן׃

umichutza lasha'ar happenimi lishkhot sharim bechatzer happenimi asher el-ketef sha'ar hatzafon ufenehem derekh haddarom echad el-ketef sha'ar hakkadim pene derekh hatzafon

And without the inner gate were chambers for the guard in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate, and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.

⁴⁵וַיְדַבֵּ֖ר אֵלָ֑י זֹ֣ה הַלִּשְׁכָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנֶ֨יהָ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֔וֹם לַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת הַבָּֽיִת׃

vaydabber elay zo hallishka asher paneha derekh haddarom lakkohanim shomre mishmeret habbayit

And he said unto me: ‘This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house.

⁴⁶וְהַלִּשְׁכָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנֶ֨יהָ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן לַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ הֵ֣מָּה בְנֵֽי־צָד֗וֹק הַקְּרֵבִ֧ים מִבְּנֵֽי־לֵוִ֛י אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה לְשָׁרְתֽוֹ׃

vehallishka asher paneha derekh hatzafon lakkohanim shomre mishmeret hammizbeach hemma vene-tzadok hakkerevim mibbene-levi el-ADONAI lesharto

And the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar; these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to the LORD to minister unto Him.’

⁴⁷וַיָּ֨מָד אֶת־הֶחָצֵ֜ר אֹ֣רֶךְ ׀ מֵאָ֣ה אַמָּ֗ה וְרֹ֛חַב מֵאָ֥ה אַמָּ֖ה מְרֻבָּ֑עַת וְהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ לִפְנֵ֥י הַבָּֽיִת׃

vayyamad et-hechatzer orekh me'a amma verochav me'a amma merubba'at vehammizbeach lifne habbayit

And he measured the court, a hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar was before the house.

⁴⁸וַיְבִאֵנִי֮ אֶל־אֻלָ֣ם הַבַּיִת֒ וַיָּ֨מָד֙ אֵ֣ל אֻלָ֔ם חָמֵ֤שׁ אַמּוֹת֙ מִפֹּ֔ה וְחָמֵ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת מִפֹּ֑ה וְרֹ֣חַב הַשַּׁ֔עַר שָׁלֹ֤שׁ אַמּוֹת֙ מִפּ֔וֹ וְשָׁלֹ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת מִפּֽוֹ׃

vayvi'eni el-ulam habbayit vayyamad el ulam chamesh ammot mippo vechamesh ammot mippo verochav hasha'ar shalosh ammot mippo veshalosh ammot mippo

Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side; and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

⁴⁹אֹ֣רֶךְ הָאֻלָ֞ם עֶשְׂרִ֣ים אַמָּ֗ה וְרֹ֨חַב֙ עַשְׁתֵּ֣י עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה אַמָּ֔ה וּבַֽמַּעֲל֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲל֖וּ אֵלָ֑יו וְעַמֻּדִים֙ אֶל־הָ֣אֵילִ֔ים אֶחָ֥ד מִפֹּ֖ה וְאֶחָ֥ד מִפֹּֽה׃

The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; and it was by steps that it was ascended; and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

¹In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was struck, in the same day, the LORD’s hand was on me, and he brought me there.

²In the visions of God he brought me into Eretz-Israel, and set me down on a very high mountain, on which was something like the frame of a city to the south.

³He brought me there; and, behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of bronze, with a line of flax in his hand and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

⁴The man said to me, “Son of man, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart on all that I will show you; for you have been brought here so that I may show them to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.”

⁵Behold, there was a wall on the outside of the house all around, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed six cubits long, of a cubit and a hand width each. So he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

⁶Then he came to the gate which looks toward the east, and went up its steps. He measured the threshold of the gate, one reed wide; and the other threshold, one reed wide.

⁷Every lodge was one reed long and one reed wide. Between the lodges was five cubits. The threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed.

⁸He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.

⁹Then he measured the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and its posts, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.

¹⁰The side rooms of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side. The three of them were of one measure. The posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

¹¹He measured the width of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits;

¹²and a border before the lodges, one cubit on this side, and a border, one cubit on that side; and the side rooms, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

¹³He measured the gate from the roof of the one side room to the roof of the other, a width of twenty-five cubits, door against door.

¹⁴He also made posts, sixty cubits; and the court reached to the posts, around the gate.

¹⁵From the forefront of the gate at the entrance to the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.

¹⁶There were closed windows to the side rooms, and to their posts within the gate all around, and likewise to the arches. Windows were around inward. Palm trees were on each post.

¹⁷Then he brought me into the outer court. Behold, there were rooms and a pavement made for the court all around. Thirty rooms were on the pavement.

¹⁸The pavement was by the side of the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates, even the lower pavement.

¹⁹Then he measured the width from the forefront of the lower gate to the forefront of the inner court outside, one hundred cubits, both on the east and on the north.

²⁰He measured the length and width of the gate of the outer court which faces toward the north.

²¹The lodges of it were three on this side and three on that side. Its posts and its arches were the same as the measure of the first gate: its length was fifty cubits, and the width twenty-five cubits.

²²Its windows, its arches, and its palm trees were the same as the measure of the gate which faces toward the east. They went up to it by seven steps. Its arches were before them.

²³There was a gate to the inner court facing the other gate, on the north and on the east. He measured one hundred cubits from gate to gate.

²⁴He led me toward the south; and behold, there was a gate toward the south. He measured its posts and its arches according to these measurements.

²⁵There were windows in it and in its arches all around, like the other windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the width twenty-five cubits.

²⁶There were seven steps to go up to it, and its arches were before them. It had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, on its posts.

²⁷There was a gate to the inner court toward the south. He measured one hundred cubits from gate to gate toward the south.

²⁸Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate. He measured the south gate according to these measurements;

²⁹with its lodges, its posts, and its arches, according to these measurements. There were windows in it and in its arches all around. It was fifty cubits long, and twenty-five cubits wide.

³⁰There were arches all around, twenty-five cubits long and five cubits wide.

³¹Its arches were toward the outer court. Palm trees were on its posts. The ascent to it had eight steps.

³²He brought me into the inner court toward the east. He measured the gate according to these measurements;

³⁸A room with its door was by the posts at the gates. They washed the burnt offering there.

³⁹In the porch of the gate were two tables on this side and two tables on that side, on which to kill the burnt offering, the sin offering, and the trespass offering.

⁴⁰On the one side outside, as one goes up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables.

⁴¹Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate: eight tables, on which they killed the sacrifices.

⁴²There were four cut stone tables for the burnt offering, a cubit and a half long, a cubit and a half wide, and one cubit high. They laid the instruments with which they killed the burnt offering and the sacrifice on them.

⁴³The hooks, a hand width long, were fastened within all around. The meat of the offering was on the tables.

⁴⁴Outside of the inner gate were rooms for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate. They faced toward the south. One at the side of the east gate faced toward the north.

⁴⁵He said to me, “This room, which faces toward the south, is for the priests who perform the duty of the house.

⁴⁶The room which faces toward the north is for the priests who perform the duty of the altar. These are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to the LORD to minister to him.”

⁴⁷He measured the court, one hundred cubits long and one hundred cubits wide, square. The altar was before the house.

⁴⁸Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side. The width of the gate was three cubits on this side and three cubits on that side.

⁴⁹The length of the porch was twenty cubits and the width eleven cubits, even by the steps by which they went up to it. There were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.
