¹אַשְׁרֵ֥י תְמִֽימֵי־דָ֑רֶךְ הַֽ֝הֹלְכִ֗ים בְּתוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

ashre temime-darekh haholkhim betorat ADONAI

ALEPH. Happy are they that are upright in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

²אַ֭שְׁרֵי נֹצְרֵ֥י עֵדֹתָ֗יו בְּכָל־לֵ֥ב יִדְרְשֽׁוּהוּ׃

ashre notzre edotav bekhal-lev yidreshuhu

Happy are they that keep His testimonies, that seek Him with the whole heart.

³אַ֭ף לֹֽא־פָעֲל֣וּ עַוְלָ֑ה בִּדְרָכָ֥יו הָלָֽכוּ׃

af lo-fa'alu avla bidrakhav halakhu

Yea, they do no unrighteousness; they walk in His ways.

⁴אַ֭תָּה צִוִּ֥יתָה פִקֻּדֶ֗יךָ לִשְׁמֹ֥ר מְאֹֽד׃

atta tzivvita fikkudekha lishmor me'od

Thou hast ordained Thy precepts, that we should observe them diligently.

⁵אַ֭חֲלַי יִכֹּ֥נוּ דְרָכָ֗י לִשְׁמֹ֥ר חֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

achalay yikkonu derakhay lishmor chukkekha

Oh that my ways were directed to observe Thy statutes!

⁶אָ֥ז לֹא־אֵב֑וֹשׁ בְּ֝הַבִּיטִ֗י אֶל־כָּל־מִצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃

az lo-evosh behabbiti el-kal-mitzvotekha

Then should I not be ashamed, when I have regard unto all Thy commandments.

⁷א֭וֹדְךָ בְּיֹ֣שֶׁר לֵבָ֑ב בְּ֝לָמְדִ֗י מִשְׁפְּטֵ֥י צִדְקֶֽךָ׃

odkha beyosher levav belamdi mishpete tzidkekha

I will give thanks unto Thee with uprightness of heart, when I learn Thy righteous ordinances. .

⁸אֶת־חֻקֶּ֥יךָ אֶשְׁמֹ֑ר אַֽל־תַּעַזְבֵ֥נִי עַד־מְאֹֽד׃

et-chukkekha eshmor al-ta'azveni ad-me'od

I will observe Thy statutes; O forsake me not utterly.

⁹בַּמֶּ֣ה יְזַכֶּה־נַּ֭עַר אֶת־אָרְח֑וֹ לִ֝שְׁמֹ֗ר כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃

bamme yezakke-na'ar et-archo lishmor kidvarekha

BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man keep his way pure? By taking heed thereto according to Thy word.

¹⁰בְּכָל־לִבִּ֥י דְרַשְׁתִּ֑יךָ אַל־תַּ֝שְׁגֵּ֗נִי מִמִּצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃

bekhal-libbi derashtikha al-tashgeni mimmitzvotekha

With my whole heart have I sought Thee; O let me not err from Thy commandments.

¹¹בְּ֭לִבִּי צָפַ֣נְתִּי אִמְרָתֶ֑ךָ לְ֝מַ֗עַן לֹ֣א אֶֽחֱטָא־לָֽךְ׃

belibbi tzafanti imratekha lema'an lo echeta-lakh

Thy word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee.

¹²בָּר֖וּךְ אַתָּ֥ה יְהוָ֗ה לַמְּדֵ֥נִי חֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

barukh atta ADONAI lammedeni chukkekha

Blessed art Thou, O LORD; Teach me Thy statutes.

¹³בִּשְׂפָתַ֥י סִפַּ֑רְתִּי כֹּ֝֗ל מִשְׁפְּטֵי־פִֽיךָ׃

bisfatay sipparti kol mishpete-fikha

With my lips have I told All the ordinances of Thy mouth.

¹⁴בְּדֶ֖רֶךְ עֵדְוֺתֶ֥יךָ שַׂ֗שְׂתִּי כְּעַ֣ל כָּל־הֽוֹן׃

bederekh edvotekha sasti ke'al kal-hon

I have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies, As much as in all riches.

¹⁵בְּפִקֻּדֶ֥יךָ אָשִׂ֑יחָה וְ֝אַבִּ֗יטָה אֹרְחֹתֶֽיךָ׃

befikkudekha asicha ve'abbita orchotekha

I will meditate in Thy precepts, And have respect unto Thy ways.

¹⁶בְּחֻקֹּתֶ֥יךָ אֶֽשְׁתַּעֲשָׁ֑ע לֹ֭א אֶשְׁכַּ֣ח דְּבָרֶֽךָ׃

bechukkotekha eshta'asha' lo eshkach devarekha

I will delight myself in Thy statutes; I will not forget Thy word.

¹⁷גְּמֹ֖ל עַֽל־עַבְדְּךָ֥ אֶֽחְיֶ֗ה וְאֶשְׁמְרָ֥ה דְבָרֶֽךָ׃

gemol al-avdekha echye ve'eshmera devarekha

GIMEL. Deal bountifully with Thy servant that I may live, and I will observe Thy word.

¹⁸גַּל־עֵינַ֥י וְאַבִּ֑יטָה נִ֝פְלָא֗וֹת מִתּוֹרָתֶֽךָ׃

gal-enay ve'abbita niflaot mittoratekha

Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.

¹⁹גֵּ֣ר אָנֹכִ֣י בָאָ֑רֶץ אַל־תַּסְתֵּ֥ר מִ֝מֶּ֗נִּי מִצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃

ger anokhi va'aretz al-taster mimmenni mitzvotekha

I am a sojourner in the earth; hide not Thy commandments from me.

²⁰גָּרְסָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֣י לְתַאֲבָ֑ה אֶֽל־מִשְׁפָּטֶ֥יךָ בְכָל־עֵֽת׃

garsa nafshi leta'ava el-mishpatekha vekhal-et

My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto Thine ordinances at all times.

²¹גָּ֭עַרְתָּ זֵדִ֣ים אֲרוּרִ֑ים הַ֝שֹּׁגִים מִמִּצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃

ga'arta zedim arurim hashogim mimmitzvotekha

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, that do err from Thy commandments.

²²גַּ֣ל מֵֽ֭עָלַי חֶרְפָּ֣ה וָב֑וּז כִּ֖י עֵדֹתֶ֣יךָ נָצָֽרְתִּי׃

gal me'alay cherpa vavuz ki edotekha natzarti

Take away from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept Thy testimonies.

²³גַּ֤ם יָֽשְׁב֣וּ שָׂ֭רִים בִּ֣י נִדְבָּ֑רוּ עַ֝בְדְּךָ֗ יָשִׂ֥יחַ בְּחֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

gam yashvu sarim bi nidbaru avdekha yasiach bechukkekha

Even though princes sit and talk against me, Thy servant doth meditate in Thy statutes.

²⁴גַּֽם־עֵ֭דֹתֶיךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָ֗י אַנְשֵׁ֥י עֲצָתִֽי׃

gam-edotekha sha'ashu'ay anshe atzati

Yea, Thy testimonies are my delight, they are my counsellors. DALETH.

²⁵דָּֽבְקָ֣ה לֶעָפָ֣ר נַפְשִׁ֑י חַ֝יֵּ֗נִי כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃

davka le'afar nafshi chayyeni kidvarekha

My soul cleaveth unto the dust; quicken Thou me according to Thy word.

²⁶דְּרָכַ֣י סִ֭פַּרְתִּי וַֽתַּעֲנֵ֗נִי לַמְּדֵ֥נִי חֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

derakhay sipparti vatta'aneni lammedeni chukkekha

I told of my ways, and Thou didst answer me; teach me Thy statutes.

²⁷דֶּֽרֶךְ־פִּקּוּדֶ֥יךָ הֲבִינֵ֑נִי וְ֝אָשִׂ֗יחָה בְּנִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃

derekh-pikkudekha havineni ve'asicha benifleotekha

Make me to understand the way of Thy precepts, that I may talk of Thy wondrous works.

²⁸דָּלְפָ֣ה נַ֭פְשִׁי מִתּוּגָ֑ה קַ֝יְּמֵ֗נִי כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃

dalfa nafshi mittuga kayyemeni kidvarekha

My soul melteth away for heaviness; sustain me according unto Thy word.

²⁹דֶּֽרֶךְ־שֶׁ֭קֶר הָסֵ֣ר מִמֶּ֑נִּי וְֽתוֹרָתְךָ֥ חָנֵּֽנִי׃

derekh-sheker haser mimmenni vetoratkha channeni

Remove from me the way of falsehood; and grant me Thy law graciously.

³⁰דֶּֽרֶךְ־אֱמוּנָ֥ה בָחָ֑רְתִּי מִשְׁפָּטֶ֥יךָ שִׁוִּֽיתִי׃

derekh-emuna vacharti mishpatekha shivviti

I have chosen the way of faithfulness; Thine ordinances have I set [before me].

³¹דָּבַ֥קְתִּי בְעֵֽדְוֺתֶ֑יךָ יְ֝הוָ֗ה אַל־תְּבִישֵֽׁנִי׃

davakti ve'edvotekha ADONAI al-tevisheni

I cleave unto Thy testimonies; O LORD, put me not to shame.

³²דֶּֽרֶךְ־מִצְוֺתֶ֥יךָ אָר֑וּץ כִּ֖י תַרְחִ֣יב לִבִּֽי׃

derekh-mitzvotekha arutz ki tarchiv libbi

I will run the way of Thy commandments, For Thou dost enlarge my heart.

³³הוֹרֵ֣נִי יְ֭הוָה דֶּ֥רֶךְ חֻקֶּ֗יךָ וְאֶצְּרֶ֥נָּה עֵֽקֶב׃

horeni ADONAI derekh chukkekha ve'etzerenna ekev

HE. Teach me, O LORD, the way of Thy statutes; And I will keep it at every step.

³⁴הֲ֭בִינֵנִי וְאֶצְּרָ֥ה תֽוֹרָתֶ֗ךָ וְאֶשְׁמְרֶ֥נָּה בְכָל־לֵֽב׃

havineni ve'etzera toratekha ve'eshmerenna vekhal-lev

Give me understanding, that I keep Thy law and observe it with my whole heart.

³⁵הַ֭דְרִיכֵנִי בִּנְתִ֣יב מִצְוֺתֶ֑יךָ כִּי־ב֥וֹ חָפָֽצְתִּי׃

hadrikheni bintiv mitzvotekha ki-vo chafatzti

Make me to tread in the path of Thy commandments; for therein do I delight.

³⁶הַט־לִ֭בִּי אֶל־עֵדְוֺתֶ֗יךָ וְאַ֣ל אֶל־בָּֽצַע׃

hat-libbi el-edvotekha ve'al el-batza'

Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

³⁷הַעֲבֵ֣ר עֵ֭ינַי מֵרְא֣וֹת שָׁ֑וְא בִּדְרָכֶ֥ךָ חַיֵּֽנִי׃

ha'aver enay merot shav bidrakhekha chayyeni

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity, and quicken me in Thy ways.

³⁸הָקֵ֣ם לְ֭עַבְדְּךָ אִמְרָתֶ֑ךָ אֲ֝שֶׁ֗ר לְיִרְאָתֶֽךָ׃

hakem le'avdekha imratekha asher leyir'atekha

Confirm Thy word unto Thy servant, which pertaineth unto the fear of Thee.

³⁹הַעֲבֵ֣ר חֶ֭רְפָּתִי אֲשֶׁ֣ר יָגֹ֑רְתִּי כִּ֖י מִשְׁפָּטֶ֣יךָ טוֹבִֽים׃

ha'aver cherpati asher yagorti ki mishpatekha tovim

Turn away my reproach which I dread; for Thine ordinances are good.

⁴⁰הִ֭נֵּה תָּאַ֣בְתִּי לְפִקֻּדֶ֑יךָ בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֥ חַיֵּֽנִי׃

hinne ta'avti lefikkudekha betzidkatkha chayyeni

Behold, I have longed after Thy precepts; quicken me in Thy righteousness.

⁴¹וִֽיבֹאֻ֣נִי חֲסָדֶ֣ךָ יְהוָ֑ה תְּ֝שֽׁוּעָתְךָ֗ כְּאִמְרָתֶֽךָ׃

vivo'uni chasadekha ADONAI teshu'atkha ke'imratekha

VAV. Let Thy mercies also come unto me, O LORD, even Thy salvation, according to Thy word;

⁴²וְאֶֽעֱנֶ֣ה חֹרְפִ֣י דָבָ֑ר כִּֽי־בָ֝טַחְתִּי בִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃

ve'e'ene chorfi davar ki-vatachti bidvarekha

That I may have an answer for him that taunteth me; for I trust in Thy word.

⁴³וְֽאַל־תַּצֵּ֬ל מִפִּ֣י דְבַר־אֱמֶ֣ת עַד־מְאֹ֑ד כִּ֖י לְמִשְׁפָּטֶ֣ךָ יִחָֽלְתִּי׃

ve'al-tatzel mippi devar-emet ad-me'od ki lemishpatekha yichalti

And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I hope in Thine ordinances;

⁴⁴וְאֶשְׁמְרָ֖ה תוֹרָתְךָ֥ תָמִ֗יד לְעוֹלָ֥ם וָעֶֽד׃

ve'eshmera toratkha tamid le'olam va'ed

So shall I observe Thy law continually for ever and ever;

⁴⁵וְאֶתְהַלְּכָ֥ה בָרְחָבָ֑ה כִּ֖י פִקֻּדֶ֣יךָ דָרָֽשְׁתִּי׃

ve'ethallekha varchava ki fikkudekha darashti

And I will walk at ease, for I have sought Thy precepts;

⁴⁶וַאֲדַבְּרָ֣ה בְ֭עֵדֹתֶיךָ נֶ֥גֶד מְלָכִ֗ים וְלֹ֣א אֵבֽוֹשׁ׃

va'adabbera ve'edotekha neged melakhim velo evosh

I will also speak of Thy testimonies before kings, and will not be ashamed.

⁴⁷וְאֶשְׁתַּֽעֲשַׁ֥ע בְּמִצְוֺתֶ֗יךָ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָהָֽבְתִּי׃

ve'eshta'asha' bemitzvotekha asher ahavti

And I will delight myself in Thy commandments, which I have loved.

⁴⁸וְאֶשָּֽׂא־כַפַּ֗י אֶֽל־מִ֭צְוֺתֶיךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָהָ֗בְתִּי וְאָשִׂ֥יחָה בְחֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

ve'essa-khappay el-mitzvotekha asher ahavti ve'asicha vechukkekha

I will lift up my hands also unto Thy commandments, which I have loved; And I will meditate in Thy statutes.

⁴⁹זְכֹר־דָּבָ֥ר לְעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ עַ֝֗ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִֽחַלְתָּֽנִי׃

zekhor-davar le'avdekha al asher yichaltani

ZAIN. Remember the word unto Thy servant, Because Thou hast made me to hope.

⁵⁰זֹ֣את נֶחָמָתִ֣י בְעָנְיִ֑י כִּ֖י אִמְרָתְךָ֣ חִיָּֽתְנִי׃

zot nechamati ve'anyi ki imratkha chiyyatni

This is my comfort in my affliction, that Thy word hath quickened me.

⁵¹זֵ֭דִים הֱלִיצֻ֣נִי עַד־מְאֹ֑ד מִ֝תּֽוֹרָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א נָטִֽיתִי׃

zedim helitzuni ad-me'od mittoratkha lo natiti

The proud have had me greatly in derision; yet have I not turned aside from Thy law.

⁵²זָ֘כַ֤רְתִּי מִשְׁפָּטֶ֖יךָ מֵעוֹלָ֥ם ׀ יְהוָ֗ה וָֽאֶתְנֶחָֽם׃

zakharti mishpatekha me'olam ADONAI va'etnecham

I have remembered Thine ordinances which are of old, O LORD, and have comforted myself. .

⁵³זַלְעָפָ֣ה אֲ֭חָזַתְנִי מֵרְשָׁעִ֑ים עֹ֝זְבֵ֗י תּוֹרָתֶֽךָ׃

zal'afa achazatni mersha'im ozve toratekha

Burning indignation hath taken hold upon me, because of the wicked that forsake Thy law.

⁵⁴זְ֭מִרוֹת הָֽיוּ־לִ֥י חֻקֶּ֗יךָ בְּבֵ֣ית מְגוּרָֽי׃

zemirot hayu-li chukkekha bevet meguray

Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

⁵⁵זָ֘כַ֤רְתִּי בַלַּ֣יְלָה שִׁמְךָ֣ יְהוָ֑ה וָֽ֝אֶשְׁמְרָ֗ה תּוֹרָתֶֽךָ׃

zakharti vallayla shimkha ADONAI va'eshmera toratekha

I have remembered Thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have observed Thy law.

⁵⁶זֹ֥את הָֽיְתָה־לִּ֑י כִּ֖י פִקֻּדֶ֣יךָ נָצָֽרְתִּי׃

zot hayta-li ki fikkudekha natzarti

This I have had, that I have kept Thy precepts.

⁵⁷חֶלְקִ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אָמַ֗רְתִּי לִשְׁמֹ֥ר דְּבָרֶֽיךָ׃

chelki ADONAI amarti lishmor devarekha

HETH. My portion is the LORD, I have said that I would observe Thy words.

⁵⁸חִלִּ֣יתִי פָנֶ֣יךָ בְכָל־לֵ֑ב חָ֝נֵּ֗נִי כְּאִמְרָתֶֽךָ׃

chilliti fanekha vekhal-lev channeni ke'imratekha

I have entreated Thy favour with my whole heart; be gracious unto me according to Thy word.

⁵⁹חִשַּׁ֥בְתִּי דְרָכָ֑י וָאָשִׁ֥יבָה רַ֝גְלַ֗י אֶל־עֵדֹתֶֽיךָ׃

chishavti derakhay va'ashiva raglay el-edotekha

I considered my ways, and turned my feet unto Thy testimonies.

⁶⁰חַ֭שְׁתִּי וְלֹ֣א הִתְמַהְמָ֑הְתִּי לִ֝שְׁמֹ֗ר מִצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃

chashti velo hitmahmahti lishmor mitzvotekha

I made haste, and delayed not, to observe Thy commandments.

⁶¹חֶבְלֵ֣י רְשָׁעִ֣ים עִוְּדֻ֑נִי תּֽ֝וֹרָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א שָׁכָֽחְתִּי׃

chevle resha'im ivveduni toratkha lo shakhachti

The bands of the wicked have enclosed me; but I have not forgotten Thy law.

⁶²חֲצֽוֹת־לַ֗יְלָה אָ֭קוּם לְהוֹד֣וֹת לָ֑ךְ עַ֝֗ל מִשְׁפְּטֵ֥י צִדְקֶֽךָ׃

chatzot-layla akum lehodot lakh al mishpete tzidkekha

At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto Thee because of Thy righteous ordinances.

⁶³חָבֵ֣ר אָ֭נִי לְכָל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר יְרֵא֑וּךָ וּ֝לְשֹׁמְרֵ֗י פִּקּוּדֶֽיךָ׃

chaver ani lekhal-asher yereukha uleshomre pikkudekha

I am a companion of all them that fear Thee, and of them that observe Thy precepts.

⁶⁴חַסְדְּךָ֣ יְ֭הוָה מָלְאָ֥ה הָאָ֗רֶץ חֻקֶּ֥יךָ לַמְּדֵֽנִי׃

chasdekha ADONAI mal'a ha'aretz chukkekha lammedeni

The earth, O LORD, is full of Thy mercy; teach me Thy statutes.

⁶⁵ט֭וֹב עָשִׂ֣יתָ עִֽם־עַבְדְּךָ֑ יְ֝הוָ֗ה כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃

tov asita im-avdekha ADONAI kidvarekha

TETH. Thou hast dealt well with Thy servant, O LORD, according unto Thy word.

⁶⁶ט֤וּב טַ֣עַם וָדַ֣עַת לַמְּדֵ֑נִי כִּ֖י בְמִצְוֺתֶ֣יךָ הֶאֱמָֽנְתִּי׃

tuv ta'am vada'at lammedeni ki vemitzvotekha he'emanti

Teach me good discernment and knowledge; for I have believed in Thy commandments.

⁶⁷טֶ֣רֶם אֶ֭עֱנֶה אֲנִ֣י שֹׁגֵ֑ג וְ֝עַתָּ֗ה אִמְרָתְךָ֥ שָׁמָֽרְתִּי׃

terem e'ene ani shogeg ve'atta imratkha shamarti

Before I was afflicted, I did err; But now I observe Thy word.

⁶⁸טוֹב־אַתָּ֥ה וּמֵטִ֗יב לַמְּדֵ֥נִי חֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

tov-atta umetiv lammedeni chukkekha

Thou art good, and doest good; Teach me Thy statutes.

⁶⁹טָפְל֬וּ עָלַ֣י שֶׁ֣קֶר זֵדִ֑ים אֲ֝נִ֗י בְּכָל־לֵ֤ב ׀ אֱצֹּ֬ר פִּקּוּדֶֽיךָ׃

taflu alay sheker zedim ani bekhal-lev etzor pikkudekha

The proud have forged a lie against me; But I with my whole heart will keep Thy precepts.

⁷⁰טָפַ֣שׁ כַּחֵ֣לֶב לִבָּ֑ם אֲ֝נִ֗י תּוֹרָתְךָ֥ שִֽׁעֲשָֽׁעְתִּי׃

tafash kachelev libbam ani toratkha shi'asha'ti

Their heart is gross like fat; But I delight in Thy law.

⁷¹טֽוֹב־לִ֥י כִֽי־עֻנֵּ֑יתִי לְ֝מַ֗עַן אֶלְמַ֥ד חֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

tov-li khi-unneti lema'an elmad chukkekha

It is good for me that I have been afflicted, In order that I might learn Thy statutes.

⁷²טֽוֹב־לִ֥י תֽוֹרַת־פִּ֑יךָ מֵ֝אַלְפֵ֗י זָהָ֥ב וָכָֽסֶף׃

tov-li torat-pikha me'alfe zahav vakhasef

The law of Thy mouth is better unto me Than thousands of gold and silver.

⁷³יָדֶ֣יךָ עָ֭שׂוּנִי וַֽיְכוֹנְנ֑וּנִי הֲ֝בִינֵ֗נִי וְאֶלְמְדָ֥ה מִצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃

yadekha asuni vaykhonnuni havineni ve'elmeda mitzvotekha

JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Thy commandments.

⁷⁴יְ֭רֵאֶיךָ יִרְא֣וּנִי וְיִשְׂמָ֑חוּ כִּ֖י לִדְבָרְךָ֣ יִחָֽלְתִּי׃

yere'ekha yiruni veyismachu ki lidvarkha yichalti

They that fear Thee shall see me and be glad, because I have hope in Thy word.

⁷⁵יָדַ֣עְתִּי יְ֭הוָה כִּי־צֶ֣דֶק מִשְׁפָּטֶ֑יךָ וֶ֝אֱמוּנָ֗ה עִנִּיתָֽנִי׃

yada'ti ADONAI ki-tzedek mishpatekha ve'emuna innitani

I know, O LORD, that Thy judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness Thou hast afflicted me. .

⁷⁶יְהִי־נָ֣א חַסְדְּךָ֣ לְנַחֲמֵ֑נִי כְּאִמְרָתְךָ֥ לְעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃

yehi-na chasdekha lenachameni ke'imratkha le'avdekha

Let, I pray Thee, Thy lovingkindness be ready to comfort me, According to Thy promise unto Thy servant.

⁷⁷יְבֹא֣וּנִי רַחֲמֶ֣יךָ וְאֶֽחְיֶ֑ה כִּי־תֽ֝וֹרָתְךָ֗ שַֽׁעֲשֻׁעָֽי׃

yevouni rachamekha ve'echye ki-toratkha sha'ashu'ay

Let Thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live; for Thy law is my delight.

⁷⁸יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ זֵ֭דִים כִּי־שֶׁ֣קֶר עִוְּת֑וּנִי אֲ֝נִ֗י אָשִׂ֥יחַ בְּפִקּוּדֶֽיךָ׃

yevoshu zedim ki-sheker ivvetuni ani asiach befikkudekha

Let the proud be put to shame, for they have distorted my cause with falsehood; but I will meditate in Thy precepts.

⁷⁹יָשׁ֣וּבוּ לִ֣י יְרֵאֶ֑יךָ וידעו [וְ֝יֹדְעֵ֗י] עֵדֹתֶֽיךָ׃

yashuvu li yere'ekha veyod'e edotekha

Let those that fear Thee return unto me, and they that know Thy testimonies.

⁸⁰יְהִֽי־לִבִּ֣י תָמִ֣ים בְּחֻקֶּ֑יךָ לְ֝מַ֗עַן לֹ֣א אֵבֽוֹשׁ׃

yehi-libbi tamim bechukkekha lema'an lo evosh

Let my heart be undivided in Thy statutes, in order that I may not be put to shame.

⁸¹כָּלְתָ֣ה לִתְשׁוּעָתְךָ֣ נַפְשִׁ֑י לִדְבָרְךָ֥ יִחָֽלְתִּי׃

kalta litshu'atkha nafshi lidvarkha yichalti

CAPH. My soul pineth for Thy salvation; in Thy word do I hope.

⁸²כָּל֣וּ עֵ֭ינַי לְאִמְרָתֶ֑ךָ לֵ֝אמֹ֗ר מָתַ֥י תְּֽנַחֲמֵֽנִי׃

kalu enay le'imratekha lemor matay tenachameni

Mine eyes fail for Thy word, Saying: 'When wilt Thou comfort me?'

⁸³כִּֽי־הָ֭יִיתִי כְּנֹ֣אד בְּקִיט֑וֹר חֻ֝קֶּ֗יךָ לֹ֣א שָׁכָֽחְתִּי׃

ki-hayiti kenod bekitor chukkekha lo shakhachti

For I am become like a wine-skin in the smoke; yet do I not forget Thy statutes.

⁸⁴כַּמָּ֥ה יְמֵֽי־עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ מָתַ֬י תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה בְרֹדְפַ֣י מִשְׁפָּֽט׃

kamma yeme-avdekha matay ta'ase verodfay mishpat

How many are the days of Thy servant? When wilt Thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?

⁸⁵כָּֽרוּ־לִ֣י זֵדִ֣ים שִׁיח֑וֹת אֲ֝שֶׁ֗ר לֹ֣א כְתוֹרָתֶֽךָ׃

karu-li zedim shichot asher lo khetoratekha

The proud have digged pits for me, which is not according to Thy law.

⁸⁶כָּל־מִצְוֺתֶ֥יךָ אֱמוּנָ֑ה שֶׁ֖קֶר רְדָפ֣וּנִי עָזְרֵֽנִי׃

kal-mitzvotekha emuna sheker redafuni azreni

All Thy commandments are faithful; they persecute me for nought; help Thou me.

⁸⁷כִּ֭מְעַט כִּלּ֣וּנִי בָאָ֑רֶץ וַ֝אֲנִ֗י לֹא־עָזַ֥בְתִּי פִקֻּודֶֽיךָ׃

kim'at killuni va'aretz va'ani lo-azavti fikkuvdekha

They had almost consumed me upon earth; but as for me, I forsook not Thy precepts.

⁸⁸כְּחַסְדְּךָ֥ חַיֵּ֑נִי וְ֝אֶשְׁמְרָ֗ה עֵד֥וּת פִּֽיךָ׃

kechasdekha chayyeni ve'eshmera edut pikha

Quicken me after Thy lovingkindness, and I will observe the testimony of Thy mouth.

⁸⁹לְעוֹלָ֥ם יְהוָ֑ה דְּ֝בָרְךָ֗ נִצָּ֥ב בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

le'olam ADONAI devarkha nitzav bashamayim

LAMED. For ever, O LORD, Thy word standeth fast in heaven.

⁹⁰לְדֹ֣ר וָ֭דֹר אֱמֽוּנָתֶ֑ךָ כּוֹנַ֥נְתָּ אֶ֝֗רֶץ וַֽתַּעֲמֹֽד׃

ledor vador emunatekha konanta eretz vatta'amod

Thy faithfulness is unto all generations; Thou hast established the earth, and it standeth.

⁹¹לְֽ֭מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ עָמְד֣וּ הַיּ֑וֹם כִּ֖י הַכֹּ֣ל עֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃

lemishpatekha amdu hayyom ki hakkol avadekha

They stand this day according to Thine ordinances; for all things are Thy servants.

⁹²לוּלֵ֣י ת֭וֹרָתְךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָ֑י אָ֝֗ז אָבַ֥דְתִּי בְעָנְיִֽי׃

lule toratkha sha'ashu'ay az avadti ve'anyi

Unless Thy law had been my delight, I should then have perished in mine affliction.

⁹³לְ֭עוֹלָם לֹא־אֶשְׁכַּ֣ח פִּקּוּדֶ֑יךָ כִּ֥י בָ֝֗ם חִיִּיתָֽנִי׃

le'olam lo-eshkach pikkudekha ki vam chiyyitani

I will never forget Thy precepts; for with them Thou hast quickened me.

⁹⁴לְֽךָ־אֲ֭נִי הוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי כִּ֖י פִקּוּדֶ֣יךָ דָרָֽשְׁתִּי׃

lekha-ani hoshi'eni ki fikkudekha darashti

I am Thine, save me; for I have sought Thy precepts.

⁹⁵לִ֤י קִוּ֣וּ רְשָׁעִ֣ים לְאַבְּדֵ֑נִי עֵ֝דֹתֶ֗יךָ אֶתְבּוֹנָֽן׃

li kivvu resha'im le'abbedeni edotekha etbonan

The wicked have waited for me to destroy me; but I will consider Thy testimonies.

⁹⁶לְֽכָל תִּ֭כְלָה רָאִ֣יתִי קֵ֑ץ רְחָבָ֖ה מִצְוָתְךָ֣ מְאֹֽד׃

lekhal tikhla ra'iti ketz rechava mitzvatkha me'od

I have seen an end to every purpose; but Thy commandment is exceeding broad.

⁹⁷מָֽה־אָהַ֥בְתִּי תוֹרָתֶ֑ךָ כָּל־הַ֝יּ֗וֹם הִ֣יא שִׂיחָתִֽי׃

ma-ahavti toratekha kal-hayyom hi sichati

MEM. O how love I Thy law! It is my meditation all the day.

⁹⁸מֵ֭אֹ֣יְבַי תְּחַכְּמֵ֣נִי מִצְוֺתֶ֑ךָ כִּ֖י לְעוֹלָ֣ם הִיא־לִֽי׃

me'oyvay techakkemeni mitzvotekha ki le'olam hi-li

Thy commandments make me wiser than mine enemies: For they are ever with me.

⁹⁹מִכָּל־מְלַמְּדַ֥י הִשְׂכַּ֑לְתִּי כִּ֥י עֵ֝דְוֺתֶ֗יךָ שִׂ֣יחָה לִֽֿי׃

mikkal-melammeday hiskalti ki edvotekha sicha li

I have more understanding than all my teachers; For Thy testimonies are my meditation.

¹⁰⁰מִזְּקֵנִ֥ים אֶתְבּוֹנָ֑ן כִּ֖י פִקּוּדֶ֣יךָ נָצָֽרְתִּי׃

mizzekenim etbonan ki fikkudekha natzarti

I understand more than mine elders, because I have keep Thy precepts.

¹⁰¹מִכָּל־אֹ֣רַח רָ֭ע כָּלִ֣אתִי רַגְלָ֑י לְ֝מַ֗עַן אֶשְׁמֹ֥ר דְּבָרֶֽךָ׃

mikkal-orach ra' kaliti raglay lema'an eshmor devarekha

I have refrained my feet from every evil way, in order that I might observe Thy word.

¹⁰²מִמִּשְׁפָּטֶ֥יךָ לֹא־סָ֑רְתִּי כִּֽי־אַ֝תָּ֗ה הוֹרֵתָֽנִי׃

mimmishpatekha lo-sarti ki-atta horetani

I have not turned aside from Thine ordinances; For Thou hast instructed me.

¹⁰³מַה־נִּמְלְצ֣וּ לְ֭חִכִּי אִמְרָתֶ֗ךָ מִדְּבַ֥שׁ לְפִֽי׃

ma-nimletzu lechikki imratekha middevash lefi

How sweet are Thy words unto my palate! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

¹⁰⁴מִפִּקּוּדֶ֥יךָ אֶתְבּוֹנָ֑ן עַל־כֵּ֝֗ן שָׂנֵ֤אתִי ׀ כָּל־אֹ֬רַח שָֽׁקֶר׃

mippikkudekha etbonan al-ken saneti kal-orach shaker

From Thy precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.

¹⁰⁵נֵר־לְרַגְלִ֥י דְבָרֶ֑ךָ וְ֝א֗וֹר לִנְתִיבָתִֽי׃

ner-leragli devarekha veor lintivati

NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.

¹⁰⁶נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּי וָאֲקַיֵּ֑מָה לִ֝שְׁמֹ֗ר מִשְׁפְּטֵ֥י צִדְקֶֽךָ׃

nishba'ti va'akayyema lishmor mishpete tzidkekha

I have sworn, and have confirmed it, To observe Thy righteous ordinances.

¹⁰⁷נַעֲנֵ֥יתִי עַד־מְאֹ֑ד יְ֝הוָ֗ה חַיֵּ֥נִי כִדְבָרֶֽךָ׃

na'aneti ad-me'od ADONAI chayyeni khidvarekha

I am afflicted very much; Quicken me, O LORD, according unto Thy word.

¹⁰⁸נִדְב֣וֹת פִּ֭י רְצֵה־נָ֣א יְהוָ֑ה וּֽמִשְׁפָּטֶ֥יךָ לַמְּדֵֽנִי׃

nidvot pi retze-na ADONAI umishpatekha lammedeni

Accept, I beseech Thee, the freewill-offerings of my mouth, O LORD, And teach me Thine ordinances.

¹⁰⁹נַפְשִׁ֣י בְכַפִּ֣י תָמִ֑יד וְ֝תֽוֹרָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א שָׁכָֽחְתִּי׃

nafshi vekhappi tamid vetoratkha lo shakhachti

My soul is continually in my hand; yet have I not forgotten Thy law.

¹¹⁰נָתְנ֬וּ רְשָׁעִ֣ים פַּ֣ח לִ֑י וּ֝מִפִּקּוּדֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א תָעִֽיתִי׃

natnu resha'im pach li umippikkudekha lo ta'iti

The wicked have laid a snare for me; yet went I not astray from Thy precepts.

¹¹¹נָחַ֣לְתִּי עֵדְוֺתֶ֣יךָ לְעוֹלָ֑ם כִּֽי־שְׂשׂ֖וֹן לִבִּ֣י הֵֽמָּה׃

nachalti edvotekha le'olam ki-seson libbi hemma

Thy testimonies have I taken as a heritage for ever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹¹²נָטִ֣יתִי לִ֭בִּי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת חֻקֶּ֗יךָ לְעוֹלָ֥ם עֵֽקֶב׃

natiti libbi la'asot chukkekha le'olam ekev

I have inclined my heart to perform Thy statutes, for ever, at every step.

¹¹³סֵעֲפִ֥ים שָׂנֵ֑אתִי וְֽתוֹרָתְךָ֥ אָהָֽבְתִּי׃

se'afim saneti vetoratkha ahavti

SAMECH. I hate them that are of a double mind; but Thy law do I love.

¹¹⁴סִתְרִ֣י וּמָגִנִּ֣י אָ֑תָּה לִדְבָרְךָ֥ יִחָֽלְתִּי׃

sitri umaginni atta lidvarkha yichalti

Thou art my covert and my shield; in Thy word do I hope.

¹¹⁵סֽוּרוּ־מִמֶּ֥נִּי מְרֵעִ֑ים וְ֝אֶצְּרָ֗ה מִצְוֺ֥ת אֱלֹהָֽי׃

suru-mimmenni mere'im ve'etzera mitzvot elohay

Depart from me, ye evildoers; that I may keep the commandments of my God.

¹¹⁶סָמְכֵ֣נִי כְאִמְרָתְךָ֣ וְאֶֽחְיֶ֑ה וְאַל־תְּ֝בִישֵׁ֗נִי מִשִּׂבְרִֽי׃

samkheni khe'imratkha ve'echye ve'al-tevisheni missivri

Uphold me according unto Thy word, that I may live; and put me not to shame in my hope.

¹¹⁷סְעָדֵ֥נִי וְאִוָּשֵׁ֑עָה וְאֶשְׁעָ֖ה בְחֻקֶּ֣יךָ תָמִֽיד׃

se'adeni ve'ivvashe'a ve'esh'a vechukkekha tamid

Support Thou me, and I shall be saved; and I will occupy myself with Thy statutes continually.

¹¹⁸סָ֭לִיתָ כָּל־שׁוֹגִ֣ים מֵחֻקֶּ֑יךָ כִּי־שֶׁ֝֗קֶר תַּרְמִיתָֽם׃

salita kal-shogim mechukkekha ki-sheker tarmitam

Thou hast made light of all them that err from Thy statutes; for their deceit is vain.

¹¹⁹סִגִ֗ים הִשְׁבַּ֥תָּ כָל־רִשְׁעֵי־אָ֑רֶץ לָ֝כֵ֗ן אָהַ֥בְתִּי עֵדֹתֶֽיךָ׃

sigim hishbatta khal-rish'e-aretz lakhen ahavti edotekha

Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross; therefore I love Thy testimonies.

¹²⁰סָמַ֣ר מִפַּחְדְּךָ֣ בְשָׂרִ֑י וּֽמִמִּשְׁפָּטֶ֥יךָ יָרֵֽאתִי׃

samar mippachdekha vesari umimmishpatekha yareti

My flesh shuddereth for fear of Thee; And I am afraid of Thy judgments.

¹²¹עָ֭שִׂיתִי מִשְׁפָּ֣ט וָצֶ֑דֶק בַּל־תַּ֝נִּיחֵ֗נִי לְעֹֽשְׁקָֽי׃

asiti mishpat vatzedek bal-tannicheni le'oshkay

AIN. I have done justice and righteousness; Leave me not to mine oppressors.

¹²²עֲרֹ֣ב עַבְדְּךָ֣ לְט֑וֹב אַֽל־יַעַשְׁקֻ֥נִי זֵדִֽים׃

arov avdekha letov al-ya'ashkuni zedim

Be surety for Thy servant for good; Let not the proud oppress me.

¹²³עֵ֭ינַי כָּל֣וּ לִֽישׁוּעָתֶ֑ךָ וּלְאִמְרַ֥ת צִדְקֶֽךָ׃

enay kalu lishu'atekha ule'imrat tzidkekha

Mine eyes fail for Thy salvation, and for Thy righteous word.

¹²⁴עֲשֵׂ֖ה עִם־עַבְדְּךָ֥ כְחַסְדֶּ֗ךָ וְחֻקֶּ֥יךָ לַמְּדֵֽנִי׃

ase im-avdekha khechasdekha vechukkekha lammedeni

Deal with Thy servant according unto Thy mercy, and teach me Thy statutes.

¹²⁵עַבְדְּךָ־אָ֥נִי הֲבִינֵ֑נִי וְ֝אֵדְעָ֗ה עֵדֹתֶֽיךָ׃

avdekha-ani havineni ve'ed'a edotekha

I am Thy servant, give me understanding, that I may know Thy testimonies.

¹²⁶עֵ֭ת לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לַיהוָ֑ה הֵ֝פֵ֗רוּ תּוֹרָתֶֽךָ׃

et la'asot laADONAI heferu toratekha

It is time for the LORD to work; They have made void Thy law.

¹²⁷עַל־כֵּ֭ן אָהַ֣בְתִּי מִצְוֺתֶ֑יךָ מִזָּהָ֥ב וּמִפָּֽז׃

al-ken ahavti mitzvotekha mizzahav umippaz

Therefore I love Thy commandments Above gold, yea, above fine gold.

¹²⁸עַל־כֵּ֤ן ׀ כָּל־פִּקּ֣וּדֵי כֹ֣ל יִשָּׁ֑רְתִּי כָּל־אֹ֖רַח שֶׁ֣קֶר שָׂנֵֽאתִי׃

al-ken kal-pikkude khol yisharti kal-orach sheker saneti

Therefore I esteem all [Thy] precepts concerning all things to be right; Every false way I hate.

¹²⁹פְּלָא֥וֹת עֵדְוֺתֶ֑יךָ עַל־כֵּ֝֗ן נְצָרָ֥תַם נַפְשִֽׁי׃

pelaot edvotekha al-ken netzaratam nafshi

PE. Thy testimonies are wonderful; Therefore doth my soul keep them.

¹³⁰פֵּ֖תַח דְּבָרֶ֥יךָ יָאִ֗יר מֵבִ֥ין פְּתָיִֽים׃

petach devarekha ya'ir mevin petayim

The opening of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

¹³¹פִּֽי־פָ֭עַרְתִּי וָאֶשְׁאָ֑פָה כִּ֖י לְמִצְוֺתֶ֣יךָ יָאָֽבְתִּי׃

pi-fa'arti va'esh'afa ki lemitzvotekha ya'avti

I opened wide my mouth, and panted; For I longed for Thy commandments.

¹³²פְּנֵה־אֵלַ֥י וְחָנֵּ֑נִי כְּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט לְאֹהֲבֵ֥י שְׁמֶֽךָ׃

pene-elay vechanneni kemishpat le'ohave shemekha

Turn Thee towards me, and be gracious unto me, As is Thy wont to do unto those that love Thy name.

¹³³פְּ֭עָמַי הָכֵ֣ן בְּאִמְרָתֶ֑ךָ וְֽאַל־תַּשְׁלֶט־בִּ֥י כָל־אָֽוֶן׃

pe'amay hakhen be'imratekha ve'al-tashlet-bi khal-aven

Order my footsteps by Thy word; And let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

¹³⁴פְּ֭דֵנִי מֵעֹ֣שֶׁק אָדָ֑ם וְ֝אֶשְׁמְרָ֗ה פִּקּוּדֶֽיךָ׃

pedeni me'oshek adam ve'eshmera pikkudekha

Redeem me from the oppression of man, And I will observe Thy precepts.

¹³⁵פָּ֭נֶיךָ הָאֵ֣ר בְּעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ וְ֝לַמְּדֵ֗נִי אֶת־חֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

panekha ha'er be'avdekha velammedeni et-chukkekha

Make Thy face to shine upon Thy servant; And teach me Thy statutes.

¹³⁶פַּלְגֵי־מַ֭יִם יָרְד֣וּ עֵינָ֑י עַ֝֗ל לֹא־שָׁמְר֥וּ תוֹרָתֶֽךָ׃

palge-mayim yardu enay al lo-shamru toratekha

Mine eyes run down with rivers of water, Because they observe not Thy law.

¹³⁷צַדִּ֣יק אַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֑ה וְ֝יָשָׁ֗ר מִשְׁפָּטֶֽיךָ׃

tzaddik atta ADONAI veyashar mishpatekha

TZADE. Righteous art Thou, O LORD, And upright are Thy judgments.

¹³⁸צִ֭וִּיתָ צֶ֣דֶק עֵדֹתֶ֑יךָ וֶֽאֱמוּנָ֥ה מְאֹֽד׃

tzivvita tzedek edotekha ve'emuna me'od

Thou hast commanded Thy testimonies in righteousness and exceeding faithfulness.

¹³⁹צִמְּתַ֥תְנִי קִנְאָתִ֑י כִּֽי־שָׁכְח֖וּ דְבָרֶ֣יךָ צָרָֽי׃

tzimmetatni kin'ati ki-shakhchu devarekha tzaray

My zeal hath undone me, because mine adversaries have forgotten Thy words.

¹⁴⁰צְרוּפָ֖ה אִמְרָתְךָ֥ מְאֹ֗ד וְֽעַבְדְּךָ֥ אֲהֵבָֽהּ׃

tzerufa imratkha me'od ve'avdekha ahevah

Thy word is tried to the uttermost, and Thy servant loveth it.

¹⁴¹צָעִ֣יר אָנֹכִ֣י וְנִבְזֶ֑ה פִּ֝קֻּדֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א שָׁכָֽחְתִּי׃

tza'ir anokhi venivze pikkudekha lo shakhachti

I am small and despised; yet have I not forgotten Thy precepts.

¹⁴²צִדְקָתְךָ֣ צֶ֣דֶק לְעוֹלָ֑ם וְֽתוֹרָתְךָ֥ אֱמֶֽת׃

tzidkatkha tzedek le'olam vetoratkha emet

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Thy law is truth.

¹⁴³צַר־וּמָצ֥וֹק מְצָא֑וּנִי מִ֝צְוֺתֶ֗יךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָֽי׃

tzar-umatzok metzauni mitzvotekha sha'ashu'ay

Trouble and anguish have overtaken me; yet Thy commandments are my delight.

¹⁴⁴צֶ֖דֶק עֵדְוֺתֶ֥יךָ לְעוֹלָ֗ם הֲבִינֵ֥נִי וְאֶחְיֶֽה׃

tzedek edvotekha le'olam havineni ve'echye

Thy testimonies are righteous for ever; give me understanding, and I shall live.

¹⁴⁵קָרָ֣אתִי בְכָל־לֵ֭ב עֲנֵ֥נִי יְהוָ֗ה חֻקֶּ֥יךָ אֶצֹּֽרָה׃

karati vekhal-lev aneni ADONAI chukkekha etzora

KOPH. I have called with my whole heart; answer me, O LORD; I will keep Thy statutes.

¹⁴⁶קְרָאתִ֥יךָ הוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי וְ֝אֶשְׁמְרָ֗ה עֵדֹתֶֽיךָ׃

keratikha hoshi'eni ve'eshmera edotekha

I have called Thee, save me, and I will observe Thy testimonies.

¹⁴⁷קִדַּ֣מְתִּי בַ֭נֶּשֶׁף וָאֲשַׁוֵּ֑עָה לדבריך [לִדְבָרְךָ֥] יִחָֽלְתִּי׃

kiddamti vanneshef va'ashavve'a lidvarkha yichalti

I rose early at dawn, and cried; I hoped in Thy word.

¹⁴⁸קִדְּמ֣וּ עֵ֭ינַי אַשְׁמֻר֑וֹת לָ֝שִׂ֗יחַ בְּאִמְרָתֶֽךָ׃

kiddemu enay ashmurot lasiach be'imratekha

Mine eyes forestalled the night-watches, that I might meditate in Thy word.

¹⁴⁹ק֭וֹלִי שִׁמְעָ֣ה כְחַסְדֶּ֑ךָ יְ֝הוָ֗ה כְּֽמִשְׁפָּטֶ֥ךָ חַיֵּֽנִי׃

koli shim'a khechasdekha ADONAI kemishpatekha chayyeni

Hear my voice according unto Thy lovingkindness; Quicken me, O LORD, as Thou art wont.

¹⁵⁰קָ֭רְבוּ רֹדְפֵ֣י זִמָּ֑ה מִתּוֹרָתְךָ֥ רָחָֽקוּ׃

karvu rodfe zimma mittoratkha rachaku

They draw nigh that follow after wickedness; they are far from Thy law.

¹⁵¹קָר֣וֹב אַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֑ה וְֽכָל־מִצְוֺתֶ֥יךָ אֱמֶֽת׃

karov atta ADONAI vekhal-mitzvotekha emet

Thou art nigh, O LORD; and all Thy commandments are truth.

¹⁵²קֶ֣דֶם יָ֭דַעְתִּי מֵעֵדֹתֶ֑יךָ כִּ֖י לְעוֹלָ֣ם יְסַדְתָּֽם׃

kedem yada'ti me'edotekha ki le'olam yesadtam

Of old have I known from Thy testimonies that Thou hast founded them for ever.

¹⁵³רְאֵֽה־עָנְיִ֥י וְחַלְּצֵ֑נִי כִּי־תֽ֝וֹרָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א שָׁכָֽחְתִּי׃

re'e-anyi vechalletzeni ki-toratkha lo shakhachti

RESH. O see mine affliction, and rescue me; For I do not forget Thy law.

¹⁵⁴רִיבָ֣ה רִ֭יבִי וּגְאָלֵ֑נִי לְאִמְרָתְךָ֥ חַיֵּֽנִי׃

riva rivi uge'aleni le'imratkha chayyeni

Plead Thou my cause, and redeem me; Quicken me according to Thy word.

¹⁵⁵רָח֣וֹק מֵרְשָׁעִ֣ים יְשׁוּעָ֑ה כִּֽי־חֻ֝קֶּיךָ לֹ֣א דָרָֽשׁוּ׃

rachok mersha'im yeshu'a ki-chukkekha lo darashu

Salvation is far from the wicked; For they seek not Thy statutes.

¹⁵⁶רַחֲמֶ֖יךָ רַבִּ֥ים ׀ יְהוָ֑ה כְּֽמִשְׁפָּטֶ֥יךָ חַיֵּֽנִי׃

Great are Thy compassions, O LORD; Quicken me as Thou art wont.

Many are my persecutors and mine adversaries; Yet have I not turned aside from Thy testimonies.

¹⁵⁸רָאִ֣יתִי בֹ֭גְדִים וָֽאֶתְקוֹטָ֑טָה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִ֝מְרָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א שָׁמָֽרוּ׃

I beheld them that were faithless, and strove with them; Because they observed not Thy word.

¹⁵⁹רְ֭אֵה כִּי־פִקּוּדֶ֣יךָ אָהָ֑בְתִּי יְ֝הוָ֗ה כְּֽחַסְדְּךָ֥ חַיֵּֽנִי׃

re'e ki-fikkudekha ahavti ADONAI kechasdekha chayyeni

O see how I love Thy precepts; Quicken me, O LORD, according to Thy lovingkindness.

¹⁶⁰רֹאשׁ־דְּבָרְךָ֥ אֱמֶ֑ת וּ֝לְעוֹלָ֗ם כָּל־מִשְׁפַּ֥ט צִדְקֶֽךָ׃

rosh-devarkha emet ule'olam kal-mishpat tzidkekha

The beginning of Thy word is truth; And all Thy righteous ordinance endureth for ever.

¹⁶¹שָׂ֭רִים רְדָפ֣וּנִי חִנָּ֑ם ומדבריך [וּ֝מִדְּבָרְךָ֗] פָּחַ֥ד לִבִּֽי׃

sarim redafuni chinnam umiddevarkha pachad libbi

SCHIN. Princes have persecuted me without a cause; But my heart standeth in awe of Thy words.

¹⁶²שָׂ֣שׂ אָ֭נֹכִֽי עַל־אִמְרָתֶ֑ךָ כְּ֝מוֹצֵ֗א שָׁלָ֥ל רָֽב׃

sas anokhi al-imratekha kemotze shalal rav

I rejoice at Thy word, As one that findeth great spoil.

¹⁶³שֶׁ֣קֶר שָׂ֭נֵאתִי וַאֲתַעֵ֑בָה תּוֹרָתְךָ֥ אָהָֽבְתִּי׃

sheker saneti va'ata'eva toratkha ahavti

I hate and abhor falsehood; Thy law do I love. .

¹⁶⁴שֶׁ֣בַע בַּ֭יּוֹם הִלַּלְתִּ֑יךָ עַ֝֗ל מִשְׁפְּטֵ֥י צִדְקֶֽךָ׃

sheva' bayyom hillaltikha al mishpete tzidkekha

Seven times a day do I praise Thee, because of Thy righteous ordinances.

¹⁶⁵שָׁל֣וֹם רָ֭ב לְאֹהֲבֵ֣י תוֹרָתֶ֑ךָ וְאֵֽין־לָ֥מוֹ מִכְשֽׁוֹל׃

shalom rav le'ohave toratekha ve'en-lamo mikhshol

Great peace have they that love Thy law; And there is no stumbling for them.

¹⁶⁶שִׂבַּ֣רְתִּי לִֽישׁוּעָתְךָ֣ יְהוָ֑ה וּֽמִצְוֺתֶ֥יךָ עָשִֽׂיתִי׃

sibbarti lishu'atkha ADONAI umitzvotekha asiti

I have hoped for Thy salvation, O LORD, And have done Thy commandments.

¹⁶⁷שָֽׁמְרָ֣ה נַ֭פְשִׁי עֵדֹתֶ֑יךָ וָאֹהֲבֵ֥ם מְאֹֽד׃

shamra nafshi edotekha va'ohavem me'od

My soul hath observed Thy testimonies; And I love them exceedingly.

¹⁶⁸שָׁמַ֣רְתִּי פִ֭קּוּדֶיךָ וְעֵדֹתֶ֑יךָ כִּ֖י כָל־דְּרָכַ֣י נֶגְדֶּֽךָ׃

TAV. Let my cry come near before Thee, O LORD; Give me understanding according to Thy word.

¹⁷⁰תָּב֣וֹא תְּחִנָּתִ֣י לְפָנֶ֑יךָ כְּ֝אִמְרָתְךָ֗ הַצִּילֵֽנִי׃

tavo techinnati lefanekha ke'imratkha hatzileni

Let my supplication come before Thee; deliver me according to Thy word.

¹⁷¹תַּבַּ֣עְנָה שְׂפָתַ֣י תְּהִלָּ֑ה כִּ֖י תְלַמְּדֵ֣נִי חֻקֶּֽיךָ׃

tabba'na sefatay tehilla ki telammedeni chukkekha

Let my lips utter praise: Because Thou teachest me Thy statutes.

¹⁷²תַּ֣עַן לְ֭שׁוֹנִי אִמְרָתֶ֑ךָ כִּ֖י כָל־מִצְוֺתֶ֣יךָ צֶּֽדֶק׃

ta'an leshoni imratekha ki khal-mitzvotekha tzedek

Let my tongue sing of Thy word; For all Thy commandments are righteousness.

¹⁷³תְּהִֽי־יָדְךָ֥ לְעָזְרֵ֑נִי כִּ֖י פִקּוּדֶ֣יךָ בָחָֽרְתִּי׃

tehi-yadkha le'azreni ki fikkudekha vacharti

Let Thy hand be ready to help me; For I have chosen Thy precepts.

Let my soul live, and it shall praise Thee; And let Thine ordinances help me.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Thy servant; For I have not forgotten Thy commandments.

¹Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the LORD’s law.

²Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart.

³Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways.

⁴You have commanded your precepts, that we should fully obey them.

⁵Oh that my ways were steadfast to obey your statutes!

⁶Then I wouldn’t be disappointed, when I consider all of your commandments.

⁷I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart, when I learn your righteous judgments.

⁸I will observe your statutes. Don’t utterly forsake me.

⁹How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

¹⁰With my whole heart I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments.

¹¹I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

¹²Blessed are you, LORD. Teach me your statutes.

¹³With my lips, I have declared all the ordinances of your mouth.

¹⁴I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, as much as in all riches.

²²Take reproach and contempt away from me, for I have kept your statutes.

²⁶I declared my ways, and you answered me. Teach me your statutes.

³⁷Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways.

³⁸Fulfill your promise to your servant, that you may be feared.

³⁹Take away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good.

⁴⁰Behold, I long for your precepts! Revive me in your righteousness.

⁴¹Let your loving kindness also come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your word.

⁴²So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in your word.

⁴³Don’t snatch the word of truth out of my mouth, for I put my hope in your ordinances.

⁴⁴So I will obey your Torah continually, forever and ever.

⁴⁵I will walk in liberty, for I have sought your precepts.

⁴⁶I will also speak of your statutes before kings, and will not be disappointed.

⁴⁷I will delight myself in your commandments, because I love them.

⁴⁸I reach out my hands for your commandments, which I love. I will meditate on your statutes.

⁴⁹Remember your word to your servant, because you gave me hope.

⁵⁰This is my comfort in my affliction, for your word has revived me.

⁵¹The arrogant mock me excessively, but I don’t swerve from your Torah.

⁵²I remember your ordinances of old, LORD, and have comforted myself.

⁵³Indignation has taken hold on me, because of the wicked who forsake your Torah.

⁵⁴Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live.

⁵⁵I have remembered your name, LORD, in the night, and I obey your Torah.

⁵⁶This is my way, that I keep your precepts.

⁵⁷The LORD is my portion. I promised to obey your words.

⁵⁸I sought your favor with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to your word.

⁶¹The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your Torah.

⁶²At midnight I will rise to give thanks to you, because of your righteous ordinances.

⁶⁴The earth is full of your loving kindness, LORD. Teach me your statutes.

⁷⁵LORD, I know that your judgments are righteous, that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.

⁸⁴How many are the days of your servant? When will you execute judgment on those who persecute me?

⁸⁵The proud have dug pits for me, contrary to your Torah.

⁸⁶All of your commandments are faithful. They persecute me wrongfully. Help me!

⁸⁷They had almost wiped me from the earth, but I didn’t forsake your precepts.

⁸⁸Preserve my life according to your loving kindness, so I will obey the statutes of your mouth.

⁸⁹LORD, your word is settled in heaven forever.

⁹⁰Your faithfulness is to all generations. You have established the earth, and it remains.
