10And there hath not arisen a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face;

Deuteronomy 34:10 (Hebrew & JPS 1917)

Fulfilment · New CovenantWMB

Acts 3:22-23 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you. It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

John 6:14 When therefore the people saw the sign which Yeshua did, they said, “This is truly the Prophet who comes into the world.”

John 1:45 Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Torah and also the prophets, wrote: Yeshua of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

How rabbinic tradition reads it

Usually read as the line of true prophets after Moses (Rashi, Ibn Ezra), or as a specific prophet such as Joshua or Jeremiah.

Why Messianic Jews read it as Yeshua

Deuteronomy ends by saying no prophet arose like Moses, who knew God "face to face" (34:10), so the promise was still open. Peter applied it to Yeshua in the Temple courts.

Look at the text for yourself
