The name
Yeshua: the name means salvation
Jesus' Hebrew name is Yeshua, a form of Yehoshua (Joshua), "the LORD saves".
Yeshua was a common name in the Second Temple period; it appears in Ezra and Nehemiah for the high priest Jeshua (Yeshua).
The angel told Joseph, "you shall name him Yeshua, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). The name and the mission are the same word: yeshu'ah, salvation.
Zechariah 6:11-12 describes the high priest Yehoshua being crowned and called "the Branch", a king-priest picture Messianic Jews see fulfilled in Yeshua.
In the Scriptures

11yea, take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set the one upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest; 12and speak unto him, saying: Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying: Behold, a man whose name is the Shoot, and who shall shoot up out of his place, and build the temple of the LORD;

21She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Yeshua, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”
