¹זֶ֣ה סֵ֔פֶר תּוֹלְדֹ֖ת אָדָ֑ם בְּי֗וֹם בְּרֹ֤א אֱלֹהִים֙ אָדָ֔ם בִּדְמ֥וּת אֱלֹהִ֖ים עָשָׂ֥ה אֹתֽוֹ׃

ze sefer toldot adam beyom bero elohim adam bidmut elohim asa oto

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made He him;

²זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה בְּרָאָ֑ם וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ אֹתָ֗ם וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֶת־שְׁמָם֙ אָדָ֔ם בְּי֖וֹם הִבָּֽרְאָֽם׃

zakhar unekeva bera'am vayvarekh otam vayyikra et-shemam adam beyom hibbar'am

male and female created He them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

³וַֽיְחִ֣י אָדָ֗ם שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וּמְאַת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בִּדְמוּת֖וֹ כְּצַלְמ֑וֹ וַיִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ שֵֽׁת׃

vaychi adam sheloshim ume'at shana vayyoled bidmuto ketzalmo vayyikra et-shemo shet

And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.

⁴וַיִּֽהְי֣וּ יְמֵי־אָדָ֗ם אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־שֵׁ֔ת שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵאֹ֖ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vayyihyu yeme-adam achare holido et-shet shemone me'ot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And the days of Adam after he begot Seth were eight hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters.

⁵וַיִּֽהְי֞וּ כָּל־יְמֵ֤י אָדָם֙ אֲשֶׁר־חַ֔י תְּשַׁ֤ע מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayyihyu kal-yeme adam asher-chay tesha' meot shana usheloshim shana vayyamot

And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.

⁶וַֽיְחִי־שֵׁ֕ת חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־אֱנֽוֹשׁ׃

vaychi-shet chamesh shanim ume'at shana vayyoled et-enosh

And Seth lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.

⁷וַֽיְחִי־שֵׁ֗ת אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־אֱנ֔וֹשׁ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֔ים וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

And Seth lived after he begot Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters.

⁸וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־יְמֵי־שֵׁ֔ת שְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayyihyu kal-yeme-shet shetem esre shana utesha' meot shana vayyamot

And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.

⁹וַֽיְחִ֥י אֱנ֖וֹשׁ תִּשְׁעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־קֵינָֽן׃

vaychi enosh tish'im shana vayyoled et-kenan

And Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Kenan.

¹⁰וַֽיְחִ֣י אֱנ֗וֹשׁ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־קֵינָ֔ן חֲמֵ֤שׁ עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vaychi enosh achare holido et-kenan chamesh esre shana ushemone meot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And Enosh lived after he begot Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begot sons and daughters.

¹¹וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־יְמֵ֣י אֱנ֔וֹשׁ חָמֵ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayyihyu kal-yeme enosh chamesh shanim utesha' meot shana vayyamot

And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.

¹²וַֽיְחִ֥י קֵינָ֖ן שִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־מַֽהֲלַלְאֵֽל׃

vaychi kenan shiv'im shana vayyoled et-mahalal'el

And Kenan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.

¹³וַיְחִ֣י קֵינָ֗ן אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vaychi kenan achare holido et-mahalal'el arba'im shana ushemone meot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And Kenan lived after he begot Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years, and begot sons and daughters.

¹⁴וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־יְמֵ֣י קֵינָ֔ן עֶ֣שֶׂר שָׁנִ֔ים וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayyihyu kal-yeme kenan eser shanim utesha' meot shana vayyamot

And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.

¹⁵וַֽיְחִ֣י מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וְשִׁשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־יָֽרֶד׃

vaychi mahalal'el chamesh shanim veshishim shana vayyoled et-yared

And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begot Jared.

¹⁶וַֽיְחִ֣י מַֽהֲלַלְאֵ֗ל אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־יֶ֔רֶד שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vaychi mahalal'el achare holido et-yered sheloshim shana ushemone meot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And Mahalalel lived after he begot Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.

¹⁷וַיִּהְיוּ֙ כָּל־יְמֵ֣י מַהֲלַלְאֵ֔ל חָמֵ֤שׁ וְתִשְׁעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayyihyu kal-yeme mahalal'el chamesh vetish'im shana ushemone meot shana vayyamot

And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years; and he died.

¹⁸וַֽיְחִי־יֶ֕רֶד שְׁתַּ֧יִם וְשִׁשִּׁ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־חֲנֽוֹךְ׃

vaychi-yered shetayim veshishim shana ume'at shana vayyoled et-chanokh

And Jared lived a hundred sixty and two years, and begot Enoch.

¹⁹וַֽיְחִי־יֶ֗רֶד אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־חֲנ֔וֹךְ שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vaychi-yered achare holido et-chanokh shemone meot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And Jared lived after he begot Enoch eight hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

²⁰וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־יְמֵי־יֶ֔רֶד שְׁתַּ֤יִם וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayyihyu kal-yeme-yered shetayim veshishim shana utesha' meot shana vayyamot

And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years; and he died. .

²¹וַֽיְחִ֣י חֲנ֔וֹךְ חָמֵ֥שׁ וְשִׁשִּׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־מְתוּשָֽׁלַח׃

vaychi chanokh chamesh veshishim shana vayyoled et-metushalach

And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begot Methuselah.

²²וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֨ךְ חֲנ֜וֹךְ אֶת־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vayyithallekh chanokh et-ha'elohim achare holido et-metushelach shelosh meot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And Enoch walked with God after he begot Methuselah three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

²³וַיְהִ֖י כָּל־יְמֵ֣י חֲנ֑וֹךְ חָמֵ֤שׁ וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָֽה׃

vayhi kal-yeme chanokh chamesh veshishim shana ushelosh meot shana

And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years.

²⁴וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ חֲנ֖וֹךְ אֶת־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְאֵינֶ֕נּוּ כִּֽי־לָקַ֥ח אֹת֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃

vayyithallekh chanokh et-ha'elohim ve'enennu ki-lakach oto elohim

And Enoch walked with God, and he was not; for God took him.

²⁵וַיְחִ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח שֶׁ֧בַע וּשְׁמֹנִ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־לָֽמֶךְ׃

vaychi metushelach sheva' ushemonim shana ume'at shana vayyoled et-lamekh

And Methuselah lived a hundred eighty and seven years, and begot Lamech.

²⁶וַֽיְחִ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֗לַח אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־לֶ֔מֶךְ שְׁתַּ֤יִם וּשְׁמוֹנִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vaychi metushelach achare holido et-lemekh shetayim ushemonim shana usheva' meot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And Methuselah lived after he begot Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begot sons and daughters.

²⁷וַיִּהְיוּ֙ כָּל־יְמֵ֣י מְתוּשֶׁ֔לַח תֵּ֤שַׁע וְשִׁשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּתְשַׁ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayyihyu kal-yeme metushelach tesha' veshishim shana utesha' meot shana vayyamot

And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died.

²⁸וַֽיְחִי־לֶ֕מֶךְ שְׁתַּ֧יִם וּשְׁמֹנִ֛ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד בֵּֽן׃

vaychi-lemekh shetayim ushemonim shana ume'at shana vayyoled ben

And Lamech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begot a son.

²⁹וַיִּקְרָ֧א אֶת־שְׁמ֛וֹ נֹ֖חַ לֵאמֹ֑ר זֶ֞֠ה יְנַחֲמֵ֤נוּ מִֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֨נוּ֙ וּמֵעִצְּב֣וֹן יָדֵ֔ינוּ מִן־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵֽרְרָ֖הּ יְהוָֽה׃

vayyikra et-shemo noach lemor ze yenachamenu mimma'asenu ume'itzevon yadenu min-ha'adama asher errah ADONAI

And he called his name Noah, saying: ‘This same shall comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, which cometh from the ground which the LORD hath cursed.’

³⁰וַֽיְחִי־לֶ֗מֶךְ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־נֹ֔חַ חָמֵ֤שׁ וְתִשְׁעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֹ֖ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃

vaychi-lemekh achare holido et-noach chamesh vetish'im shana vachamesh me'ot shana vayyoled banim uvanot

And Lamech lived after he begot Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begot sons and daughters.

³¹וַֽיְהִי֙ כָּל־יְמֵי־לֶ֔מֶךְ שֶׁ֤בַע וְשִׁבְעִים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּשְׁבַ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃

vayhi kal-yeme-lemekh sheva' veshiv'im shana usheva' meot shana vayyamot

And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years; and he died.

³²וַֽיְהִי־נֹ֕חַ בֶּן־חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֣וֹלֶד נֹ֔חַ אֶת־שֵׁ֖ם אֶת־חָ֥ם וְאֶת־יָֽפֶת׃

vayhi-noach ben-chamesh meot shana vayyoled noach et-shem et-cham ve'et-yafet

And Noah was five hundred years old; and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

²⁸Lamech lived one hundred eighty-two years, then became the father of a son.

²⁹He named him Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, caused by the ground which the LORD has cursed.”

³⁰Lamech lived after he became the father of Noah five hundred ninety-five years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.

³¹All the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy-seven years, then he died.

³²Noah was five hundred years old, then Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
