Romans 15:12 Again, Isaiah says, “There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will hope.”

Matthew 3:16 Yeshua, when he was immersed, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.

Revelation 22:16 I, Yeshua, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

How rabbinic tradition reads it

Universally read as the Messiah in Jewish tradition (Targum: "a king will come forth from the sons of Jesse, and the Messiah will be anointed").

Why Messianic Jews read it as Yeshua

Yeshua, of David's line, came when David's royal house was a "stump". The Spirit came on him at his immersion; Paul quotes verse 10 about the nations hoping in him.
