Hebrews 11:17-19 By faith, Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac. Yes, he who had gladly received the promises was offering up his only born son, to whom it was said, “Your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac,” concluding that God is able to raise up even from the dead. Figuratively speaking, he also did receive him back from the dead.
How rabbinic tradition reads it
The Akedah (binding of Isaac) is central in Jewish prayer: it's read on Rosh Hashanah and the shofar recalls the ram. The merit of Abraham and Isaac is asked for in the liturgy.
Why Messianic Jews read it as Yeshua
The lamb Abraham promised isn't the ram (a ram was caught in the thicket). John the Immerser points to Yeshua: "Behold, the Lamb of God." Moriah is where the Temple later stood (2 Chronicles 3:1).
