The covenants
Abraham, Sinai, David, and the new covenant of Jeremiah 31: one story of God binding himself to Israel.
God promised Abraham land, descendants and blessing for all nations (Genesis 12, 15, 17). At Sinai he gave Israel the Torah (Exodus 19-24). To David he promised an everlasting throne (2 Samuel 7).
Through Jeremiah he promised a new covenant "with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah", with Torah written on the heart and sins forgiven (Jeremiah 31:31-34).
Yeshua said his blood was that new covenant (Luke 22:20). It doesn't cancel God's faithfulness to Israel: "the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable" (Romans 11:29).
In the Scriptures
3And I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’

31Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah; 32not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; forasmuch as they broke My covenant, although I was a lord over them, saith the LORD. 33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people; 34and they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying: ‘Know the LORD’; for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.
Jeremiah 31:31-34 (Hebrew & JPS 1917)
29For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
