1וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֛ה בְּמִדְבַּ֥ר סִינַ֖י בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד בְּאֶחָד֩ לַחֹ֨דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֜י בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשֵּׁנִ֗ית לְצֵאתָ֛ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם לֵאמֹֽר׃
vaydabber ADONAI el-moshe bemidbar sinay be'ohel mo'ed be'echad lachodesh hasheni bashana hashenit letzetam me'eretz mitzrayim lemor
AND THE LORD spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying:
2שְׂא֗וּ אֶת־רֹאשׁ֙ כָּל־עֲדַ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמ֔וֹת כָּל־זָכָ֖ר לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָֽם׃
seu et-rosh kal-adat bene-yisra'el lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot kal-zakhar legulgelotam
’Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, every male, by their polls;
3מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כָּל־יֹצֵ֥א צָבָ֖א בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל תִּפְקְד֥וּ אֹתָ֛ם לְצִבְאֹתָ֖ם אַתָּ֥ה וְאַהֲרֹֽן׃
mibben esrim shana vama'la kal-yotze tzava beyisra'el tifkedu otam letziv'otam atta ve'aharon
from twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: ye shall number them by their hosts, even thou and Aaron.
4וְאִתְּכֶ֣ם יִהְי֔וּ אִ֥ישׁ אִ֖ישׁ לַמַּטֶּ֑ה אִ֛ישׁ רֹ֥אשׁ לְבֵית־אֲבֹתָ֖יו הֽוּא׃
ve'ittekhem yihyu ish ish lammatte ish rosh levet-avotav hu
And with you there shall be a man of every tribe, every one head of his fathers’house.
5וְאֵ֨לֶּה֙ שְׁמ֣וֹת הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַֽעַמְד֖וּ אִתְּכֶ֑ם לִרְאוּבֵ֕ן אֱלִיצ֖וּר בֶּן־שְׁדֵיאֽוּר׃
ve'elle shemot ha'anashim asher ya'amdu ittekhem liruven elitzur ben-shedeur
And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6לְשִׁמְע֕וֹן שְׁלֻמִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־צוּרִֽישַׁדָּֽי׃
leshim'on shelumi'el ben-tzurishadday
Of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7לִֽיהוּדָ֕ה נַחְשׁ֖וֹן בֶּן־עַמִּינָדָֽב׃
lihuda nachshon ben-amminadav
Of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8לְיִ֨שָּׂשכָ֔ר נְתַנְאֵ֖ל בֶּן־צוּעָֽר׃
leyissashkhar netan'el ben-tzu'ar
Of Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar.
9לִזְבוּלֻ֕ן אֱלִיאָ֖ב בֶּן־חֵלֹֽן׃
lizvulun eli'av ben-chelon
Of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon.
10לִבְנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף לְאֶפְרַ֕יִם אֱלִישָׁמָ֖ע בֶּן־עַמִּיה֑וּד לִמְנַשֶּׁ֕ה גַּמְלִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־פְּדָהצֽוּר׃
livne yosef le'efrayim elishama' ben-ammihud limnashe gamli'el ben-pedahtzur
Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11לְבִ֨נְיָמִ֔ן אֲבִידָ֖ן בֶּן־גִּדְעֹנִֽי׃
levinyamin avidan ben-gid'oni
Of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12לְדָ֕ן אֲחִיעֶ֖זֶר בֶּן־עַמִּֽישַׁדָּֽי׃
ledan achi'ezer ben-ammishadday
Of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13לְאָשֵׁ֕ר פַּגְעִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־עָכְרָֽן׃
le'asher pag'i'el ben-akhran
Of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran.
14לְגָ֕ד אֶלְיָסָ֖ף בֶּן־דְּעוּאֵֽל׃
legad elyasaf ben-de'u'el
Of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
15לְנַ֨פְתָּלִ֔י אֲחִירַ֖ע בֶּן־עֵינָֽן׃
lenaftali achira' ben-enan
Of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.’
16אֵ֚לֶּה קריאי [קְרוּאֵ֣י] הָעֵדָ֔ה נְשִׂיאֵ֖י מַטּ֣וֹת אֲבוֹתָ֑ם רָאשֵׁ֛י אַלְפֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵֽם׃
elle keru'e ha'eda nesi'e mattot avotam rashe alfe yisra'el hem
These were the elect of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.
17וַיִּקַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֖ה וְאַהֲרֹ֑ן אֵ֚ת הָאֲנָשִׁ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִקְּב֖וּ בְּשֵׁמֽוֹת׃
vayyikkach moshe ve'aharon et ha'anashim ha'elle asher nikkevu beshemot
And Moses and Aaron took these men that are pointed out by name.
18וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־הָעֵדָ֜ה הִקְהִ֗ילוּ בְּאֶחָד֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י וַיִּתְיַֽלְד֥וּ עַל־מִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמ֗וֹת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֥ים שָׁנָ֛ה וָמַ֖עְלָה לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָֽם׃
ve'et kal-ha'eda hikhilu be'echad lachodesh hasheni vayyityaldu al-mishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la legulgelotam
And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
19כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֖ם בְּמִדְבַּ֥ר סִינָֽי׃
ka'asher tzivva ADONAI et-moshe vayyifkedem bemidbar sinay
As the LORD commanded Moses, so did he number them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20וַיִּהְי֤וּ בְנֵֽי־רְאוּבֵן֙ בְּכֹ֣ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֤ר שֵׁמוֹת֙ לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָ֔ם כָּל־זָכָ֗ר מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
vayyihyu vene-reuven bekhor yisra'el toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot legulgelotam kal-zakhar mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
And the children of Reuben, Israel’s first-born, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
21פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה רְאוּבֵ֑ן שִׁשָּׁ֧ה וְאַרְבָּעִ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte reuven shisha ve'arba'im elef vachamesh meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.
22לִבְנֵ֣י שִׁמְע֔וֹן תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם פְּקֻדָ֗יו בְּמִסְפַּ֤ר שֵׁמוֹת֙ לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָ֔ם כָּל־זָכָ֗ר מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne shim'on toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam pekudav bemispar shemot legulgelotam kal-zakhar mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, those that were numbered thereof, according to the number of names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
23פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה שִׁמְע֑וֹן תִּשְׁעָ֧ה וַחֲמִשִּׁ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וּשְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte shim'on tish'a vachamishim elef ushelosh meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.
24לִבְנֵ֣י גָ֔ד תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמ֗וֹת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne gad toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
25פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה גָ֑ד חֲמִשָּׁ֤ה וְאַרְבָּעִים֙ אֶ֔לֶף וְשֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת וַחֲמִשִּֽׁים׃
pekudehem lematte gad chamisha ve'arba'im elef veshesh meot vachamishim
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26לִבְנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne yehuda toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
27פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה יְהוּדָ֑ה אַרְבָּעָ֧ה וְשִׁבְעִ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וְשֵׁ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte yehuda arba'a veshiv'im elef veshesh meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.
28לִבְנֵ֣י יִשָּׂשכָ֔ר תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne yissashkhar toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
29פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה יִשָּׂשכָ֑ר אַרְבָּעָ֧ה וַחֲמִשִּׁ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte yissashkhar arba'a vachamishim elef ve'arba' meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.
30לִבְנֵ֣י זְבוּלֻ֔ן תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne zevulun toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
31פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה זְבוּלֻ֑ן שִׁבְעָ֧ה וַחֲמִשִּׁ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte zevulun shiv'a vachamishim elef ve'arba' meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.
32לִבְנֵ֤י יוֹסֵף֙ לִבְנֵ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne yosef livne efrayim toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
33פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה אֶפְרָ֑יִם אַרְבָּעִ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte efrayim arba'im elef vachamesh meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.
34לִבְנֵ֣י מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמ֗וֹת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne menashe toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
35פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה שְׁנַ֧יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וּמָאתָֽיִם׃
pekudehem lematte menashe shenayim usheloshim elef umatayim
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.
36לִבְנֵ֣י בִנְיָמִ֔ן תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne vinyamin toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
37פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה בִנְיָמִ֑ן חֲמִשָּׁ֧ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte vinyamin chamisha usheloshim elef ve'arba' meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.
38לִבְנֵ֣י דָ֔ן תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne dan toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
39פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה דָ֑ן שְׁנַ֧יִם וְשִׁשִּׁ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte dan shenayim veshishim elef usheva' meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.
40לִבְנֵ֣י אָשֵׁ֔ר תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
livne asher toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
41פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה אָשֵׁ֑ר אֶחָ֧ד וְאַרְבָּעִ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte asher echad ve'arba'im elef vachamesh meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.
42בְּנֵ֣י נַפְתָּלִ֔י תּוֹלְדֹתָ֥ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שֵׁמֹ֗ת מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כֹּ֖ל יֹצֵ֥א צָבָֽא׃
bene naftali toldotam lemishpechotam levet avotam bemispar shemot mibben esrim shana vama'la kol yotze tzava
Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
43פְּקֻדֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה נַפְתָּלִ֑י שְׁלֹשָׁ֧ה וַחֲמִשִּׁ֛ים אֶ֖לֶף וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵאֽוֹת׃
pekudehem lematte naftali shelosha vachamishim elef ve'arba' meot
those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
44אֵ֣לֶּה הַפְּקֻדִ֡ים אֲשֶׁר֩ פָּקַ֨ד מֹשֶׁ֤ה וְאַהֲרֹן֙ וּנְשִׂיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר אִ֑ישׁ אִישׁ־אֶחָ֥ד לְבֵית־אֲבֹתָ֖יו הָיֽוּ׃
elle happekudim asher pakad moshe ve'aharon unesi'e yisra'el shenem asar ish ish-echad levet-avotav hayu
These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men; they were each one for his fathers’house.
45וַיִּֽהְי֛וּ כָּל־פְּקוּדֵ֥י בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה כָּל־יֹצֵ֥א צָבָ֖א בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
vayyihyu kal-pekude vene-yisra'el levet avotam mibben esrim shana vama'la kal-yotze tzava beyisra'el
And all those that were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers’houses, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־הַפְּקֻדִ֔ים שֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֖לֶף וּשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֑ים וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת וַחֲמִשִּֽׁים׃
vayyihyu kal-happekudim shesh-meot elef usheloshet alafim vachamesh meot vachamishim
even all those that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47וְהַלְוִיִּ֖ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה אֲבֹתָ֑ם לֹ֥א הָתְפָּקְד֖וּ בְּתוֹכָֽם׃
vehalviyyim lematte avotam lo hatpakdu betokham
But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
vaydabber ADONAI el-moshe lemor
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
49אַ֣ךְ אֶת־מַטֵּ֤ה לֵוִי֙ לֹ֣א תִפְקֹ֔ד וְאֶת־רֹאשָׁ֖ם לֹ֣א תִשָּׂ֑א בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
akh et-matte levi lo tifkod ve'et-rosham lo tissa betokh bene yisra'el
’Howbeit the tribe of Levi thou shalt not number, neither shalt thou take the sum of them among the children of Israel;
50וְאַתָּ֡ה הַפְקֵ֣ד אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם֩ עַל־מִשְׁכַּ֨ן הָעֵדֻ֜ת וְעַ֣ל כָּל־כֵּלָיו֮ וְעַ֣ל כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ֒ הֵ֜מָּה יִשְׂא֤וּ אֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּן֙ וְאֶת־כָּל־כֵּלָ֔יו וְהֵ֖ם יְשָׁרְתֻ֑הוּ וְסָבִ֥יב לַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן יַחֲנֽוּ׃
ve'atta hafked et-halviyyim al-mishkan ha'edut ve'al kal-kelav ve'al kal-asher-lo hemma yisu et-hammishkan ve'et-kal-kelav vehem yeshartuhu vesaviv lammishkan yachanu
but appoint thou the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all the furniture thereof, and over all that belongeth to it; they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the furniture thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
51וּבִנְסֹ֣עַ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֗ן יוֹרִ֤ידוּ אֹתוֹ֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם וּבַחֲנֹת֙ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן יָקִ֥ימוּ אֹת֖וֹ הַלְוִיִּ֑ם וְהַזָּ֥ר הַקָּרֵ֖ב יוּמָֽת׃
uvinsoa hammishkan yoridu oto halviyyim uvachanot hammishkan yakimu oto halviyyim vehazzar hakkarev yumat
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up; and the common man that draweth nigh shall be put to death.
52וְחָנ֖וּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִ֧ישׁ עַֽל־מַחֲנֵ֛הוּ וְאִ֥ישׁ עַל־דִּגְל֖וֹ לְצִבְאֹתָֽם׃
vechanu bene yisra'el ish al-machanehu ve'ish al-diglo letziv'otam
And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man with his own camp, and every man with his own standard, according to their hosts.
53וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם יַחֲנ֤וּ סָבִיב֙ לְמִשְׁכַּ֣ן הָעֵדֻ֔ת וְלֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֣ה קֶ֔צֶף עַל־עֲדַ֖ת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְשָׁמְרוּ֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם אֶת־מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת מִשְׁכַּ֥ן הָעֵדֽוּת׃
vehalviyyim yachanu saviv lemishkan ha'edut velo-yihye ketzef al-adat bene yisra'el veshamru halviyyim et-mishmeret mishkan ha'edut
But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.’
54וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֖וּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כְּ֠כֹל אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֧ה יְהוָ֛ה אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֖ה כֵּ֥ן עָשֽׂוּ׃
vayya'asu bene yisra'el kekhol asher tzivva ADONAI et-moshe ken asu
Thus did the children of Israel; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
